  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) I'd cream my pants if we signed Bonds. I'm all for it, and have been for a while now. I would suggest the privacy of your closet. Not going to happen. Plus unless Barry got knee replacement I am not certain he would be healthy enough to last a full season. No doubt he was a great peformer, but his days are done I believe
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 04:56 PM) Im sick of the Red Sox using the Marlins as their personal farm system. Its like they sent Hanley for some major league seasoning if this trade actually happens Considering all we have is KC I would agree. If Florida traded Hanley I would reclassify them AAA
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 04:47 PM) I'd rather bring back Thome. Thome IS a better fit
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 08:09 PM) Well, Dotel made $6.5 million last year. Boston declined the $6 million option on this guy this year. Maybe its a rather large assumption, but I don't think he gets $6 million, let alone $6.5 million, which would make him cheaper than Dotel. I don't disagree that he might make less money. I am guessing a lot of free agents are going to be dissapointed. I fact the new bargainig fellow for the union may be pressured into filing a law suit against the MLB owners for collusion. I liked Dotel but I know some others here don't. Not sure what we might end up with this off season
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 26, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) Watched it last night. Highly recommended. I never heard of it, but now I am going to have to check it out
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 02:52 AM) I bet Contreras is here because of a recommendation by Iguchi. Any reports of a major league club interested in Jose? A healthy Jose could be a plus for some team
  7. QUOTE (Cubano @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 03:01 AM) My bad. I recall now he had a son with his first wife shortly after she came. Somehow that makes perfect sense
  8. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 07:35 PM) Cubs also interested. Would be a nice pick up, perhaps the Sox could offer him the closer's spot as incentive to take less money. http://www.npbtracker.com/2009/11/free-age...ishi-kobayashi/ Where does Bobbie Jenks fit in here?
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 07:46 PM) He'd fit right in with the youth movement. Seriously, he wouldn't be a bad pick up. Probably would take Dotel's role for less money. Why should we expect to hand over a role to someone and for them to take less money? If there is a lot of bidding going on wouldn't they take the most money? Maybe there is something about Japanese baseball I don't know-well there are alot of things actually-but money is the lure to signing any free agent IMO.
  10. I needed the link translated except for the pictures of the ladies at the bottom of the page B)
  11. Wise endeared himself to management by giving it his all and to MB and the fans for that fantastic catch. I was still sorry to see Brian Anderson leave though even if he wasn't living up to his potential
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 27, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) I would jump for joy if we can get Okajima, Bard, and Ellsbury. Seems kind of unrealistic. It is and the folks we would be giving up simply opens more holes in our line up
  13. QUOTE (scenario @ Nov 27, 2009 -> 06:54 PM) I have a hard time seeing him stick on the major league roster. It'll make a heck of a story if he pulls it off. Too bad he's not left handed. I agree. There is always a need for a lefty
  14. If we have a diamond in the rough wehat are the chances of him sticking with the Sox organization at all?
  15. If we were actually looking at a DH that sat out last year I'd raher it be the Big Hurt. At least he is a fan favorite
  16. We could compete in a trade like this and trade a number of prospects, but at what point do you think we have stripped the system enough? Of course with PK going to LAA they will have to kick in at least one or two and us a couple don't you think? Not sure this is really a doable trade though
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) Both Q and Rios seemed to be ripping the ball the last week. It was a bit too late but I liked how it looked. I thought so too. Q being healthy will be a major plus don't you think? And Rios settling in and working with Walker hopefully spells a productive Rios.
  18. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 08:38 PM) His OPS was right around .900 when his hamstring started bothering him last year (about 250 PA into his season, beginning of August), it turned out to be a strain and he spent 15 days on the DL because of it. He was having a hell of a year as a part time player before his hamstring started acting up. I was thinking he had shown progress with Texas and was rebounding from that horrendous LA expereince
  19. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 08:00 PM) As long as they're not planning on plugging him into the lineup. That'd be disappointing to say the least. I guess as a reserve/bench player it's ok. I am guessing he can still field above average. Still looking for that big splash when we sign a lead off hitter
  20. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) Neither player will be offered arbitration. KW got lucky with O-Cab last year. He's not going play that same game again, especially with two guys that seem like they'd want to come back. Do you think though that at least Dye wil be offered arb? Am I wrong to think that if he isn't we don't get compensdation from whoever signs him?
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) Look, you havent been here very long and posts like these from you seem to be the norm, stop with the condescending remarks. Thank you for saying that. I have to agree it really is not necessary to post stuff like that whether it is about me or someone else. We all have our opinions and have a right to post them, but not be insulting
  22. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Whatever baseball credibility you had is now gone. Listen Coco I have hit some fungos in my lifetime plus I also know something about shoulder surgeries
  23. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 12:35 AM) Putting Tyler Flowers of the career 27 MLB innings behind the plate in charge of a rotation of Peavy-Buehrle-Floyd-Danks-Garcia would indeed be "shocking." Agreed. Not going to happen nor should it
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 12:37 AM) How does arm strength fit into that UZR stat? Rios I'd say has been slightly better in CF but it does sorta vary. Too many stats. I ask you in the name of Babe Ruth.. what about heart man?!
