I hope Ozzie reconsiders his Closer Situation
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) if he can learn to climb the ladder with that fastball...he won't need the curve. Although I love to watch him drop that hammer. Climb the ladder with the fastball, make sure you throw it in and once you get to the highest step on the ladder, drop the hammer on the guy low.

Curry Traded
There's no point in trading AD for Tim Thomas as they both make around the same amount and both are expiring contracts. Sweetney is a bust judging on his draft position.

Curry Traded
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) I can't understand Curry & I can't understand the Knicks. The Bulls offer him $20M/50 yr if he fails the test. This is a PR nightmare for any team trading for him. If he plays w/out taking the test & God forbid a stroke or even worse a fatality occurs the franchise will be viewed as stupid, ignorant, & heartless. What franchise wants to risk that? What's worse is why isn't the NBAPA doing something? Why don't they arrange the test in private just so Curry himself knows his risk? I agree. This is my own personal opinion(and that of some of us on RealGM). I think Eddy took the test on his own without anyone being notified, found out he failed and decided to just absolutely refure to take the test for the Bulls. If he takes the test for the Bulls, the NBAPA would be pissed because it goes against "privacy" issues. Even Eddy's family said that they don't want him risking himself which I think he is. I love Eddy as he's a very likeable guy and a very nice guy. I just think this is a mistake and I would hate to see something happen to him.

Are you playing hookie tomorrow
Nope, only class is at 8-8:50am. I'll probably not play basketball for as long(probably will stop at 12:45 so I could get home with time to get my self ready.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Is David Lee as good as the buzz or has he been inflated so the Bulls will ite on him instead of Sweetney. Is this Knick spin? All that I've personally see of him is that he can dunk. I think he's overrated alot, especially by Knick fans.

Red Sox 25-man Roster
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) Tony G would be a starter on the White Sox, without question. If Iguchi was injured. And the recent Willie Harris as well. Graff stunk as a starter up until he hit Boston. Great utilityman though. I'm still scared of him because he's been hot against us with Boston.

What's your #1 key to a ALDS win?
Patience at the plate is a big one. Looking at the Red Sox board and basically, their pitchers(especially Clement) will do bad against us if we're patient.

Boston @ Chicago - ALDS Game 1
Let's get Scott P running again.

Congrats from the Cubs
Props to the Cubs for doing that.

Red Sox 25-man Roster
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Ack, Lowe, blast my memory. Still...how often would you expect any pitcher for any team to be able to go out on 2 days rest and pull that off? That's yet another reason why the Red Sox's October last year was so damn remarkable. That's usually a situation most people would like to avoid. Sinkerballers do better when they're tired.

Red Sox 25-man Roster
Tony G has been a guy who has caused us trouble. Let's keep him off the basepaths please.

Boston @ Chicago - ALDS Game 1
QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) What killed us in the 2000 playoffs... No hitting and very good pitching in the playoffs I thought our pitching was pretty good in the playoffs. What killed us was a lack of offense.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) WGN will also carry ESPNs feed for the 1st 3 games!!! Not shocked. They did it for the 2000 playoffs and they did it for the Cubs.

ChiSox-BoSox recaps
QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) All this stuff above means nothing the slate is wiped clean, both teams should not even think about what happened in the past It's go time Those who do not learn from their history are doomed to repeat it. Ozzie needs to look at this. Another good reason to not have Buehrle pitch in Game 2.

ALCS tickets on sale Thursday
If I had the dough, I'd shell out the cash.

What's your #1 key to a ALDS win?
I have a feeling that Ozzie will bring in Damaso just to face Ortiz and get burned badly by it.
-
ESPN Coverage
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) Your cutting your audiance by doing that... The same people watch most of the Playoff games, putting them opposite each other would kill your ratings. BINGO!
-
What's your #1 key to a ALDS win?
Keep damage to a minimal. Ortiz and Ramirez are going to hit us especially at the Cell. Therefore, keep guys off base and pitch around them when you have the chance. Also, the key is not for Pods to get on base, but for Pods to stay on base. Sucessful steals and breaking up double plays and actually running hard needs to be done.

Anyone else cheering for the Cubs?
I wanted a 1 game playoff tommorow. Now it's going to be a long day with no baseball. You see how loony things get around here with no baseball.

Boston @ Chicago - ALDS Game 1
The names Manny and Ortiz scare the s*** out of me. Especially Manny at the Cell.

Playoff Times
Well at least Freddy gets to pitch in the day time and on the road. That's his cup of tea.

World Series Odds
I should put 100 on the Padres and 100 on the White Sox. I could lose 200 bucks or I could win a ton of cash.

White Sox Movies and Slide Shows
I'm downloading them both. Should be great.

Boston @ Chicago - ALDS Game 1
QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) Does anyone know the pitching matchups for the series? Game 1: Contreras vs. Clement Game 2: Buehrle vs. David Wells Game 3: Garcia vs. TBA(I'll guess Schilling if they're down 0-2, Wakefield otherwise)
