AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX DIVISION WINNER!!!!
Punch and Judy Garland replied to AddisonStSox's topic in 2005 Season in Review
I haven't read the thread but any clue what time our game may be on Tuseday? We know its at home ( i think) so we won't play a 9pm game. -
Yep. It appears that the movie Jurassic Carl: The Los Swing is over. It feels good to not feel doomed again. We can finally get excited about October

That would be win number 99 for Freddy. Looks like Game 2 of next season he can grab win number 100. Nice job by Freddy stepping up today. Big ballparks like that suit his style well

Please don't shoot me

Who said lose on purpose? I know that some of you are self-absorbed but even you guys can realize that when you "root" for a team, it doesn't actually, you know, influence the outcome. -

I guess I stand corrected on one thing. If the Yanks were to run the table then Cleveland would win the wild card even if we tie them due to better head2head. The only way we get in a divisional one gamer is is Boston/Yanks tied Cleveland and us for a three way tie. That said, I still think one-game playoffs are among the best parts of baseball history and it'd be cool to be a part of that -
Look, I know that we'd all like to wrap this thing up and all but hear me out. I kind of want the Yankees to run the table to win the East and for us to tie Cleveland for the division. I say this because of how memorable one-game playoffs truly are. THink back to Angels-Mariners or the Sawx/Yanks for the Bucky Dent game. I will celebrate us making the playoffs when we win the division but there is a large part of me that knows how great a one-game playoff to move on or go home would be in Chicago on Monday afternoon. It would be an electric atmosphere

I just got here. Did Carl REALLY get two triples in two days? Maybe he can give Pods tips on running the bases!
-
I would tend to think so. I am not sure if it being the Sawx/Yanks would change anything but I would for the Angels without much hesitation. That said, I admit this flies into the face of what I've recently said about it having to be Mark

I think we have to win a series and then be competitive in the ALCS for it to be a success. Unfortunately, we aren't really an up and coming team so our window isn't very big. Depending on how a few situations go liek Konerko, Frank, and any trades-this might be our best shot over the next few years

Arroyo is vastly overrated. Anyways, I have decided this is the forum for me to apologize and eat crow for the Cuban Pitching Crisis jokes all summer. El Duque is surely horrible but Jose has been excellent. I would even say, depending on the opponent, I'd consider giving him the ball in game one. Most likely if that were Anaheim. Hats off to Jose, I'm hoping you are here agian next year

Need more optimism??? Why the Moccasins are done.
Punch and Judy Garland replied to watchtower41's topic in Pale Hose Talk
sorry kapkomet, you are dead wrong here. We are not NEARLY as affected by winds and bad weather as other teams. Didn't you watch the first Cubs series? There is a reason we were the best team in baseball when the weather sucked. It favors our style -
Decision Time Approaching For Crede...
Punch and Judy Garland replied to bjm676's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Apparently Crede has that certain something the French call "I don't know" that statistics don't show. Who the hell is he, Derek Jeter? When did he become Mr. Intangible. Some of the channels besides Comcast show baseball guys and you should watch some non-White Sox games if you think Joe Crede is in the top half of overall thrid basemen. -
He took more money to go there rather than stay in Oakland. It's funny how guys go to the team that will pay more than any other team will when their value is at its peak. Then they think someone else will want them when they make a lot of money and have an era over 6. Keith is kind of a little b**** if you ask me

That team relies more on Furcal and Giles causing havoc than Jones. Plus, Chipper-when he's been helahty-has been huge for that offense. This is the MVP, not the HR title
