QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) I swear they said the same thing for the previous one, too. EDIT: I could be thinking of Final Destination, but I'm pretty sure both franchises have done it. Yeah, I remember seeing the only Saw I've ever watched. I think it was Saw 6 and they promoted it partly as the last Saw. They've been saying it for awhile, but it makes too much money, so they're never going to end it.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 09:45 PM) Heat supposedly still have several hundred tickets unsold for their home opener. Nice..... Against the best team in their division, in the debut of a super team, on a weekend night.

If you're able to turn on your PS3 for a little bit, you can backup your game saves to a hard drive(has to be formatted correctly). There's guides all over the net that shows you how to do this. If you want to save the PS3, there's a website that takes care of the YLOD problem for $65 which is cheaper than paying $150 from Sony. It's great for any backwards compatible machines. In the end, you can also sell the PS3. Even ones with the same problems go for a decent buck on Craigslist.

If you don't care about price, go with Verizon and get the Droid 2, Droid X(my pref) or wait for the iPhone. They have the best service if money isn't an obstacle. If you care about what you pay, Sprint is the right answer, and Evo is your phone(I love my Evo).

QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) FWIW (which is probably very little given the source) David Kaplan said on chicago tribune live that he has a very reliable source who has very intricate knowledge of the Bears clubhouse, and said that he would be surprised if Cutler makes it through the year without getting knocked out by one of his teammates. that is how much people hate him. I certainly wouldn't doubt it though...Cutler is a grade A douche Not a fan of Kaplan. I think he spews alot of what he hears from uninformed buddies and just spits it out to see what sticks. We shall see though. If I'm Cutler, I would act like a douchenozzle considering he gets knocked around with ease. -
I root for him more than Rowand and Thome. I didn't even know Rowand had been benched all year. He's a funny guy. At the same time, when he's hot, he's great, when he's not hot, you wish a pitcher could bat for him. Either way, I think he's still a super sub.

QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 05:56 PM) Two questions... 1. How will Sox fans respond to #23 in a Sox uniform? 2. With the knucklehead sports reporters in this town undoubtably annointing Sandberg "The Heir Apparent" how will this affect the already volitale relationship between Ozzie and KW? How would it affect the potential relationship between Ozzie and Sandberg? Do you know something we don't?

Currently, I'm going to school for Computer Information Systems with a specification in Database Management. I am into computers, always interested in more in terms of how everything works, and it pays very very well. Last year, I was just going to get certifications. Athomeboy, from everything I researched, it's best to get your basic certs like A+, Network+, etc., then pick a specific track you want to go into. Get your Microsoft Certs or Cisco as those are the ones who will pay you the best. They are tough, but you'll make very good money. I ended up deciding on CIS personally for myself, because I want the knowledge of those certs, but I want to do more than just fix computers and such. I want to be more involved in the programming as well as the other stuff. I want to run an online banking, or flight reservation program for a major airline. So far, I only have 3.5 semesters left if you include the current one. Great thing is, I get all the programs for free. I just setup Windows Server 2008 R2 on my home computers. Fun stuff.

I'd love him, but even I began to sour on him after he got injured yet again this year. This guy is the Michael Redd of baseball. Irrelevant because he's too often injured so most casual fans don't even remember or know him. I'd only sign him as a #7 hitter. He's not dependable at all.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 08:08 AM) You'd have to think that if they had a hard cap, the players union would get the value of it increased to the point that those 3 salaries could fit under it. Or the union might completely break and wind up having an actual league-wide decrease in guaranteed dollars on current contracts. (Honestly, deep down I think that a good number of owners actually expect something like a league wide salary reduction to happen. My evidence came from some of those contracts handed out last offseason. There was just no reason for so many different owners to offer up the contracts that we saw go out. I struggle to see how they all could be that dumb) From what I understand so far, contraction has more support from both sides than salary reductions. If they do release salaries, they won't institute a hard cap and they'll make percentage wise, a way for those current contracts to fit. I've also heard the idea of the Eddy Curry exception in which they allow teams to get rid of one bad contract formerly known as the Allan Houston rule. If worse comes to worst, Miami will trade Bosh for cap space, as he's going to provide limited value since there's only one ball to go around between the three players and his value is going to be minimized. For these guys to provide anywhere near their normal numbers, they're going to have to shoot a great percentage because they aren't going to be able to shoot the ball 25 times a game like they may be used to.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 02:15 PM) I'm probably in the decided minority on this but I don't think Miami will win the title this year, not basing it on anything other than the fact that having great players on a team doesn't always mean they'll play great together as a team. The problem they run into that is unlike Boston is that thereotically, that roster doesn't fit right offensively. James and Wade are both ISO cut players who only make three's when they're hot. So you have one guy dribbling the lane, and the other automatically cutting to the lane. You have Z who can't move fast at all, so therefore, he's usually around 12-14 feet. That's three defenders there that are inside the lane that are automatically cutting you off. Without Miller, they don't have anyone who can stretch the floor consistently. Thereotically, they should have a PG and C who can shoot lights out from three. What they really need is a Steve Blake and a younger Z. Bosh can step out to 19 feet consistently, but that's not far enough to stop a team defensively from cheating. Defensively, James and Wade are good overall. Bosh is a weak link. Heck, anyone minus Haslem is a weak link. At PG, they have a weak link. So while you have two great defenders on the floor, they have to account for almost all options. That's why Boston is able to score on them fluidly. You have Ray Allen who you always have to respect. Pierce who is a nice shooter and all around player. Rondo who can slash. Garnett can bang or hit the 16 footer. And Shaq/Jermaine inside. So you really can't cheat as much as you want to to slide over to another man, especially for a team with great spacing and chemistry like Boston. In the end, I think they'll figure it out, win like 68 games and win the championship.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) So do you think ESPN will do a countdown to 10 losses? No. Despite ESPN's morning hosts on SportsCenter always taking snide remarks against the company, the main honchos are willing to be Miami's sidekick because if they're involved, they get ratings and people talk about ESPN as a brand. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) Good question, how is Miami going to defend a good PG like Rondo and Rose. The Bulls with Boozer may be a problem team for Miami to guard in the post and at the perimeter. It will be interesting to see how Miami's team defense evolves. As of right now they are having a hard time defending Rondo and Allen at the same time. It will be tough because they really don't have anyone to keep up with Rose/Rondo, and both those teams have guys in the post who can make you pay, especially the Bulls. The thing is, the Bulls need a superstar wingman somehow. Without, LeBron's job is pretty easy. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) God I hope they fail. We all do. I think in the end, they will succeed. QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) annnd they are right back in this They'll always be in it at the end of games. That's why I bet the house on them tonight.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 08:01 PM) Somewhat better maybe, but not significantly so. Despite a much thicker build, Bosh is just about as productive down low. Bosh gets 10 or 11 boards per 40 minutes and 5.5 to 6 attempts at the rim per game at about a 63% clip. Boozer is at 12 or 13/40 and 6.5/66 or so playing with a much better PG. Plus Bosh is a lot more effective away from the basket because he can drive as well as shoot. Either way, matching up with someone like LA would still be a major issue, as Utah found out last year. Keep in mind though, as you stated they play a lot of pick and pop in Utah with Williams and Boozer. I agree Bosh is more effective away from the basket, but even when he attempts at the basket, as a defender, you don't exert as much energy defending him as he's a twig. And when he is shooting jumpers, you waste very little energy. Basically, you don't make your defender work at all. To an offensive player like a Boozer, that's so much better, because he can waste all his energy punishing you in the post.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) lol. what the hell? When he comes back, he always says he's healthy, then actually shows he isn't, it takes him about 3 months to get in a groove, then when he finally does, he gets injured again with something small, but nagging. By the time the Finals hit, he's hurt again. Honestly, LA should shut him down from all basketball activity until February, have him only practice with the team until the Finals and then go.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 10:22 AM) Whenever I have no rooting interest in the playoffs, I can usually pick the team that will eventually win it. I've had a feeling about the Giants since the postseason started, so I'm sticking with them. Having said that, I don't care which one of these teams wins it. The only player on either team that I dislike is Hamilton (I don't care about his drug problem, the guy's a hero because he did heroin while guy's who never touched drugs in their lives aren't worth mentioning). Plus he strikes me as a guy who still drinks and does that stuff. Maybe not heroin, but I do remember pictures of him leaking taking shots off of women at a bar when he was claiming straight edge and his shirt was off and all. I think he's one of the biggest phonies out there.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) Boozer isn't exactly a beast defensively either and gets a lot of his points on the pick and roll. They'd still have a lot of the same issues. Boozer isn't a beast defensively, but he is a damn good rebounder and can bang. Boozer also can score in a variety of ways. Pick and pop, high post and low post. Offensively is where he excels. Help defense sucks and man defense is mediocre. He can wear you down though offensively and move some bodies. That's why Pax targeted Boozer and was always hoping to match him up with LeBron and Wade. Bosh was moreso a secondary option.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) Isn't Dallas a top 5 ranked offense? They're tied with 3 other teams for 14th in PPG which means they are mediocre. Their total offense is top 5 as well as their passing offense. The thing is, they usually sputter out when getting into scoring position. Their running game is non-existant. -
QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) there is absolutely 0 inside presence on this heat team offensively Bosh? I kid, I kid. That is going to be the weakness of Miami. Their inside presence. They have old people who are no longer good, have undersized people, or underweight people. Bosh is a stick. He'll still provide good output from PF, but at the same time, most good/great PF's will eat him alive. Miami really should've gone after Boozer(I know he's injured now) to provide a bulldozer downlow. Then they could get away with a crusty C and they would be fine. Either way though, I'm still putting the house on Miami winning the championship until Bynum is completely healthy and shows it in the Finals.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) How is this different than what ND is doing now? 8 easy games might be a stretch, but most years they can get to 6 wins pretty easily. Navy, Army, Purdue, western/central/eastern whoever, etc. Disagreed. Army and Navy are easy. Eastern, Western, etc. are usually two gimme's. But they schedule teams like Michigan, USC, Purdue, Michigan State, etc. I'd say more than half their schedule is pretty decent. Now they don't schedule #1 ranked teams every year, but they usually have a top 5 team, a few top 25's, and fill out their schedule. I'd say only about 4 games all year are pretty easy ones. -

Cowher will only coach a storied franchise just like Shannahan wanted to wait on the Bears last year. With that said, Wade will be out of a job, but honestly, Jason Garrett needs to follow him. How is he the highest paid coordinator and have a terrible offense? He definitely has the WR's, TE, QB, and a decent enough line to get the job done. I'd honestly love to have Mike Martz. Also, I don't like what I see from Marion Barber. I want Felix to start and be the featured back. -
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) Because he has a cement glove and can't catch a cold?? That means he'll never be sick which means he won't need a day off! Them re-signing Casto can only be bad. Either they're resigning AJ as the starter, or Castro will be the starter.

Another game that people want to blame the coaching, but it should be directed at the GM. Again, you can't run any type of system without an offensive line. I don't care who the coordinator is. -
Want the Giants to win, but I think Texas takes it.
