4/19 Gamethread: Sox (10-6) at Rays (7-10); 6:10; WGN
When Buehrle misses up in the zone, he is really hittable. His stuff isn't good enough to overcome missing his spots.

QUOTE (SnB @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 08:57 AM) he's a legend, but he's been there the past couple years as well. I'm told that's Mr. Windy City Limo.

Carlos Quentin
QUOTE(IowaSoxFan @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) Quentin has played well in the time he has had and Ozzie will be out in a tough spot when Owens comes back as it will be hard for him to justify sitting Quentin if he keeps performing. But a week into the season I am not ready to call him a core player for the future. We can all remember the show that Casey "The Babe" Shelton put on in Detroit and now he is struggling to make a major league roster. He has potential to be a great player if he can maintain his level of play. His performance must have really stuck with you. His name is Chris Shelton (honest mistake). I'm ready to call Quentin a vital part of the team's future. He's a plus defender (despite the inexcusible lack of focus error yesterday). He's shown a teriffic arm and pretty good speed. He's got to be on the field and in the line-up as much as Ozzie can get him in. I agree with Steve Stone on this one, he can turn out to be the steal of the off-season.

The Start of a Season, Why Are You Here?
I'm very happy with this site and think the ones who do most of the posting usually have insightful things to post. The ones constantly calling for KW's head, the continuous Crede bashing, and the general negativity can get tiresome, but I suppose that's really what ST is founded on. In short, there's a heck of a lot more good than bad at ST and it's not even close, so keep it up.

Anyone know if The U is available in HD through DirecTV? I can't find it.

April Fools Day Thread: Joe Crede and Nick Masset dealt to SF
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) I take it you've never had a verbal slip-up before. That's really good for you... That wasn't a verbal slip-up, it was an intent to instigate a fight on camera.

White Sox @ Indians - Opening Day Game Thread
QUOTE(BFirebird @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 01:23 PM) After it didn't work for me I downloaded the latest Flash and the MLB new enhanced player they had and it works now. Not sure what the problem was but it works, so I would recommend trying to download both of those. Just tried it again and The Ranger is loud and clear. It must have been a problem with the website.

QUOTE(BFirebird @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 12:31 PM) Is anyone listening to the KC-Detroit game on MLB audio? I am getting an error and it won't load audio for either team. I have tried in both Firefox and IE. I am hoping it is just a minor problem and that I can get the Sox game to play the audio. Didn't work for me either.

I love reading about that team, Frank especially. He was a man among boys in his prime. I can't wait to see him get into the Hall wearing a Sox hat.

3/25 roster rumbles
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) Crede was a great fielder. He hasn't shown those same abilities post-back surgery. He looked pretty darn good yesterday.

3/25 roster rumbles
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) This is TWICE in this season alone that KW gave his word (Gio not losing, Crede to be traded) and broke it. His word should equal s*** to anyone. Watch out Pauly. He also gave his word to do the best job he can do as a GM, and by not taking absolute crap in return for Crede, he's doing that. As for Gio, when Nick Swisher suddenly became available, things changed. IT'S A BUSINESS!

3/25 roster rumbles
QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 03:05 PM) Unreal. Shame on KW and Ozzie. What a terrible message this sends to our young players (who aren't particularly fond of Ozzie in the first place). OK, can we stop kidding ourselves about Josh Fields? It's not like he doesn't have any holes in his game and there aren't things he can work on in AAA. There are only spots for 25 guys on the roster, so it doens't make a whole lot of sense keeping Crede and Fields both on the team. Fields is going to be an awesome player, but he needs to improve his defense and he needs to make a heck of a lot more contact than he does now. I'm not saying Crede is a lot better player, but Crede simply can't go back to AAA. Also, I don't think our young players (who supposedly aren't fond of Ozzie for some reason) care about what happens to Josh Fields. This is an extremely rare situation.

Time To Shoot Off The Seamen
QUOTE(Elgin Slim @ Mar 24, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) Is this game the score? The Seattle feed is on Gameday Audio. Sounds like Vin Scully's dad is calling the game.

Gavin Floyd
QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) I'd rather have Masset start than Floyd. Poreda has been pretty good this spring. 3IP, 5Ks, 0ER yesterday. Another impressive performance, albeit in a B game. He's quickly showing that he's above that level of play. Too bad we're not likely to see him in a Sox uni for another couple of years.

CREDE CREDE CREDE
The Dodgers may be the best team in the NL West. That rotation is nasty: 1. Penny 2. Lowe 3. Kuroda 4. Billingsley 5. Schmidt/Loaiza and a back end of the bullpen with Broxton and Saito. They've got a boatload of young promising hitters too (Kemp, Loney, Eithier, and LaRoche).

Las Vegas Clubs
I really liked Body English at the Hard Rock, and even though I haven't made it there, I hear Rum Jungle at Mandalay Bay is awesome. Jet at the Mirage was a little too over the top for me (and their selection of alcohol left something to be desired). Have a good time and congrats.
