  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) he had a lot of "im crazy" moments. Saying he was going to try to get kicked out of a game, stupid unsportmanlike penalties(remember when he threw the ball at Cutlers face after making a catch?). His girlfriend stabbing him. You know, bad stuff He is a problem child. He probably needs someone to look over him, but he is a talented MoFo and Jay wants him on the team I remember the stuff in Denver with him beating his girlfriends and getting the cops called on him all the time in both Miami and Atlanta. Didn't know about on the field stuff. Maybe he was frustrated with losing.
  2. QUOTE (Papa Tru @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) His production isn't really in question here.. its not like he completely fell off the table with either or those QBs throwing to him.. What exactly did he do while with Miami that caused him to be traded then? I was thinking pure money move especially with the team having to rebuild or retool. He did pretty well, even with the garbage QBs thrown out there.
  3. Campbell would be a great backup QB. I wonder if they secretly go after Atgowe for S or maybe Routt at CB.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 03:33 PM) I really love the duo of Marshall/Bennett in theory. I'd still use a 1st or 2nd to take a WR. I think it would be better if it was Marshall/Meachem/Bennett.
  5. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) Bears get Marshall and now go sign Williams.. and if they can get Finnegan and or Winston.. and this would be a HUGE success!! As for Winston.. he is ALWAYS healthy and solid at RT. Plus who knows if Carimi will be healthy.. but yeah you would have to move Carimi to LT and that in itself would be a HUGE upgrade for the O Line! As for the trade.. AWESOME!! I take back all the doubts and dislike of the Emery hiring!! That move is pure genius! That would be a great offseason for the Bears, especially with the draft to still look forward to.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) LOL Manning thing may be played out then. I think the Bears should still go after Meachem or Manningham to go along with Marshall. What a get, though. Emery striking is a good sign for Bears fans!
  7. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) HOLY CRAP! Yeah right. I doubt they even think about trading him before the Manning thing plays out.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 03:51 AM) He is creative and fresh, Rock does sophmoric humor and has been brutal. It's not even close. I do like build for most of the Mania matches. No physical confrontations. Just words. Cena vs. Henry next week worries me. Henry has been known to hurt guys legit. Cena finally went back to the gimmick people actually liked. I was thoroughly entertained by it. Rock's concert also went well, except for the rapping at the end.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) Chris Williams looked solid to near pro-bowl as a starter then went down with a freak injury. Carimi never was healthy and barely played. Garza was solid at Center. Louis looked solid at RG, but then had to move to RT where he was terrible because the bears had no backup tackle other than the open door. On top of that, you've got a backup QB for the part of the year where the line looked really bad, and Martz's system which refused to provide help. This line already gets 2 first round picks added in to start next year. Louis and Garza don't deserve to be benched. THe only question is Webb. And he was on an island for 1/2 the season and never got help...and he only really looked bad when he had to block for Hanie and McCown. Chris Williams was nothing more than solid during his "good streak". If Bears fans think he looked anywhere near Pro-Bowl good, then I could see why the Bears as an organization don't care to address the O-Line. If the fans don't care, neither should they. Carimi looked very good, whether he was healthy or not, when he actually played. Garza looks like a solid backup at C, and probably a starter at G. Louis was okay at RG. Was awful as a tackle. If the line was anywhere near as good as almost everyone in this thread made it to be, their QB's wouldn't have gotten killed. They also would have gotten more push in the run game. The Bears line is awful. Only 3 players I would keep are Carimi, Garza and Spencer.
  10. Did I just read a few pages of people defending the Bears' offensive line? I'm going to clean my eyes out and try to re-read the last few pages. The Bears had one of the bottom two offensive lines last year with Philly being the only team in their stratosphere of bad. Carimi looked good when healthy. Garza to me looks like a good backup C and a good RG, but he's nothing special. Williams looked good for a few games at G. I would not pencil him as a starter though. Simply put, the Bears need all the help they can get.
  11. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Mar 11, 2012 -> 08:43 AM) Is Illinois really looking at Scott Drew? I had a heard a few rumors about that?? If so, that's another Kelvin Sampson waiting to happen, only potentially worse. I would be okay with that. I also heard Shaka is definitely interested in the Illinois job, but it will come down to cash.
  12. Theus is the other most interesting name to me next to Anthony Grant. I'd absolutely love him. I also thought he did a great job with Sacramento given the talent level of those squads.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 11:32 AM) Illinois shouldn't interview a single coach from Chicago. Might as well start prematurely slapping self-imposed bans for the future if you're going down that road. I've thought about it, but at this point, I wouldn't care. I'll gladly take 3-5 years of legit excitement in the program with a chance at a National Championship game doing things the wrong way over another 5 years of mediocrity doing things the right way. I don't care if the appearances are taken away either because that won't take away the excitement and experience of those 3-5 years. I don't think Smith is ready, but I'd gladly put him in a Wayne McClain role. I'd hold onto Jerrance Howard as well.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) Parker's parents just had a story in the suntimes or the tribune basically stating that Illinois would be out of the picture without Weber. Obviously that could change, but that's tough to take. I'll pass on Shaka. Give me Brad Stevens, who I think we have a better shot at honestly (though both are slim to none). Stevens just got a reality check to what a ten year run at Butler will look like when Indiana is back to full strength (i.e., no recruits). Shaka has a tie to Thomas, as Thomas hired him at Akron years ago. But he's taking a second VCU team to the dance. He's making millions. He's got a long term contract at a school with minimal expectations. He'd be walking into a "OMG YOU HAVE TO WIN NOW, WE'RE THE BEST SCHOOL EVER" crazy fanbase. I just hope Illinois ponies up some real money for a real coach. Something in the 2-2.5 million range. If you're going to contend annually for the big ten title, you better be up there with MSU/OSU/IU in salary. From what I've heard, Shaka is the target. Stevens seems to be the pipedream because of his buyout. I want Anthony Grant though. He's great with recruits, demands respect, and all his guys turn into defenders under him. I think he's going to be the next great coach. Shaka I think is going to flame out. JMO though.
  15. According to some wrestling sites I frequent, the WWE is trying to get an even split of fans for WM. So with that said, they are having Rock suck and look shocked. It does make sense though with the whole written line things from last week considering Rock is paid full time to remember lines. He shouldn't need notes. Also, Cena was putting on that Boston accent and hung out with the only section that cheered for him. So far though, WWE's strategy sucks. The promos have been awful on both sides and right now, I'm looking more forward to Taker vs HHH which I think will be pretty bad.
  16. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:24 PM) There's a general consensus (understandable) of leave leave leave. I'm curious if anyone who's been through this has attempted to save a relationship which was damaged by cheating through couples therapy or other methods. I wouldn't make such a decision until I've done the things I need to do (leave, get personal therapy) and get myself in a sound mental/emotional state again, but I'm interested to know others' experiences. You're going to feel that you can still salvage or should salvage the relationship. To me, a relationship is like a computer. Say your hard drive goes bad, but you can have it repaired(not replaced) and run Windows off of it again. There's a good chance that hard drive will end up damaged again and again and again. It's always best to replace the hard drive instead. Some days, you're going to feel like you're crazy, but you're not. Enjoy your alone time, and be you. In relationships, we always lose ourselves bending over for the ones we love. Well now, you have the opportunity to stand up straight and become yourself. I suggest watching (500) Days of Summer. It sounds like a chick flick, but just watch it and in the end, you'll know why I suggested it.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 08:19 PM) I'm not even going to bother. There's nothing that will change your opinion. I don't understand how you can be so hard-headed. What he said is right though. The Heat play great defense because of length and athleticism. Whatever offensive gameplan you have for them is still tough to execute because whatever you "trick" them with, they can recover pretty damn easily because of that length and athleticism. They're also able to pick your pockets as well. The only way you'll catch them is when they're being lazy. The only time they're lazy is when they have to chase someone around, but in reality, we've only seen Wade be lazy when it comes to that. LeBron really hasn't had to chase anyone around for a full game. I'd like to see him have to do it for at least half a game. That's why I'd prefer to get Ray Allen on this team. When Luol rests, do a lineup with Allen and Hamilton and make them work. If you kept Korver and want to go small, then throw Korver in there as well and run screens off of screens. Wade will get lazy with that. He has everytime in the past when facing Ray. LeBron would get tired out. And all three can shoot the crap out of the ball. Defensively, they're still easy to guard in the halfcourt. Win the rebound battle, and you'll have a good chance.
  18. Workout, spend time with your buddies and jam to music in your alone time. It's going to be hard, but the biggest thing is coming to a realization, now you have a bunch of free time that you didn't have. So try stuff you always wanted to, but couldn't. And never let them see you sweat. Don't have contact with her, not even a simple "Hi" text message. You'll fall ten steps back and will make it worse. Cut contact, and live your life to the fullest. Maybe take a trip to somewhere you haven't had a chance to. CDub, it'll get better, trust me.
  19. Completely missed the thread as well. Thanks fellas and happy birthday to Keith as well.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 02:05 PM) Isn't that Celine Deon? I don't know about Celine, but I was somewhat right. When she was 23, she married her husband who at the time was 42. They had been dating prior to that for awhile though.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) One thing we can agree is fabulous...Katherine McPhee has an outstanding booty. And eyes you can go swimming in. Isn't she married to that guy who's like 40 years older than her?
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) http://www.dailyherald.com/article/2011092...orts/709299659/ The big thing you are missing is if JR accepts Kenny's offer of resigning from his position, his contract is then invalid. Unless it expressly guarantees him a lesser position at the same price as an option, his contract is for his position as general manager. It doesn't matter if he offers to be a scout instead, unless it is expressly spelled out in the deal. At the point where Jerry said yes, it is a new deal and the old one invalid based on the agreement of both of the contracted parties. The rollover clause is irrelevant because overwhelming odds are it is for his job as GM. Also right. At the point of KW making the offer, it is no longer JR firing him, but rather KW quitting and JR accepting his quitting.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 01:15 PM) It was on one of the contract sites. He has an automatic rollover and a one year severance if he gets fired. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/compensa...ots/?page_id=84 5 years (2005-09) deal rolls over each year, paying 1 year of severance if terminated hired 10/2000 VP, Assistant GM Rick Hahn Director of Baseball Operations Dan Fabian Director of Player Development Buddy Bell Director of Amateur Scouting Doug Laumann

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 21, 2012 -> 06:34 PM) Not to mention it makes an enormous difference what type of car youre driving. I have a very light, rear wheel drive car and its basically an art form to be able to drive it in the snow. You cant accelerate through turns, you have to start slowing down for stops earlier and need to accelerate slower when starting from a stop. There certainly are people who let snow on the roads scare them waaaaaaaay too much but I dont know how many times Ive wanted to stop and throw a brick through some SUVs window for slamming on their horn because Im accelerating slower than usual after a red light or something. I don't get it either. I actually was in an accident last week because one, the village of Orland Park simply refuses to plow/salt their streets, but rather allow cars to just run over it, and two, some douche in an Acura behind me with AWD and traction control was riding my ass on a turn. Long story short, my 07 G6 with RWD spun out at 8mph on a turn, hit the lady in the turn lane, bounced off of her, and hit the snow curb pretty hard. I bent my wheel inward which will be a b**** to replace because I can't find the same rim anywhere. And yes, I have winter tires, but in the end, it all matters what kind of car you drive, and even then, it's still a pain in the ass. So like Drunk, I'll slow down, accelerate slowly, and make sure I get home instead of getting in another accident.
