  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) Don't worry, when Hector is pulled after 5 shutout innings with 109 pitches, LaRoche will be used as a pinch-hitter. If Hector is pulled then with that many pitches hopefully we're ahead 5-2 and Rodon is throwing strikes and there's no need for The Rock to pinch hit. Santiago is a good kid. I couldn't blame him if he had a mental f u to the coaching staff who didn't believe in him . But not many fans did either. Santiago was like Avi is now, a few people see(saw) the upside but most see the flaws as a sign of permanent suckage.
  2. No LaRoche as a starter against a LH again. Hallelujah , they have seen the light. Took 'em long enough.
  3. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 04:43 PM) I haven't seen enough of Saladino to make any final judgements on him... not even close. Very reasonable. How dare you ! You must immediately pass judgement on a rookie !
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 02:02 PM) Again this team just good enough to lose. KC is the cat and the Sox are the mouse it plays with before the kill.
  5. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) Robin went after Nolan Ryan. Look at him with us now and you'd never know it He was younger and still a player. He has to reach back to his youth when that competitive fire burned . Don't think , react ! Go with your gut , when you're angry show it. Show you hate losing and do everything you can to prevent it. If you're going to go down, go down fighting and doing it your own way .
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 06:19 PM) My guess with Melky remains that he was clean for 2 months and then resumed breaking the rules and hoping the testing regime wouldn't catch him. Only possible way a guy goes from that punchless to suddenly having huge power. But aside from that, if 3-4 guys on a team in the regular lineup all struggle for 2 months and under-perform...and they're not hurt, yes, that's the kind of thing that should fall on the manager for not having them ready to go. Oh Balta at times you can make so much sense but then you say stuff like this . Maybe some players have ways to mask steroid use but most likely what you're saying is an unsubstantiated garbage because he was busted before.
  7. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:19 PM) It's going to be a glorious day when he's relieved of his duties. Just two months guys! You better calm down. You're going to be SOOOOO disappointed when he's back next year.
  8. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:19 PM) I think South was agreeing with you for the most part... Robin used to argue a little bit but anymore he just bends over. I'd love Robin to coach my 5 year old kid but not the White Sox. Yea we're all pretty much in agreement. Robin needs to be more of a jerk in that situation. A true leader might make guys work their asses off but he also shows them its for their own welfare and long term benefit and even though he might crap on them at times, no one else , not the other team not the umps, NO ONE else does and if they do they're going to get an earful !
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:11 PM) That's not in Robins nature. Won't help this team. They're pathetic. I'm not sure it's in Robin's nature or not. He may be laid back socially but sports is a different animal and your personality should be fiercely competitive on this level. I was always more of a jerk playing sports than I was in the normal world. Couldn't stand losing period. I'd probably be worse if I made a living at it . Maybe Robin just hasn't gone from cilvilian life and into the war zone very effectively . He's had lots of time to make that adjustment though so he really shouldn't be there any more.
  10. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:04 PM) It wouldn't change the outcome... but it's one of the many things that drives me crazy about Robin and the rest of them. They just bend over and take it.. Yea when you're pissed off about how your own team plays might as well take it out on the ump who was as crappy as the Sox were. At least shows your guys you give a damn about them. Inspire them, lead them , let them know you're not going to take s*** laying down and you 100% have their backs.
  11. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:00 PM) I just don't get it.. If I'm Robin or Cooper or anyone I'm out there throwing down on that. No way do I just walk out the ball park on that S**** No way. That umpire is a joke. I'd have to agree since my previous post I sounded like a pissed offed manager going after the ump.
  12. f*** Laz Diaz just insert yourself as the star you ahole . MF'er been calling balls strikes on the other side of the plate all night now calls one to end the game on the other side . Damn plate was 24 inches wide tonight with him.
  13. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 06:33 PM) Micah has hit his entire minor career and has proven to have a good eye and some power. Carlos has been a slap singles hitter when he repeats levels and s*** the bed the first time he had extended time in AAA and the majors. He had 2 awful, god awful, months and then 1 good one. Micah, in his first look at major league pitching, put up a respectable line. Sanchez just won't ever be a good hitter. This might be themost biased thing I have ever read. ANd you're totally omitting defense which I understand means something in this sport. I love Micah too and thought the Sox made the right choice with him over Sanchez at the start of the season.. And i am a huge proponent of defense so yea i thought the difference between their offense was like you do now. But open your eyes man Sanchez can throw some hot leather out there and has really improved a lot hitting. He's exactly the kind of guy we have all been begging for, a guy who can rise above the Sox inability to develop players and show he can stick and play offense and defense.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 06:21 PM) WAR will not be that high, 1.5 tops Sanchez has put up .8 WAR in the last month alone.
  15. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 06:15 PM) Sanchez is not an ML starter. 2nd is a position you can find offense at. He's a good sub but not a starter on a winning team. Surprised to hear anyone saying this with the way he has played since the terrible start. He may hit .275 next year and plays stellar defense. Might be worth 2-3 WAR next year.
  16. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 06:05 PM) Not really but guys we get that have been good come here and suck. Is that bad luck or an organizational flaw ? I mean its no wonder we hear LaRoche being called LaDunn. Left handed NL player who K's and walks a lot with low batting average and big shifts on them defensively who can't hit lefties yet always play against lefties. The similarities are striking yet the front office went after LaRoche regardless.
  17. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 05:56 PM) LaDunn needs to quit. That would help a lot but even then do you trust the front office to do any good with the extra $13M ?
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 12:42 PM) Gonna be hot with game starting at 6 and stadium baking in 90s. KC 10, Chicago 4.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 10:12 AM) If anyone remembers, he was traded for Brett Myers. Houston released him obviously and Sox got him back. He has done well, I could see him on the Recchia plan. Just was wondering if he'll have to be put on the 40 or be a minor league free agent soon .
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 01:09 PM) The average OPS in baseball among 3b is .747 this year. That's still 50 points higher than 2b and 75 points higher than SS. I just don't know if defense is enough to make up for Saladino's offense there if he's a .650-.700 OPS ish player...at least not on this roster unless there's someone else who is above average and actually producing runs. I should be the last one using WAR but Saladino has already built up a .7 WAR in just 24 games ,most of it on defense but he's shown some power . If no one else is an upgrade defensibly and he can pop 10-15 HR's he'll be ok there. I highly doubt Alexei will be gone. Just don't see it happening when they can't even rid themselves of Flowers when he was basically a non tender candidate .
  21. Would love to see Coats there. He could be a good possibility to make the White Sox 40 man roster if he finishes the season strong and has a good AFL.
