QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 12:04 PM) Soriano was 31 and Carlos Lee was 30. There isn't a big difference in age there and the one thing that Hunter holds over both of these guys is his perceived ability to play an excellent defensive centerfield (while be a less accomplished hitter than both.) Soriano is a man without a position, terrible no matter where he plays and Carlos Lee is just a league average defensive leftfielder. Soriano is good in left. He at least gets a ton of assists.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 01:01 PM) also, I'd trade either Danks or Gio, whichever one Florida wantsmore. Probably would take both.
-
AJ is a great defensive catcher, but has a terrible arm. There's not that many guys who have great arms behind the plate that don't suck at everything else that are readily available. I just hope he cuts down big time on his K's and starts hitting for contact again.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 05:32 PM) After all the times OSU has been a thorn in our side and stuck it to us, it's nice to have this big of a payback game. I am so proud of this team, everyone contributed and worked for a full 60 minutes. Did all the types of things you need to do to win this big of a game, and win on the road. Excellent stuff. My how far this program has come. I L L I N I Juice will get all the pub, but their defense was ferocious today as well. -

Illinois ran out the last 8:28 on the clock. It was Juice's decision to go for it on 4th down at the 7th minute mark. -
QUOTE(BearSox @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 10:01 AM) That'd be stupid. He's probably their best hitter now that ARod is gone. Eh, I'd disagree. Jeter is much better though he doesn't hit for as much power.

QUOTE(rockren @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 02:17 AM) The fact that he states that the Red Sox and Yankees are interested totally discredits this report. The Yanks have come out and said they won't deal multiple young arms for Miggy. Boston is trying to re-sign Lowell. I totally believe the Dodgers/Angels interest, but this all sounds like pure speculation on Rosenthal's part. No, they just stated they won't deal Joba for sure. I could see the Yankees eventually parting with Ian Kennedy to get a Miguel Cabrera, especially for what ARod is demanding.

Looks like we could kill that noise: per Ken Rosenthal
-
Shannon Stewart in LF wouldn't be so bad.
-
Didn't we have until midnight to pick up the option? I rather have waited until the last minute. f***, another year with Uribe.
-
I still have a feeling Uribe will still be with us I'd love to have Jack Wilson though. Unlike Uribe, he doesn't let his offensive struggles get to him defensively as much.

QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 13, 2007 -> 01:36 PM) that's how they've won 5 games. That's their offense. I thought you were a Badgers fan? Anyway, they're at their best when they throw vertically. Well until that happened. -

C'mon Isiah -
Romo's great. I love that guy. And never ever compare him with wRex Grossman
-
Owned. Also, I hate how people allude to inside knowledge of the locker room, but just won't flat out say the info. It drives me nuts. If you're going to say something, say it completely with the whole story. If you don't feel like it, don't bring it up.
-
Supposedly, we were supposed to get TBSHD starting today. I guess not.
-
Again, my question is, why didn't they use the shotgun with Grossman but they did for Griese?

QUOTE(SEALgep @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 06:42 PM) Because we don't know what our options are going to be. Are you going to drop his option during the last game of the season only to find out Eckstein wants 3 years $45 million. **** that, I'd gladly bring Uribe back. Not that that is going to be the likely scenerio, but he has to leave open the possibility of Uribe being an option. Well it really comes down to what it was last year. This is a general question, were you part of the crowd that wanted to get rid of Scott Podsednik no matter what after last year, or did you want to get keep him because you didn't feel justified in paying anyone else the big bucks? Personally I rather get rid of Uribe unless Vizquel is brought in.
