Thank you I knew i was missing something in my head. That has to be it. Probably boosted significantly because of stolen bases and over all base running.

Admittedly I know nothing about wRC+. I know it's weighted runs created and whatever the plus is but that's all I know . Just by looking at the stats there I don't understand how Robert's is higher than Eloys, Eloy 2 more extra base hits, 15 more RBI, 6 more walks, 13 less K's, OBP about the same. Eloy slg. and OPS higher. I know their stats are very similar as is the wRC+ but strange to see Eloy's even slightly lower.

I am generally on your side in this. Just too few healthy PA's for Robert. We all are seeing that Robert will have the same problem as Eloy with the down and away breaking pitches But something you said made this click . Eloy had 3 X the minor league AB's and that still didn't help his ability to hit the MLB slider ? Why ? Because he wasn't seeing the best sliders in the world in AAA. Robert also plays with abandon, flying around in the OF and stealing bases. I'm really torn on this subject, I'd love to see him cut down on the K's and increase the walks in the minors for plate discipline reasons. I want him to also recognize those nasty breaking pitches earlier and what to look for in order to determine that they are not recognized in his head as fastballs. Baseball is one game that takes guys with great athletic abilities, a guy like Robert with quick reflexes, great hand eye coordination and embarrasses the hell out of them by taking advantages of the physical gifts and tricking him into using them . Can you learn to lay off more of those pitches by getting more experience in learning about when you should expect those kinds of pitches ? Once a pitcher gets ahead in the count you get exploited and your natural gifts are used against you. Jump on that 1st pitch fstball becuse he won't be seeing many once he gets behind in the count. Health is now always a question and he is healthy now. I fear waiting will just give him more chances to make a mess of his body. Yes I am paranoid now about injuries. I think he can learn more in the minors but he has to work on them and success often breeds contempt for change. He might have to experience the embarassment and failures of hitting against big league pitching in order to take changing seriously.

Congrats McCann. Me and Balta had some fun conversations about you. I won even though he took the popular "once you suck you always suck so I have a chance to be right about 95 % of the time" stance. Can't really blame him though.

The story gets better even time he writes it, which is often, Congrats to LuGio. I like calling him that . Sounds like an anime character. I'm not into that stuff but isn't there a Yu-Gi-o anime dude ?

Maybe he has more to do than just watch. Maybe they have him charting pitches . I have no idea how teams prepare a catcher to become a better all around catcher.

Robert hasn't had many healthy PA' though . Also Soto almost had a 1to 1 BB to K ratio while Robert is 1 BB for every 3 K's while we hear he goes fishing quite a bit after those low and away breaking pitches. That will be exploited greatly in the majors. I believe the kid is a huge talent even while other were doubting him and saying he was made of glass. I'd be fine with him waiting til next year and I'd also be fine with a call up that can get him at least 100 PA's but my preference is next year.

Sorry I was raised not allowed to curse and even though I do now when you say Daniel fucking Palka call them both bums it seems angry to me especially after only 2 games of Palka being recalled. Many here were begging for Palka to be called up and to be given another chance at least as a hitter. Rondon has made some nice contributions as a fielder and if you play the field that means you have to get AB's .As far as the PH today who knows why Renteria chose Palka and Rondon. Not wanting to put a rookie into a pressure situation, trusting the guys who have swung the bat more if not so successfully lately.

Not saying he shouldn't be getting more plate appearances just saying he has valuable lessons to learn from McCann. Why get so angry about him not getting a few PA's while he absorbs as much from McCann as he can ? Catcher's don't usually hit well and the reason we hear most often is because of the physical and mental demands of the position. Relax a little, let things play out. If you think Collins long term future depends on him getting a few extras PA's in the here and now then I don't know what to tell you.

Ok Pet peeve is seeing HOF talent label put on a guy who has a had a half season in the majors. Can we just say huge talent or something similar ?

Not missing the point and I didn't say anything about McCann getting PA's so maybe you are missing my point. Unless Collins is horrible he will be here when Palka and Rondon are gone There is no reason to be concerned that Collins isn't getting AB's every opportunity he gets. The AB's are coming here or in Charlotte but he gets a chance to work with a very good catcher and see how it's done. That in itself is just as valuable.
