9/10 vs Tigers
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 07:14 PM) Actually I found it on ESPN's stats. The Sox no.3 hitters are 13th's in the ML for GDP's which is pretty good/bad considering we're 27nd in OBP or if you prefer our leadoff hitters are 12th's in OBP and our no. 2 hitters are last in MLB and our no.9 hitters are last in the AL in OBP by a wide margin .234 for 15th place to .250 for 14th . I didn't use MLB for no. 9 hitters since the of NL teams have pitchers bat 9th most of the time . So that means in the 3 batting order spots that proceed the # 3 hitter ( 9,1, 2 ) don't get on base very much but our # 3 hitters are still have hit into the 13th most DP's in the league. So when we do have men on with less than 2 outs our # 3 hitters have hit into a higher percentage of DP's. While doing this research I've found it also supported my idea that I don't like Robin's lineups. Our # 8 hitters are 1st in the AL in battng average (.291)and OBP (.339) while our #2 hitters are last in OBP (.280)

9/10 vs Tigers
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 06:45 PM) Three hitters, overall, hit into more DPs than any other spot. Part of Tango's research on batting order years ago. Actually I found it on ESPN's stats. Oh Conor why is it the better you hit the worse you field ?

Is there a stat that shows DP's by position in the batting order ? I swear our 3 hitter's must lead the league.

Swinging bunt by Phegs and throwing error by Scherzer puts Sox up 5-0. That Phegley quick stop got him to 3rd base.

My 2 fav guys Gillespie and Tank combine for a run.

Ump helping Scherzer get into a rhythm with some questionable calls while Sale walked Hunter with 2 pitches that could've been called strike 3. Gillespie with a double.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 06:00 PM) I feel like Phegley's goal on every groundout where he is trying to beat the throw, he is trying to stop himself as close to 1st base as he can. At least 4 or 5 times now I have seen him slow down as he approaches 1st and then come to a complete stop 5 feet past 1st. It's like he doesn't realize he can run through the base, it's weird and he is going to break an ankle stopping so hard. Love Sale dancing in the dugout over Cabrera's ejection.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 05:54 PM) El Rockin, your position on closer surprises me. I think Reed is a very good closer and much better prospect than Nate. Only thing that's going to wreck Reed is what wrecks all closers not named Rivera. For some reason they bomb after 3-4-5 years. And I guess that will happen to Reed as well. Whatever happened to Dunn's new philosophy of hitting the other way to get more hits? That's what I don't like about Dunn and a lot of hitters who say bulls*** they don't even mean. Dunn hit the other way for what? 3-5 games?? 3 months

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 06:37 PM) But at least they seemed to care in the Yankees series. The last two nights have been just ridiculous. Stoney and Hawk keep saying they don't want to play the younger guys because of respect to teams in a pennant race, but continuing to play the veterans is probably making it easier for the opposition to win. I had to laugh at that when they said it. This was our best lineup tonight ?

I'm sickened by bad umpiring. Exact same looking play at 1st and the ump called the Oriole safe (which he was) and the White Sox ( Viciedo) out (which he wasn't). Stone talked to Jim Palmer between innings and Palmer asked him "What did you guys do to the umps " ?

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 05:40 PM) Do you guys want Keppinger back next year? I wouldn't mind if he got traded. I like him as a backup.

Robin's love for Keppinger 3rd or 6th constantly putting him in the middle of the line up is irksome. Seems like he prefers the vets just as much as Ozzie did.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 4, 2013 -> 06:50 PM) Always has got every borderline call. When it even catches the blackest of the black give him a strike at least 2 pitches last night and 2 tonight can't be called strikes. A legend has to throw strikes like everyone else.
