Hahn said Castillo is "not a fit" and "maybe if he was left handed."
Isn't that exactly what I said just a few posts ago ? I tell ya I'm on top of things

Can't really wait much longer for the game thread.
Royals had the dreaded players-only meeting today
Just got back from work. Good job starting the thread without me. It's Greek Heritage Night so make your own joke about what the Sox are going to do with the Royals .

This game thread was started seconds after this post....You're in my head Cali.
Normally I don't do the starting lineup or I would have had it up quicker and your head isn't such a bad place to be .
Time to get back on the winning track and who better than Chris (Condor ) Sale to do it.
Rock 'Em Sock 'Em White Sox !
Starting lineup Eaton 8, Ramirez 6, Abreu 3 , Dunn DH , Viciedo 9, Gillaspie 5, De Aza 7, Beckham 4, Flowers 2, Sale 1
From what I've read he started as a utility infielder backing up and 3rd and 2nd base. Most likely wasn't very good so moved to the outfield . Not an on base guy at all and didn't hit very well in his last year in Cuba. He right handed and has decent pop for his size. I've seen reports on his size from 5'8" 170 to 5'9" 200 but reports are he's short and muscular and carries it well.
He might not be an instant major leaguer. The Sox probably won't pursue him that hard. I'm going to guess he signs a 4 yr /$10-15 M contract without knowing much at all about him. If he was left handed Sox might be more interested.
Yay Sox win. Boo Sox silliness in the 1st on offense 2nd on defense. Yay Q . Boo no decision for Q . Yay bullpen.. Yay Flowers you got a GWRBI with a double. Boo Flowers job is now secure for the rest of the season.

Replay review is bulls***. He was clearly safe.
He beat the throw but looks like his foot started down and right before it got to home it came up. I mean like maybe an inch before it was going to hit home.

still like it?
Uh huh. I think it was one of the more optimistic ones and accurate ones. Probably will surpass my HR and RBI totals easily but if he starts getting walked a lot and the long season affects him things can change. His avg. now is .292 , I put .301. OBP now .346 I put .360. OPS now .972 I put .910 .

His pickoff of Sammy Sosa shortly after he walked to become the only Texas baserunner of the night during his no-hitter is a big reason I might prefer that game to the Perfecto. Replace the Outfielder Weiss catch in the Perfect Game with a standard ground out or K and it wouldn't even be close.

What is sad is we won't contend with those type of #'s being put up by our best players. I really hope we don't waste these guys primes cause you never know what can happen the next year.
Yep , unfortunately rebuilding shouldn't be a rush job ideally but circumstances such as not wasting our best players best years may force Hahn's hand. If there's not a lot of movement in July and August by Hahn there will be a huge off season of activity. Hahn getting the key guys he goes after is crucial.
