  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 08:20 PM) I'm sure his "I love Fidel" comment even with the Marlins apology and his retraction, will keep some people away from the ballpark as long as he's involved. I just wonder what's next. I'm sure KW is laughing his ass off. If KW said the same thing, Cowley would call it a fireable offense. With Ozzie, its just cute Ozzie being Ozzie, its what makes him so great. I think this ridiculous comment probably cuts the incidents it will take to get him fired down drastically. So so soooo happy we don't have to deal with him any more !
  2. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) lets hear why the scratch before we freak out ok? May never hear a reason but if he's fine no reason to sit him.
  3. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 12:53 PM) Why sit Viciedo already? Ugh Ugh is right ! I don't mind Lillibridge in because he hits lefties pretty good too but Viciedo feasts on them. Why oh why can't anyone bench Rios ?
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:03 PM) 4 K's and an error that led to the go ahead run? Good to get your worst day out of the way early. Oh you know this won't be the worst game by far .
  5. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) We still banged out quite a few hits. The combination of that giant strike zone and Lewis' command would be tough on anybody. There's no way Beckham or Morel had a chance out there today against that slider. I have some optimism with this lineup as it seems like we can hurt you anywhere in the order...hopefully. Ha me too I rather blame the ump and an unknown strike zone than think Beckham and Morel will continue to suck.
  6. Morel had a bad day. It happens. Showed a lot of promise late in the year and had a very good spring. He'll be fine where ever he gets put.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) Is one game enough for a line-up change? Because Morel has no business at #2. Ventura's lineup will not be etched in stone. You can count on that.
  8. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) I kinda didn't like how Ventura managed this game and I have been supporting him. Morel batting second? He never has batted second before and boy did he look uncomfortable. Having De Aza try to steal second with Dunn up there and of course Dunn walks Taking Danks out early in a close game kinda is a give up move. Not thinking about possibly extra inning game. Not using a pinch hitter for Morel or Beckham or Rios etc Morel batted 2nd some last year. Didn't like that either. The rest is fine by me.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:33 PM) Morel pretty much lost us that game. Eh , it's a team game . Yea he sucked but didn't see many others step up.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) Mike Winters. You are awful. Ditto
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:23 PM) Problem with that is Rios doesn't have enough power to hit the ball effectively to right field. Unless he stands as close to the plate as possible, I can't see anyway he can hit the ball consistently hard. I always thought that too about him . He wants to go to right more but makes weak contact going that way because its always off the end of his bat.
  12. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:00 PM) Hope Danks isn't injured or something? If Ventura yanked him early, that is a bad move. And I guess Reed isn't our closer. Long season ahead not a bad move at all.
  13. Ok 1st to 2nd guess . Why steal with a walking machine up there and could have 2 on for Paulie ?
  14. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 05:38 AM) I know the White Sox are not suppose to win anything this year. That is why winning the division or one of 2 wild card spots will be that much sweeter. It all starts with opening day. We are taking on the 2 time defending AL champions, not an easy task, but i think we can definitley keep up with them! I'm very curious to see how this team will gel together? The what IFs for 2012: Just what if Adam Dunn figured it out. What if Rios has a career year? What if Pauly never missed a beat? What if Beckham finally puts it together offensively? What if Viciedo plays average defense and hits 30 HR and has 90+ RBI's? What if Peavy has a monster year, winning 18 and only gets placed on the DL once? What if Sale wins 15 games as his first year as a starter? What if the young arms in the pen impress and Thorton figured it out as a closer? Can any of these things happen? Regardless if it does or not. I am excited. No pressure for winning anything, just may be a very good thing Great what if's . Don't forget Morel and if you're going with all those great what if's lets have Peavy not on the DL at all !
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 09:34 AM) When he made that play coming in last night, he seemed to say "ow" after that. It may be nothing though. He didn't exactly bust his rear end coming out of the box on that slow roller yesterday. But I'm sure it doesn't mean anything that he's on the bench tonight, just Robin giving AB's to different guys.
  16. Sale , Jones, Reed, Crain all looking good, Thornton's turn now.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 07:11 PM) Reed should close. There I said it again. Rios loafing out of the box still manages to be safe because of double clutch by Houston infielder.
