  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) Pshew. Flirting with disaster. And not the movie with Tea Leoni. Or the song by Lynard Skynard.
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:59 AM) LOL same thing I tried to post I said " Oh Rios you are so predictable" but got the error message pink screen when I sent it. I see it did go through my bad.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:56 AM) How slow is Rios now? Sad thing is that was the most predictable DP of the season. 39 at bats and counting since his last extra base hit or walk. LOL same thing I tried to post I said " Oh Rios you are so predictable" but got the error message pink screen when I sent it.
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) I expect him to do better when he has a better routine instead of getting called up for sporadic relief appearances before finally getting a start. Would be nice if he faced an easier lineup too, lol. Yea we talk about the pitching but we all know it's the hitting letting us down.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:41 AM) Wonder how long Robin will stick with Axelrose . His pitch count is high. heart of order. Forgot 3rd time through the lineup.

  7. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) Beat me to it. I already called him a crafty righty.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:28 AM) Is Axelrod just lobbing it up there? Is this guy for real? Is he known as a soft tosser? Wow. It's called a curve ball. Keeping the hitter's off balance changing speeds . Tiger's definitely a fastball hitting team. You see what a good curve can do to them like Floyds.
  9. As much as I like how Axelrod has pitched I hope he isn't losing control of his curve.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:17 AM) Hawk's been way better this year than last year, in my opinion. I disagreed with his thoughts on it being easier to find a starting pitcher over finding a closer, but he hasn't been all over the umps as much this year. I think Hawk calls it like he see's it. If he's not getting on the umps it's because the umps haven't been as brutal.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:13 AM) Got the Tigers feed on today. I think I've listened to Hawk one game and that was too much. He's freaking brutal and Stone, who I used to like, isn't enjoyable either. Maybe its just Hawk overflows everything but I can't stand em. I 've always noticed we have similar baseball thoughts but I agree with Jake here. Hawk is good for me.
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:05 AM) Im enjoying watching Axelrod pitch more than Danks right now He's like a crafty lefty . Very good mound presence. Has a good idea how to pitch.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ May 6, 2012 -> 10:59 AM) You can go to right with authority, but Lilli didn't even finish off his swing lol atta boy de Aza! Don't really need to finish your swing if your stroke is short for a reason.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 10:56 AM) Would have been a great swing on a hit-and-run. On a non-2 strike count, it was too defensive of a swing. How come when guys try to go to right you call it a defensive swing ?
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 6, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) Getting a guy to 3rd really isn't that useful when there are already 2 outs. Still it's better than a ground ball to the left side or a K or pop out. At least another wild pitch or passed ball can score him.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 10:47 AM) Two biggest positives so far have been giving hitters the 3-0 green light and doing a great job stressing holding runners. Two biggest negatives so far is handling of closer position and his use of Lillibridge/Flowers. He'll improve on those negatives as he gets experience. Maybe this is the start of an extended run for Lilli at 3rd though I doubt it.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 10:41 AM) Of course, as I'm sure you've seen me rant about. It's my one beef about Ventura.
  18. I like how Axlerod changes speeds. Pitches like a veteran. Keep's them off balance. In out up down change speeds.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 10:36 AM) Flowers takes so many strikes, only to swing at balls. No way can I see the Sox giving him the starting nod next year. Just like Lilli needs starts against lefties.
