  1. Maybe if Howard hadn't come up and mashed they'd think about it. Best case now is Garland for Howard and I'd probably not do that. Howard is arguably the 05 Rookie of the Year and may have forced Jim thome out of Philly.
  2. Do you remember when Paulie came out to "big Pimpin"? That was embarrassing.
  3. I actually don't think this one will re-air next week on HBO because of the huge Smauel Peter-Wlad Kiltschko showdown and the Miguel Cotto undercard. I could be wrong but I don't think we'll see this one again. I probably won't order it though because I'm in college and ppor
  4. without me by eminem had a long run in the past
  5. I'd probably juice too if I was a 7th round fullback.
  6. PPV card with Shane Mosley and Marco Antonio Barrera fighting in separate bouts. Should be good action. Both should win but Erik Morales' fight proved last week that you just never know until you fight the guy in front of you.
  7. we'll see if Manny for Beltran happens instead of Hunter to Boston but that is a possibility
  8. Yeah Hermy really f***ed me in era last night. I traded Mariano Rivera for Clemens when Halladay went down. I have Hermy, Coco Cordero and Fernando Rodney and they never seem to pitch in games. I got a lot of mileage out of Dustin but he;s just been an absent fantasy closer since June or so
  9. Yeah Hawk fired Tony. Weird too because Hawk says Latin managers are the best. Tony must have learned how to manage from 85 to 2005:)
  10. Actually I need Hermy to pitch for me in the fantasy playoffs. THank you very much!
  11. I mentioned this in the game thread but I forgot people stop reading those after the game I'm an Ozzie fan but have you noticed how Tony La Russa is able to get his teams to keep their foot on the pedal even though they have nothing to play for? That's the difference between great managing and a good manager who doesn't have the experience.

  13. What does this mean to me? Sound slike we get more Cubs-Sawx-Yanks on espn per the new deal. We get blacked out those Mon/Wed games so this is a non-factor unless you live in Iowa like you do
  14. I'm gonna bump this because its just 9 days out and someone might have heard something by now. Just to mention, I got this from csac.biz which is a pay-site and figured one of our Sox people might have heard of it. THanks a million. I'll be home from school that weekend so I might as well pick up his autograph and shake his hand
  15. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) Let's just hope he isn't traded during the offseason for a good, but slightly overrated starting pitcher Well I'd take Mark Mulder for him now but I get your point.
  16. BMAC=2004's Danny Haren. Young guy stepped up big in the playoffs. Brandon can do the same
  17. They do a pretty good job of picks after round one though, I'll give them that. Charles Tillman and Briggs are two big examples of that. Hopefully out of Wade, Gage and Berrian they get one of those guys to be a number two receiver in this league
  18. I thought the trade down in 03 ( the grossman-haynes year) was a dumb pick and I thought the Benson pick was unimaginative the day they happened. If anything history has proven me right as Leftwich was clearly the pick there but I won't dump on Benson yet although I would have gone with Derrick Johnson or Mike Williams. Mariotti's article seems a tad overreactionary in week one but he didn't say anything that wasn't really true. This team has just never properly valued the QB position.
  19. No. It's only two runs so far tonight. Also, Garland and Garcia haven't been otehrworldly lately. Also, I can't think of a worse thing for the lockerroom or for Buehrle's confidence than to start someone else.
  20. Try these for rules when you are drinking with your buddies: If one player fails to put any of his four bags on or in, he must do a thirty second ab routine. If both players put all four of their bags on or in then a community drink is in order (half-beer). If oen player puts three in the hole-the opposing team must shotgun beers. Just some stuff that has spiced up the local games. We haven't done the ab routine at a beer garden but I'm sure it would be embarrassing enough to curb people missing. You never take a throw off with these rules.
  21. I tned to buy into the multi-lefties system that guys like Ozzie (well Manuel had 3 too) and Tony La Russa like. That said, there is no disputing that Anaheim and Florida were able to win chamipnships without a real lefty reliever who pitched in important situations. So yes, just getting lefties out is more important than having a lefty, and Marte and Cotts sort of leave something to be desired in that category (although Cotts seems better against lefties over the recent past).
  22. Eh. I don't know. Not a lot of inspiring choices there. As much as I don't care for Crede, I don't think Pablo will do much against October power pitching (neither will Crede) so I'd take Crede's D but am hoping for another option in 06.
  23. I see B-Mac will be doing some type of autograph thing on 9-24-05 in the area but do not know where and what time and if there is any restriction. Anyone privy to this info? Thanks and if its a good deal maybe a lot of us can make it there.
  24. I agree that Rowand has a legit shot. Don't really see anyone else. Who will win pitcher? The gambler missed time so I guess it could be one of ours.
