  1. We'll see which scout deserves to be fired.
  2. Look the same as the Grizzlies, Lakers, Jazz, and Hornets. I loved last year's. Especially the yellow with blue pinstripes.
  3. I think Santana will break that barrier. If he doesn't win, Bart will.
  4. Top 2: AJ hitting the walkoff against the Dodgers. Remember guys, we were down 3-1 in the 9th. This game made every Sox fan believe. Hell, I have a small clip of it still on my computer and I make sure I watch it once a week. Rally Crede's walkoff against Indians.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) Jerry looks like he is gonna cry. Anyone who claims that he's just about the money is wrong. This guy loves baseball. I believe him when he said that he would trade in all 6 of his Bulls championships for 1 White Sox World Series.
  6. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) Are you kidding me? That would be the ultimate insult to a guy who won 17 games. McCarthy should be the long guy, in case 1 of the starters doesn't have it. Similar to the Danny Haren role.
  7. I'd like to see the reserves, but I don't want complete reserves. I don't want to have a lineup of: C-Raul Casanova 1B-Ross Gload 2B-Willie Harris 3B-Pablo Ozuna SS-Geoff Blum RF-Brian Anderson CF-Timo Perez LF- Joe Borchard DH - Chris Widger I'll puke if I see more than 3 of those guys starting in any of the games this weekend.
  8. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) When it's MLB.com who has bad info, I get confused. You know, they are the ones who make up the rules.... Don't worry, we're all White Sox fans. No question is a stupid one unless it involves the Cubs.
  9. Well I also want the Indians over the Red Sox because most of their fans(except true class guys like redandwhite) have turned me off to the idea of rooting for the BoSox. I like most of their players, but I will root for the Yankees over them. At least they don't have a stupid bloody sock story to tell.
  10. Jose Contreras has to start game 1. He's become a true ace and a stopper.
  11. I personally don't care. I hope they make the playoffs though because I think we matchup better with the Indians than Boston.
  12. Well if the Yankees get the most amount of wins possible, 97, they'll win that division. Boston would end up losing the division and missing the Wild Card.
  13. Don't worry guys, it'll probably replayed on Comcast tonight. I love it when Heads22 makes threads.
  14. Kenny Williams is worthless. Didn't you guys know he got raped in the Freddy Garcia deal?? Jeremy Reed > Freddy Garcia.
  15. I think we take 12 pitchers and leave Blum at home. Willie is the only speed off the bench. We'll need that for pinch runners.
  16. This is basically it. Magic = 1. You win, you clinch the division since we automatically own the tiebreaker.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) He is still our best pitcher and you got to believe he will shape up when playoffs start. That being said not only has he earned it but its setup perfect for Contreras to pitch game 1 already so he should get that. Contreras-Buehrle-Garcia-Garland Garcia and Garland are inter-changable really but with ozzie liking Freddy and him having more experiance than Jon thats probably the way it is. I don't think he'll turn it around. You can't assume that. He's had the whole 2nd half to turn it around and he's gone backwards. He's showed he sucks in high pressure situations and he gives up a lot of hits to good hitting ball clubs. In the playoffs, he'll equal Odalis Perez of last year.
  18. QUOTE(rowandrules83 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) sorry, but i have to disagree. unless they changed the rules, they don't play a one-game playoff to determine the difference between the wc and div. champ. they just go by the head-to-head record. wouldn't it be pointless to send out contreras to try and win a one-game playoff when a playoff spot was already wrapped up? Dude, that came from MLB.com. We would play them in a 1 game playoff.
  19. Contreras - Garland - Garcia - Buehrle I don't start Buehrle. It's the playoffs. He's been doing the worse out of the 4 so he gets put in the 4 spot. It's not about respect in the playoffs, it's about giving your team the best chance to win. Buehrle doesn't do that for the Sox. He gives up a lot of hits and that doesn't bold well in the AL playoffs considering all the teams will hurt you if you do that.
  20. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) ATTN Please: If I see again that ANYONE wants Juan Pierre I'm going to puke. He is a lesser version of Pods at the plate this year. He hasn't been near as good as Pods. .274 .326 .352 No thank you. Career numbers. Look at them.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) I don't worry about things like that. You have a DH almost the entire season and than when your in an NL park you play the matchups. So say we get to the World Series. You now have to bench one of your big boppers for half the games. I'd happily do an upgrade of PK to Delgado, but fact is we need a DH that can also play a fielding position that is not the same as your only other big bopper. Again, Nomar would make sense. No matter what, all the FA's that are signable are going to be injury risks.
  22. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) Hat's off to the Count. Without him the Sox are toast. French??
  23. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Rowand must think the SS is playing in the OF seats. Lol, must've.
