The Continuing Decline & Fall of Mark Buehrle
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) Holy crap you are ridiculous. Not as ridiculous as Buehrle probably losing Tuesday Night against Santana.

Grossman's Season Basically Over
I have questions about the Bears Secondary as well. Tillman basically got a pass last year because of his injury and his ownage of Randy Moss. I still question him though. Vasher looked pretty good, but I don't know if he's a #3CB, especially against the likes of Mike Williams, Marcus Robinson, and Donald Driver. I don't see the Bears getting a top 3 pick. They'll win some games. I think they'll end up with #7.

Gamethread sunday vs sawx 8/14/05
Put Owens in there. I don't see him being any worse than Willie, Ozuna or Timo. And you never know. He could help us down the stretch ala a Frankie Rodriguez or a Miguel Cabrera.

Sox hope to cash in with pair of aces come playoff
*patiently awaits aces to shut down a team worth a damn*

Nightengale's Griffey/ Sox update
So it looks like we won't get him.

Pods might go on the DL
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) All of you guys wanting to crucify Ozzie for sitting Pods a lot lately, really need to start apologizing... as usual, Ozzie had his reasons, and many had no clue. I kind of knew he was injured. In the beginning of the season, he ran full speed and you could notice it. Ever since he first had the injury problem, it seemed like he was running tenderly and it never looked like he was really digging hard around the bases. That's another reason why he hasn't been so successful recently at stealing bases.

Would you buy a plug-in hybrid?
I'll stick with my gas. I'm too old school.

Blue-chip recruit Rush visits Indiana
QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) Greasy, Oden decided where he was going? Ohio State with Mike Conley. Plus they already have Daqeuan Cook and they might be getting another 4/5 star recruit. They're going to be stacked. I always thought they were supposed to go on prohibition though for all those violations found from within. I guess the NCAA is letting them slide.

Another meangingless HR. This time by A-Row. Pumping his numbers as always.

White Sox vs Red Sox - 8/13/05
Meaningless HR. At least PK has 200. I didn't even know he was close.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) But he has posted on this board, so he should be on the team. Yep. He's a bonafide superstar. KW's blocking him from starting his HOF career.

Nightengale's Griffey/ Sox update
QUOTE(Jake @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) Potential is a dangerous word. Tell me about it. Just ask the Bulls about potential.

What the hell was Ozuna doing out there?

White Sox vs Red Sox - 8/13/05
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) I got into the car today, and they were saying how great the White Sox comeback was last night? Did I miss something? Did we not blow a 4 run lead in that game? I heard the same thing and just laughed.

White Sox vs Red Sox - 8/13/05
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 07:26 PM) Why, if Hawk thinks the Sox might get him, he'll "slurp" him. It's when he doesn't praise him is when I think there's no chance of a deal. Whenever Hawk or DJ mention something, something negative happens. When someone is on a hitting streak, Hawk or DJ will mention it and that day their hitting streak will be over. They'll talk about A-Row's average with RISP with the bases loaded and 1 out and he'll GIDP. Whatever they say, the worst happens. Expect us not to Griffey and a possible injury to him tommorow.

White Sox vs Red Sox - 8/13/05
Hawk slurping Ken Griffey Jr. saying he knows him and Frank didn't take steroids. Sounds like he's campaigning for him. That pretty much means he's not coming to me.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) Bring back Magglio. Hell Tony Graffinino in the 3 spot would be a godsend for this team. That's how bad our hitting is. I hope KW is taking note.

The Continuing Decline & Fall of Mark Buehrle
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) LMFAO, yeah Jon has looked sooooooooo much better than Mark against the Red Sox I hope you don't care who flames you because your whole premise is crap. I don't. I was obviously wrong. We have no one who can shut them down. Our pitching is overrated. Probably because of the poor offenses we faced in our own division. It's obvious our pitching isn't as good as advertised. All I know is that come playoff time, I wouldn't bet on a White Sox advancement.

White Sox vs Red Sox - 8/13/05
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) How about this we can change the adage... Great pitching can beat great hitting....but medicore pitching can shut down the sox. I mean when we struggle to score against the yankees and their stud pitching staff, we have problems with studs like Joel Pinero, Josh Towers and the rest of the Cy Young staff we have been facing this month. Maybe we can hope that our staff completely shuts down the oppo in the playoffs to give us a chance. Took the words out of my mouth. It's not only good pitching, it's mediocre to horrible pitching shutting us down.

White Sox vs Red Sox - 8/13/05
QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Right, this one game disproves that age old adage. Hey isn't it true if you call up a guy after Sept 1 vs. before Sept. 1, it doesn't count as a year against their service time? Does anyone think that maybe that's why Brian Anderson isn't up here yet? Any takers? It's been several games. Outside of 1 game against this team, the pitching hasn't been so stellar against this team. As far as Sept1 callups, I think if you call up someone prior, you start their clock. After Sept 1, I don't think time is taken away.

White Sox vs Red Sox - 8/13/05
QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) "Ace" You're right. We have no ace. Hopefully they'll just call the game instead of letting this onslaught continue. We would've just gotten a meaningless run in the 9th. End this game so we won't have to be put through s***. So much for good pitching beating good hitting.

White Sox vs Red Sox - 8/13/05
It's so sad. Their weakest hitter would be our best hitter.
