  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 21, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) Perhaps I was wrong about Lincecum. He's pissing all over himself. This is the Lincecum I expected in Game 1 of the NLDS. In my honest opinion, he's a tier below the elite. Same way Ubaldo Jimenez.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 06:26 PM) Looking at the last year in a vacuum Angelo has been nearly a complete bust. The criticism of the Cutler trade that was valid was in how much he gave up for him. That wasn't really the problem... so they lost a first and second that year and a first the next. He had enough picks to do something with. He needed to find at least one WR (Johnny Knox, hi, I am a rare non-mistake) and like 3 or 4 linemen (he didn't even try). This FTW! Angelo has had a couple of holes that have been known to everyone - fans, coaches, you name it. Yet, Angelo half-butted one of those holes(WR), and tried to obtain more DL when there was no need for them at all.
  3. Alexeiiiiiiiiiiii.....YESSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSS[/hawk] Probably one of the most underrated players in the game. No one ever talks about him. Sadly, he probably won't end up with the GG.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 05:00 PM) Nelson Cruz pulled with Tightness in his left hamstring. He's hit the DL 3 times this year with hamstring issues. They need to hire some PHX Suns trainers.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) Reinsdorf cried broke...and about a month and a half later wound up with VDN. Yeah. D'Antoni wanted the job. Paxson even wanted D'Antoni and it was pretty much set. D'Antoni had to get through JR though who makes final approval on hirings, and JR played his games. D'Antoni didn't think JR wanted him, therefore just jumped on the Knicks offer before they moved onto someone else. Thibs wanted to be interviewed and I think he may have been, but the Bulls never saw him as a serious candidate. Dwayne Casey was the other hire it came down to. JR literally went for bottom of the barrel. I will say though, I think Casey deserves another shot somewhere. I also think VDN can be good too, but we shall see.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 05:56 PM) Yeah but he's has history of being an extremely hard worker. The guy couldnt handle the ball to save his life coming out of HS and worked his way to being a pretty dominant PG at the college level albeit out of position for him. I still dont think he's a 2 in the NBA, I think hes a solid 3 with the ability to handle the rock. Agreed on that. Honestly, I think he'll end up being Andre Iguodala with maybe a bit better jumper. They need to move Iguodala though.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 09:42 AM) I do too, and it sucks big time. Haven't watched all season. Agreed with whoever said ever since they left Agrestic it got pretty bad. I haven't heard anyone say anything good about this season either. Not one good thing.
  8. QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/mia...tory?id=5707475 Every time this man talks I dislike him more and more. He should of known this hate would have come with a move to Miami, and if he didn't maybe he should have gotten a PR guy that did. My 2 cents. Whenever you make a ton of people mad, there are going to be those who sadly use racial slurs against that person. In this case, it's LeBron. It isn't right, nor do I okay it, but it also doesn't mean these people hate him because they're racist. Rather, it's the best thing they can think of as an insult. It's like when a deragatory gay term is used to degrate someone. They may not be homophobic, but they use it. I also thought he said he wasn't going to listen to his critics, but yet he admits that he reads all the hate and uses it for motivation. So which one is it? With that said, I still want LeBron to flat out say he's going against MJ too. Because he keeps saying he's taking notes, but no one is man enough to ask him if he's written Michael's name on the list. Last, but not least, it will never end the way LeBron wants it to. When it is all said and done, people will find something to discredit him. To make him seem lesser. And whether or not, he feels it's true, doesn't matter. Because becoming legendary comes from the outside perspective, not within. So he's always going to be chasing people's satisfaction, but he will never obtain it. Because he chose to hop on someone else's bandwagon. He said he couldn't do it himself by his actions. It's one thing to leave for a better team, another to leave for an all-superstar team where you can take nights off and not worry because you're still going to have two other all-stars who will bail you out.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 07:40 AM) Jacksonville has to be up there, then you can go to the next tier and run into teams like Frisco, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Carolina, Dallas, Detroit, Denver, you could also make a case for Minnesota, Washington. Eh, I don't think so. From a GM standpoint, the Bears are only behind the Raiders and the Bills who both have no direction. Frisco actually is pretty good at assembling talent, and they should be a really good team this year. Alex Smith isn't working out though and neither are their offensive coordinators. Seattle has pretty decent direction. It's still too early to tell on TB. Cleveland has Holmgren who knows what he's doing. Cincy has decent direction, I think it's moreso Marvin Lewis. Carolina you can make an argument for. Dallas is another team that needs to fire it's coaches(plural for a reason). Detroit seems to finally be moving in the right direction, they're just such a mess, it's not going to be overnight. Denver is too early to tell.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) Well, not exactly...part of the VDN hire was also that no one else wanted the job. Not true. D'Antoni wanted the job. Doug Collins, Thibodeau. Everyone wanted the job to be honest.
  11. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 09:23 AM) Mike Quade is there to take his lumps for a couple of years while the team is bad and cutting payroll and go from there. The Cards and Reds will make that division tougher than it has been and who knows about the Brewers, Astros and Pira....well we know the pirates are going to suck. Pretty much. It's like the Bulls hiring VDN as a lameduck coach. They had no intention of keeping him beyond his contract. Only difference is the Cubs have no Derrick Rose coming up. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 09:41 AM) The Question is: Would some of the Anti-Ozzie people on this site be willing to take on Ryno as the next Sox skipper? No. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 09:44 AM) Not if he's addicted to small ball like he's been in the minors. Quade was a solid hire for the Cubs. The players like him, and he's great at putting out well-constructed lineups. And this is why.
  12. Angelo is inept. Why sign Grant, not play him, then release him two weeks later. DUMBBBBBB. They need to try out lineman. Even ones off the street.
  13. Dumb. I think Ricketts is really going on the cheap with the Cubs. I know Hendry made huge mistakes with the payroll, but at the same time, Ricketts knew what he was getting into. Didn't he make the comment that they plan on winning a world series within the next 5 years? Because they won't. If he was going to go cheap on payroll, he needs to get a new GM. With unlimited resources, he couldn't build a perennial winner. He's pretty awful in fact. Everyone I know who's a Cubs fan is pissed at Ricketts because they don't think he has enough to truly run the team. They also hate the move because they didn't even give themselves a shot to talk at some potentially great managers for them. If Ricketts is going this route, he needs to get better scouts all around so they can draft young guys who can make an impact.
  14. It's old though. I remember when the trilogy was first released on DVD I watched all the special features(only time I've ever done that for any movie). Stoltz was originally in it, but they just weren't feeling his performance at all. They got Michael J Fox to do it even though he was working on several other projects at the time. He was working something like 20 our of 24 hours in the day or something crazy like that. BTW, the hoverboard was real. Last, but not least, the DeLorean being a time machine was not the original plan. First they were going to have a nuclear site. All in all, there was a bunch of fun facts on those DVD's.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 05:24 PM) Hey guys, I think I mentioned it before, but I am working towards opening up a small business in the West Loop. I am having a hell of a time locating someone who does retail build outs for a fair price. Does anyone know of any that you could refer me to? Please PM me and thanks in advance. On another note, know any good buildings either in the West Loop, South Loop(though I know you hate the South Loop) or possibly up on the near north side. Sorry for the thread hijack, but you seem to know quite a bit. Me and my woman are planning and buying a condo within the next year together.
  16. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) Next week is chapter 5 . . . there are 7 chapters this season. Full guess from the previews. He enjoys his dad, they eventually end up fighting, he finds out why he wants to pitch, gets motivated by April, comes back to the States re-invigorated and season finale ends up with April telling him she doesn't want to be with him anymore.
  17. BTW, the past two weeks when I have throwed money down, I've only been wrong on one game. I did two 4 game parlays. Yesterday I won $600. Darn the Chargers the previous week for losing to Oakland though. I will never ever bet on the Chargers again.
  18. The thing with the offense is that it has no OL. Tice can only do so much. Should they run more? Maybe. You can certainly make a case, but there's only oh so much you can do other than calling plays up the gut. They can't swing a run to the outside because their OL can barely block their current positions, much less on the move. In reality, until Angelo respects the OLine, any offense is going to stink. Honestly, Martz's offense gives me reason to watch the Bears.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) Simmons is such a good NBA mind. Too bad ESPN doesn't utilize him more. I seriously think you can argue either side of a Carmelo and Deng/Noah trade and not be wrong. Pretty much. On one side, you get rid of two large contracts you're going to have to pay for Carmelo Anthony who would look really nice next to Rose and Boozer. Or, Noah works perfectly well with Boozer as he finally has a defensive presence next to him so he can concentrate on offense. Deng also looks much better so far in this offense.
  20. I'd prefer to see TCU in the NC. Love the Horned Frogs. Couple of thoughts: OSU isn't overrated. Terrell Pryor proves he always was though. I still can't believe the hype that surrounded him in high school. Wisconsin is a really good team. Iowa will beat down Wisconsin. Boise blows and deserves nothing. The two teams who they faced who were supposed to make them look good are mediocre. That is Nevada and VTech. And keep in mind, VaTech pushed themt o the limit. OU is not a strong team. Any other year they wouldn't be #1. College Football as a whole is pretty weak this year. I pretty much have no interest in it other than seeing an Oregon and TCU NC.
  21. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 16, 2010 -> 11:51 AM) Hummel out for the year with an ACL tear. Horrible break for the kid and Purdue. Their season just got f***ed. Still will be competitive with Moore, Jackson, Johnson, etc. Sad for the kid, but I'm happy because my best buddy was swearing up and down Purdue would make the national championship. The way he's gloating, I'm happy it happened to Purdue. 3rd place in the big ten, here they come. Illini baby!
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 02:09 PM) The 30 for 30 last night, Once Brothers, was incredibly well done. Best one yet, by far. Felt sorry for Vlade at the end.
  23. I actually thought Williams was better last year. There were spurts when he was also better than Jameer in terms of getting the offense to work.
