We won it in '05 without Frank, now we have to win it in '08 without TCQ. This team is plenty good to make a run without Carlos.

I think I'm done with the jersey thing. I have authentic Ordonez, Rowand and Crede jerseys, and it looks as though Crede will join the others in becoming collectors' items after this season. Anwyay, I usually wear the Crede black alternate or a Sox T-shirt to the games now.

I'd like to see what he can do against a bad Seattle team. If he struggles, it's not a huge deal because he'd be the #5 starter, but if he throws well, then maybe we have that shot in the arm to carry us through September. Broadway threw pretty well the other day; I'm a little surprised he was sent packing so quickly.

It'll be Contreras. I'd like to see what Poreda can do up here, but it's probably still a bit soon for him.

I don't think it's anything more than an excuse. If you can pitch, you can pitch against anyone, anywhere. Sox pitchers were leaving pitches up to a hot hitting Royals team. Even the pitches that weren't left up were hit hard. KC is hitting everything in sight right now. That said, the starting pitching looks awful and the bullpen looks worse. Boone looks especially lost out there, and it appears that we're going to lose D.J. for a couple of games.

Hopefully the Sox will spend all of Monday thinking about how much 2nd place sucks, and come out with some fire on Tuesday.

Bruce Levine thinks the Sox should/will sign Livan Hernandez. He's got lots of big-game experience, but has been getting hit hard this season. Personally, I don't think he's got anything left in the tank.
