Hard to belive we win much of anything with that OF but Tilson hasnt been terrible and the defense with those 3 is much better.

I think we see close to 20 promotion/demotions with all the accompanying emotions .

If the bullpen can stay as hot as they have been maybe the Sox can finagle a decent prospect by packaging a few of them together. Unfortunately it's a long way to the trade deadline giving the BP plenty of time to be bad again. That's just the life of relievers , There are reasons the Sox have played very close to .500 ball over the last 29 games and it's mostly the bullpen while dumping Fulmer and the emergence of Covey.

Avi 1 for 2 with a walk with Charlotte Tuesday night batting 2nd . Taken out early since it was his 1st game .

This was the 7th game in a row the bull pen has not given up a run. Remarkable !

Nice to see Davidson get a couple of doubles. He had been struggling since the back issues. Great pitching once again. Who are these guys ? Sweet start to the game with the back to back HR's by Moncada and Yolmer.

Finally beat the Indians at home. Good game .

During the Boston series didn't Stone say on one of the telecasts that Cooper said Giolito had a really good side session this week ? I guess we will find out if it translates tonight against all those good lefties on the Tribe.

I think Delmonico is going back to Charlotte when he is healthy. Thompson gets jettisoned . Tilson back in Charlotte too, when I'm not sure . Haven't figured out when Avi, Leury and Delmonico all are due back

This is pretty fair. Might be a bit generous unless you can go back and find a game in which Avi pulled up lame to pinpoint exactly when he started feeling the effects of the hamstring before he was put on the DL. I look forward to him re establishing some value if he can stay injury free for the rest of the year . Just makes the line up much better. Palka can go to LF. We haven't him seen at 1st base either Rotate Palka between OF , 1B and DH . Rotate Davidson between DH, 1st base and 3rd base, Abreu between DH and 1st base. All 4 of Avi, Abreu, Davidson Palka get rest depending on match ups. Guess we might be seeing Tilson CF soon ?

Sox won 2 of 3 at Boston who had the most home wins in baseball. White Sox hit 0 HR's in the series so the bullpen matched it by not allowing a run the whole series. Yolmer leading the league in triples and Abreu in doubles. Anderson great game showing off the wheels, range and batting eye. Palka showing why i call it Palkamania with the Hulk Hogan flex after his big hit after the Abreu IBB . 2 doubles one at 107 other one 116 MPH. His 2 ground outs were at 112.8 and 113.7 !

Amazing he can come right in after barely playing any ball in the last couple years and when he did he got injured 2 or 3 times and just start hitting. He has a lot of talent . I'd love to see him in W-S in early July to see how he does. No sense in thinking beyond that for now. Hitting and fielding aren't the only skills that need developing. Running and stealing does too.

It most likely will be the last season of being so quiet. There's a lot of big names out there the next 2 off seasons and Sox have a low payroll . The money is there to spend. Outside of repeating himself he can't really say much else. Sure don't want to be accused of tampering by mentioning a specific player. I really think you're just reading more into it than is there.

You're right, nothing to see there. Typical we'll analyze it when the time comes, Can't say now if there's any one particular player we are going after etc etc.

It would be so so very very cool to see Covey Rodon and Lopez all shut down the Red Sox. Especially with Rodon and Covey not on the staff most of the year. They might have to get some phantom injuries from more players to sustain the drive for a top 3 pick next year or have the pen implode again . They have been way too good lately.

Maybe want to provide some direct quotes or a link to the conversation ? If what you just said is true and the tape backs you up then that's headline news around here and worthy of its own thread. I know there could be multiple seasons in a row where the Sox hit the FA market but the 1st one is critical. Can't wait til any after that because it just limits the teams options.

I can't remember the last time the Yankees primarily used a RH hitting 1st baseman. With that short porch in RF they mostly want lefties playing 1st.

Yes I have brought that up many times in the past when discussing pitch framing also the pitchers reputation or even the hitters reputation. Look at Davidson. He has a rep as a K machine . Nothing before this year in his MLB career would suggest he has a good eye up there but he has made the adjustment but the umps haven't . With machines there are no reputations , no veteran or rookie treatment, just cold hard data.
