  1. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) Just you. He needs to take the most shots per game if not curry. No more of this hinrich bulls***. He is not a shooting guard yet he thinks he is. He shoots a highers percentage than... iverson, bryant, mcgrady, allen, arenas, pierce, etc. Ok, Like I said, I haven't seen enough of him to make a total opinion. It just seemed like every time he touched the ball tonight, he was shooting.
  2. Is it just me or does Ben Gordon shoot way too much? I just got the Comcast channel and have only seen a couple of games, but I watched this one tonight from the beginning and it just seems to me he shoots a lot.
  3. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) You lost all credibility right there. In order for Borch to even sniff the starting RF job the following guys would have to get hurt first. Dye Everett Timo Gload Harris Escobar ...and even then it's questionable they'd let him start. I realize it was in green but knowing your views you might seriously think that. I didn't know he even had any credibility to begin with.
  4. QUOTE(JoshPR @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) Not only that. Borchard hit .280 :rolly yes, but it was only in 15 AB's
  5. His poor little feelings are hurt. It just seems like he can't believe that The Sox would have to view his medical records before bringing him back. Good thing KW isn't stupid.. I had no idea Maggs Comerica park numbers were so bad. I hope he and The Tigers are miserable in The AL Central cellar for many many years.
  6. QUOTE(TLAK @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 07:00 AM) I always liked Dave Wills and his description of the green latrine as the Shrine. He is a correct thinking individual. He has said on the air that doing play by play for a MLB team is his career ambition and the pre/post game job is part of 'paying his dues'. If he gets the job I'll miss him but God bless him and good luck! Wills is posting over at WSI under a similiar thread using the screen name Bump34. He confirmed he got the job. Willsy is gone.
  7. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 06:48 AM) Don't take that example of the ignorance of youth personally. Yet, it's something that shouldn't be brushed aside or excused because of that youth. I'm glad you gave him that rant. He had it coming, and some day he'll realize it. As for those of us that have been around while, know that you are appreciated for the service and protection that you provide to your community. Thank-you for your words YAS, thank-you. I have learned not to take anything personally. I'm not that much older, (26) but I was lucky enough to catch my break early. I'll admit, I had my first my drink, in fact, I had many before 21, but I would have never blamed anyone except myself if I would have gotten caught. And if I would have gotten caught, I would have been on my knees thanking the man upstairs if all I got was asked to leave the bar, especially in the town I grew up in. Not to mention what would have happened when I got home and my Dad waiting for me.
  8. QUOTE(shagar69 @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) i was at a bar tonite, talkin to this chick, and the f***in cops have to show up. they caught like 6 people underage drinking, pretty much forcing anybody who wasnt 21 to leave. WTF is that. I mean cmon, its a wed. night. Leave us the f*** alone. f*** THA POLICE! For 6 years I have been doing the job and seems like every day that I hear something or see something new that makes me shake my head in disbelief. And after reading your post, today is no different, and it's my day off. shagar, I don't know where your at and I can't speak for the police force there, but you got off easy. I hope when you sober up and read this today, you realize how stuid that really was. I'm very thick skinned, so the f*** the police comments and everything else do not bother me. But, I will never figure out stupidity. Sorry for the rant, but I'm just shaking my head :headshake

  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 03:53 AM) Dye batted 4th for the A's most of the season, right behind Eric Chavez when they were both healthy. I didn't think he batted 3rd there either. He just seems like a better fit in the 4 thru 6 slots.
  11. Wasn't Chelios going to play for The Chicago Wolves at one time?
  12. Where did Dye hit in the Oakland batting order? Maybe this is just me, but I have a big problem with Dye hitting 3rd. I'm assuming that Frank will be 3rd when he gets back, but I think I'd rather have Rowand there until that hapens.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 06:47 AM) Let it be written. Let it be done. I will start the eulogy: Please feel free to say good-bye to Magglio Magglio, Thank-you for your time on The Southside and good luck to you where ever you end up playing. I have moved on, Go Sox.
  14. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) Here's my take on it: I'm grateful. I'm grateful for the memories of Magglio in a Sox uniform. I'm grateful that he DIDN'T take the Sox' offer before his knee blew out. I'm grateful that the White Sox decided to try a different approach rather than trotting out the exact same lineup with the exact same result as the past 4 years. I don't hate Magglio, and I don't wish him any ill will....except an 0-for-any series he plays against the Sox. Right On I'm proposing that we lay to rest any more Magglio threads unless it is news of him signing in the rumors thread. (Kind of like a mock Magglio funeral, similiar to what Weber did last year for Self) The Magglio era on the Sothside of Chicago is over.
  15. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) Thats simple, Trade away Dye.. How simple is it really? If Jermaine Dye is a reason for your success, are you going to trade him away at the relatively cheap price you have him for? I say no. IMHO, Anderson goes back down to Charlotte for a little bit more seasoning. There is always the chance he could pull a Crede and regress in that second year of extended service time in The AL. If, The Sox are doing poorly in '06, then trade Dye at the deadline, because he will be a FA anyway and give Anderson another chance in the 2nd half to see what he can do again. Kind of like an audition, similiar to what Borchard had (and failed miserably) in 2004.
  16. QUOTE(AirScott @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) this wouldn't make sense. Crede is just coming off a bad year, he'll give us .280-25-85. Weaver is inconsistent, Contreras is inconsistent. Weaver doesn't have Contreras' stuff, so there's no way this trade could go through. I would say .260 to .270, but yor right on with The HR and RBI.
  17. Black Sox, 2 questions, who is that in your avatar? And why did you take the tease away, I would watch for hours just hoping she would take it off, just once.
  18. I find it funny that he called Frank and washed up old dude, but puts an injured every year Juan Gonzalez into a line-up he calls a powerhouse. Hey Indians: Just
  19. Looking at those cards closely. Although he is bigger, he's not Sammy bigger. I say no way has he used them.
  20. I voted for The Cubs too. Something tells me that eventually this guy is going to be back and putting up his usual numbers. Less damage to The Sox if he's on The Northside.
  21. QUOTE(TLAK @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 06:17 PM) Bob Wickman has been a MLB pticher for 12 years and has 169 saves to date. That's considerably better than nothing, + Melido Perez. Sax hit .235 with 20 errors at 2b for us. -Its was a very, very bad deal for the White Sox. It turned out to be a very bad trade, yes. No doubt about it. But, I don't question him doing the trade. Who knew Sax was going to bomb. I still, to this day, don't think that George Bell for Sosa was a bad deal. Long term, of course it was. But for what The Sox needed at that time, it turned out well. The Cubs got a prospect who panned out, it happens all the time. See Jason Varitek from Seattle's system to Boston for Heathcliff Slocumb.
  22. Can someone help me? I remember Hawk doing the call, but I just can't for the life of me remember the game itself and the whole c'mon Timo play.
  23. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 02:08 AM) What you thought i looked like this guy just cause i post alot? Where did you get that picture of me?
  24. I have mulling over this whole Magglio thing. I was really pissed off at him at first, but then I decided that it was probably for the better. Obviously, if he would have signed then this Sox team would still have a lot of holes. Magglio was a fan favorite here, never started any problems and was a true professional. He did a lot of great things in a Sox uniform and as a Sox fan, I will always liek him for that. As is unavoidable in all sports, contracts expire and players switch team. I'm going to do a complete 180 and say good luck Maggs wherever you go. Just don't go North.
  25. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) Sorry i annoy you. Giants??
