Sox vs. Twinkies Game Thread 9-25-05

They said an hour and a half. On the rader it looks like it should be no more than 20 minutes. WTF? -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) Ozzie seriously might be a very good NL manager...just because his biggest problem lately has been leaving his starters in too long. If you have to pinch hit for your starting pitcher in the bottom of the 6th, you can't send him out for the 7th with 105 pitches and Hafner coming up. I agree. Get him out of here.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Playing along also... 1 game does not a big game pitcher make. More playing along... But a direct correlation of losing in big games does.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) Wouldn't it be worth it just to hear how many times Hawk could say the phrase "Sweet Lou"? One of these years also, Steinbrenner is going to just give up and fire Torre. If they miss the playoffs this year...who knows. I see the Yanks making the playoffs this year.

Happy Birthday. The Sox better win today, or it's your birthday's fault.

What do you tell a girl with two black eyes? Nothing, you just told her twice.

Rowand needs to learn to stop watching the Bears and to learn how to hit again or at least play defense. -
Best non-Sox wallpaper ever!

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Hey gang, what's the weather situation like in the city? Are we getting this one in? We'll get it in. It has playoff implications so lightning would have to strike the field for us not to get it in. -
QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) I don't know if it was the rule changes after his rookie year or what, but I'm leaning towards the "Tillman Overrated" bandwagon a tad. Thank you. I'm the leader of that bandwagon.

The latest is that Paxson wants to keep him on the Bulls, but they won't allow him to play without taking the DNA test. He said he refuses to take one through his agent(violates privacy rights or w/e). It will probably go through an arbitration hearing. Bulls can't really trade him considering his value is at an all-time low after he said he won't submit to a DNA test.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) We found out if Mark was a big game pitcher his last time out. /playing along And since the All-Star break. It's clear he isn't a big game pitcher. (playing along, or am I?)

I would love for it to happen, I just don't see it happening. Hopefully we win the World Series and Ozzie could be out of here as manager. He should be a broadcaster. "Lou is teh managah. He maa da lineup car's, naht deez keedz."

Nice win. Hopefully it continues tommorow. We're facing a rookie, which we usually have problems with. Let's not make him look like a Cy Young winner tommorow.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) SC's just getting their offense in gear the last few drives of the half...they'll get em. Last time USC and Oregon played, Oregon took an early lead, then Palmer led USC to 30 unanswered points. Yeah, I honestly don't think Oregon is going to hold on. -

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) This is the last WGN game at home of the season. -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) You'd lose more seats, and they'd have to figure out where to move the bullpens to. That'd be an impossible move. That too. We won't be moving the bullpens to foul territory(I doubt there's enough space for that) and major cash would be lost. And our offense depends on the longball(though most of the team is not very good at hitting for them). Basically, you're trying to take away the one thing we do consistantly on offense and hit the longball.
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) McCarthy should not be in the playoff rotation. Yeah he has pitched well but he is a ROOKIE. Bullpen. Also i can't believe you are seriously saying McCarthy over Buehrle and Garland. Buehrle hasn't proven that he can handle hot teams/high pressure situations in the regular season. In fact, he's proven the opposite. McCarthy has at least pitched good under pressure. I'd start McCarthy over him in the playoffs. Remember, Prior started Game 2 in the playoffs in 2003 and that was only his 2nd year as a pro. Buehrle does not deserve to start over Garland, Count, or BMac. That's flat out truth.

Pods looks horrible out there. Get Ozuna to play defense. At least Ozuna goes all out. -
QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) so you really think our offense will be much improved next year.. Move em back it was stupid to move em in The team isn't going to spend it's time and money tinkering with the ballpark. As far as I know, the last thing they're doing is changing the blue seats to green. That's it. We are going to need to have a better offense or at least play like we did earlier in the year. Moving the fences is not an option.
-
Ownership isn't going to pay for the money to move the fences back. They already had payed money for them to be pulled in a couple of years ago. Just because we have an anemic offense doesn't mean the fences is the problem. It's our offense that is.
