  1. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) THANK YOU!!! finally someone else agrees with me that we need to use shingo more. He needs to pitch every day or every other day to stay affective, if he has long periods off, he preformance isnt as good. shingo will be fine. dont worry bout him....he is the least of worries Yeah, that's the ticket. Let's pitch a reliever every day to stay sharp; nice work!
  2. Recruiting, as in NCAA 2004, 2005, etc. football, could be awesome in the baseball game. However, it's still awfully disappointing and I doubt I'll drop the $40+ on it.
  3. 32 years old? BRING OUT YOUR DEAD!!! Happy Birthday!
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) They want to give him more playing time? So, they're sacrificing contributions to the major league team so a 26 or 27 year old can get consistent AB's? I don't buy it. I'm callin' BS. And, You tried making an argument for Timo "winning" us two games. Well, If you want to use that nonsensical bulls***, I can just as easily make an argument for Timo losing for us several games. It goes both ways, bud... Excellent post; I'm with ya all the way. Some of that analysis is really out-there.
  5. My posted lineup has just been verified. 3B Ozuna 2B Iguchi DH Thomas 1B Konerko LF Everett RF Dye CF Rowand C Widger SS Uribe
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 10:18 AM) 1. The move hasn't been made yet, other things can happen ...still fishing for that trade?
  7. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) The same boneheaded moves people complained about in the offseason are the ones that have us in first place. If Willie getting sent down, when at any time we could have him back up, loses you with a club with the best record in baseball, I have to say you have issues. Geez, has anyone considered that they want Willie to have more consistant playing time for when we may need him more down the stretch. Once you guys have your mind made up, that's it. You don't even consider what the true reasoning may be. All of you can think Ozzie is stupid or whatever, but the fact remains that he has this club playing good baseball. If that doesn't do it for you, maybe you should get a Knights hat and watch Willie down there. Listen bub, I think you ought to refamiliarize yourself with my post history before typing something as ignorant as that. A) I loved every move this off-season save one--Orlando Hernandez. B ) I loath Willie Harris with every inch of my being. You have no idea what the f*** you are talking about. C) Getting Willie consistant playing time for when we need him down the strech? Excuse me for a moment won't you. Timo Willie You make the call.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 09:49 AM) Rowand should be batting ahead of Carl, no ifs ands or buts about it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I may have mis-heard. Perhaps Rowand is batting above Carl. Regardless, that's a good look at what today's lineup will be.
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) Bad f***ing move. Dump Timo, what the hell is going on here? Ozuna should be dumped before Willie. ^^^ This is awful. Willie needs to stay with this club. Period. Yup, I said it. Upper management is really starting to lose me with all these bonehead decisions.
  10. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 09:45 AM) Wow...just wow.... Could you be a more gullible tool for the Cubbie biased media. First off Thomas couldn't get us ANYTHING. Second I have no doubt that he is anything but a total team player. Also anyone who honestly believes that we can win this division without a strong Thomas back in the lineup you have been drinking way too much ozzieball koolaid. The fact is we have the best record in baseball somehow in spite of Frank being out, certainly not because of it. When the schedule gets tougher Carl and his .230 batting average and poor OBP certainly isn't going to cut it. We need Thomas. This has nothing to do with reading what the media provides. Losing Everett would be a bad move; that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Crazier things have happened, if Kenny can find someone to take on Frank and that dinosaur of a contract, I'm all for it. I'm looking for production, not legacy. That's it folks, I'm out for the day. That's my just my two cents, relax.
  11. Today's official Lineup White Sox 3B Ozuna 2B Iguchi DH Thomas 1B Konerko LF Everett RF Dye CF Rowand C Widger SS Uribe
  12. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) No one is going to pay Thomas $18-16M for the rest of 2005 & 2006. Not even the NYY$'s. So are you now advocating the WSox pick up part of his contract to trade him? That's ridiculous. I truly believe that a happy, healthy Carl will be more productive this season in a pennant race then a sour Frank Thomas; if that means picking up part of that contract, so be it. Frank doesn't seem to be on board with these new-look White Sox. I'm not going to start a war with you or read 35 pages of non-sensical stats; I just want Carl to stay. I'm looking for W's in a pennant race, not a Frank Thomas legacy in a Sox uniform; trading Carl Everett would be a horrible move and I'd really hate to see him go over Frank. EDIT: FWIW, I believe this is Frank's last year on the Southside despite what either he or Reinsdorf says.
  13. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 06:37 AM) Everett getting dealt makes the most sense. He's relatively cheap, and has proved he's healthy. Ana. really needs a DH. With their depth,[in AAA and on their MLB roster] the sox could use any number of their guys ATL may be another decent option. Thomas getting dealt makes the most sense. This is his last year as a member of the Chicago White Sox; why not test the waters to see what kind of player he could net? EDIT: This is a very odd sensation: I'm endorsing the trading of Frank Thomas. Dear Frank, The Sox got off to the best record in baseball without you. You are either with the program or you're not; like it or lump it. Thanks for your contributions throughout the years and we wish you the best of luck. Cheers, AddisonStSox
  14. Damnit Ozzie, I really, really want to be 20 games over .500. Make it happen.
  15. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) Why are you using Netscape to begin with? I ain't. I'm using Firefox.
  16. HELP ME!!!! I have no problems with my family's desktop, but on my laptop I have this popping up: Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library The plugin performed an illegal operation. You are strongly advised to restart Navigator.
  17. I think I would actually pay five dollars to ensure the WNBA would be omitted from the sports sections in the papers.
  18. I think the Tribe is doing the rain dance with a guy named Jason Davis toeing the rubber. I'm hoping the game can at least start on time.
  19. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) all the 2k series did was purchase the right to have the names and players....it will still play the same. EA owns the way their game plays. Then I'm confused. Does the 2k series now own a monopoly of sorts of the MLBPA? How can something like that happen? I suppose I'm just finding it difficut to comprehend how EA could f*** up something this severely--allowing a monopoly to happen.
  20. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) the engine is the way the game plays, so this NCAA game will play like MVP this year. I understand that, but will the 2k series feature the MVP engine or did they simply purchase the rights of MLB and the MLBPA?
  21. The Sox possessing the best record in baseball doesn't grant them immunity. Currently, they are letting the Twins back in the race for the division, losing serious ground as we approach the break. Have they been a blast to watch? Yes. Have they offered a whole lot to be excited about? Yes. But, there are many die-hard fans on here that reserve the right to express their disappointments if they wish.
  22. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) the MLB license was bought out by take two, so the only MLB baseball game that can come out w/ real players/teams is the MLB series. So since EA can't make an MLB game, they are going to create a college baseball game w/ the same MVP engine. So, what happens with the MVP MLB engine? Is that done with? Do I seriously have to go out and buy 2005 just because there won't be a similar 2006? This effing sucks.
  23. Wait one gosh darn second; I've just discovered the genius of MVP 05' and now you're telling me there isn't going to be an 06'? Unreal. My question to you: Is there going to be a game put out that's virtually identical to MVP 2005 or will the one baseball game I finally deem worthy simply become extinct? I'm bummed in a major way.
