  1. I've been pleasantly surprised with both of them...especially Kevan Smith who actually way surpassed any expectations I had for him. Neither one will win a Gold Glove...but for now...adequate.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 03:37 PM) My prediction is Delmonico splits LF/DH with Granderson Why do you think Granderson fathom? I'm not seeing any purpose for bringing him in honestly.....
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 19, 2017 -> 01:47 PM) As of now, I'd predict it to look like this: 1. Leury Garcia CF 2. Yoan Moncada 2B 3. Jose Abreu 1B 4. Casey Gillaspie DH 5. Matt Davidson 3B 6. Nick Delmonico LF 7. Ryan Cordell RF 8. Kevan Smith C 9. Tim Anderson SS I could live with that lineup... ya know...if for some reason MiGo doesn't go anywhere...or get any substantial offers in the offseason...I'd have no problem bringing him back on another 1-2 year deal similar to this years.
  4. I guess I'm in the camp that Tilson will never sniff the field with the big team. Just not counting on...or planning anything from him.
  5. at this point the Cards wouldn't surprise me at all. Like most have said...just how the hell a contender passed on him is mind boggling. It's not like he has this massive contract...
  6. Coops comments on Rodon lol.... "We came up with some stuff," Cooper said. "That's what's going through his head now instead of (him) thinking, 'Is it my left earlobe? Is it my right testicle? Is it my left big toe?' This is your key. This is the only thing you have to lean on if something ain't right." Personally...I thought he looked a tad flat last night...but still hadvery good results against against a very good team. He sure looks like an Ace out there lately...
  7. ok...this right handed Moncada needs to go....enough already.
  8. hahaaa.....WOW!!!!! You go Nick....
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 09:32 PM) Really wish they just keep Yoan batting 2nd. Saladino and Sanchez are dreadful hitting now I'm really tired of Saladino. I don't hate him...he's solid on the field for the most part...but good lord he's an automatic out. Had really high hopes for him starting the year.
  10. Rowand did just make a good point about the mound (being different). Might sound goofy...but every mound is a little different...and whoever the other pitcher is (and the hole they dig).
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 09:15 PM) For three years, I haven't been a fan when he tries to get away with throwing 91-92 the first few innings yeah...he just looks a tad "off" tonight. Not bad results so far....but tonight it just seems like "Rodon Lite". Not seeing the release point...follow thru with heat.
  12. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 09:15 PM) There are several posters who have been high on him for a while now, but the reality is his numbers will come back to earth as his .455 BABIP regresses to the mean. I'm still ecstatic about his performance though, especially for a rookie. I hear ya...hear all you guys and thanks for the responses. What I'm seeing...he carried it over from ST where he was solid the entire spring. I know it's happened before with guys having great springs...but it's nice to see him carry over to this level. Good for him....
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 09:10 PM) Rodon doesn't seem comfortable at all yeah...he looks like he's "tossin"....
  14. Honest question...how did the Sox leave camp with Asche over Delmonico? I know it happens...but geez. Nick was raking in ST too....
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 08:49 PM) I do like Bennetti, but he's killing poor Rowand with all the questions and jokes tonight. He's about as interesting as a cold sore with Benetti tonight...
  16. not that it's here nor there...and just gonna throw this out there...but I prefer the shiny helmets over the matte black.
  17. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 06:26 AM) That should pay a big chunk of Luis Robert's bonus. that's what immediately came to my mind....
  18. I always loved Ozzie...but his act was really starting to wear pretty thin. I don't blame JR for taking this stance...plus...I don't think I'd let Oz anywhere near a young team starting to mold...besides being the obvious fact of a possible PR nightmare at any given moment.
  19. they're taggin' Wood pretty well...and he knows it.
