  1. Anyone watching the OKC-Laker game? They just broke the record for the loudest decibel level at an NBA game. Also, Amare Stoudemire is going to be suspended for throwing an elbow about 10 minutes ago.
  2. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) Latest rumor is Ben and #18 pick to KC for Cassell, #5 pick, and 2nd rounder next year. Steelers apparently really trying to get up to #2 and get Suh. That would be a stupid trade for KC and I'm not a huge fan of Cassell. I'm a lesser fan of Ben though.
  3. Why Mickie James? I'm glad they cut Shelton loose. They wasted him in my opinion. TNA only should call Mickie, Katie, and Shelton. The rest are meh.
  4. Roth got lucky honestly. He should be looking at jail time, not a 6 game suspension. I'm not surprised the Steelers wanted a hard suspension for him. They don't like to put up with poop like that. With that said, Raiders are smart for taking a chance on him as they desperately need a good QB and they probably would screw up their draft pick anyway. Rams should not go after Roth though. I have the feeling that Bradford and McCoy will be better than he is. Heck, I think Jimmy Clausen, who I'm not a fan of, will be better than Roth.
  5. QUOTE (hogan873 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 09:32 AM) I've mentioned this before, and I still think it's true: Jenks was a better closer when he had his 100 mph heat and the deadly curve. I'm not saying it's not wise to diversify (especially to avoid arm damage), but I'm not sure Jenks has caught on to what Coop wanted from him. He seems timid with his curve, and his fastball is not as effective. He had some great pitches last night, and the change-up for the final strike was nice. He seems to get too selective after two outs...almost as if he's trying too hard. I agree big time.
  6. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 03:39 AM) Of course this is assuming Durant has a good playoff series. Artest could easily shut him down. He's not fast enough to keep up with Durant. They are better off putting Kobe on him.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) Illinois definitely underperformed this year. The problem is, there is no reason to believe they won't do it again next year. They've underperformed drastically 2 of the last 3 years now. How is it underperforming if they performed that way as the norm for the past 2-3 years?
  8. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) I'll agree his stuff looks much better than what Jake had, but if Peavy doesn't have his STUFF then that's what he'll look like. I'm gonna wager when he gets a few more starts in him, he'll look a lot better and his slider will be a much harder breaker and have more control with his FB I still don't think he's hurt I'd be more concerned if he wasn't hurt to be honest. If he's hurt, then we have Daniel Hudson in the wings who got start while he's out. If he isn't hurt, then he won't get some resting time and we'll have to have him figure it out as the game goes along. I do worry about him shaking off the catcher when he doesn't have his stuff. If he had his stuff and was looking like 2007 Cy Peavy, then shake him off because I'll have the confidence in knowing that the next pitch you throw will be enough to get the guy out. When you have given up 5 runs and you're shaking off the catcher, that tells me you don't know what's good for you.
  9. I'd love almost as much as a HR to have Rios his a double, stretch it into a triple and flick off the fans while rounding 2nd!
  10. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) If Peavy is hurt, do you think he would be pitching? Peavy's 2nd bad start, mass paranoia envelopes Chicagoland! Yes, didn't he want to pitch last year when he was hurt with the Padres and finally decided to go on the DL after they lost a bunch of games in a row?
  11. Honestly, you do have to be concern with Peavy's fastball and where it's at. It's not like he's pitching outside in the freezing cold. His fastball needs to be at least in the mid to high 90's. If not, he's not all that effective. Sorry, but it's the truth boys.
  12. It was probably a live look in for the Sox and Jays.
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) Dont know if someone already mentioned it but MLB Network's listing of Reds at Marlins is wrong. I'm watching the game on MLB Network. That's weird. I remember seeing the commercial last night specifically talking about the Reds at Marlins game too.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 06:22 PM) The Cavs were second in all of the NBA with double digit wins trailing only Orlando. In other words they blew out a lot more teams that almost all of the NBA. And they'll probably add 4 games against the Bulls to that list.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) Even if you throw out the last win against Cleveland, the Cavs are only 2-1 this season against Chicago, One of those losses was by 14 when the Bulls had both Hinrich and Tyrus hurt, the other loss was by 7, which included the Bulls missing Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, and Joakim Noah. There isn't a blowout in the lot, even with the Bulls playing the Cavs twice extremely shorthanded. I'd say the odds of the Bulls playing a solid series against Cleveland are pretty good as long as we are healthy, especially if you actually look at the Bulls body of work against Cleveland this year. The regular season and the playoffs are different for a team like the Cavs and Lakers. They know they're going to at least be the best in their conferences and they pretty much coast through the course of the season. At most, we will get one win. The rest will probably be blowouts unless you consider being down for 15 most of the game, then losing by 8 playing a team solidly. Also, for those that want the Bulls to get in, are you rooting for Benjamin Gordon tonight? He's averaging 23.8 PPG and 5.6 APG on 45% shooting as the starting PG since Stuckey went down and the Pistons are 2-1 in their last 3 games which were all against playoff teams.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) I'm just saying the "odds" of the bulls having a good series against the Cavs is about the same as them getting a top 3 pick, in which case I'll still gamble with the pick. Our second best player has been hurt a good chunk of the year and the soon-to-be fired coach is an idiot. My thoughts exactly. I'll take the shot at a higher pick.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) The Bulls had the 8th overall pick at that time, so at least they were in the top 10 lottery. Unless Stern really wants to rig it in our favor (again) for us to net the other Chicago stud (Evan Turner), it's gonna be damn near impossible to move out of the 11th spot, yet alone go in the top 5. 1.7% is alot better odds than 0.3% especially when you do have a hell's chance in that near 2%. For the Bulls, they should still tank IMO and try to get a top 3 pick. Getting pounded by the Cavs in four games is not going to do anymore good in their psyche than going home at the end of the season. Also, the Bulls have to prepare themselves for the situation of them getting no one in FA. It doesn't even have to be Turner. Hell, Turner has no spot on the squad as he's a SF and the Bulls would have to move Deng which I must say, "good luck with that one". If they get a top three pick and get Wall, Cousins, Turner, Favors, Johnson then they are in a great position. Even if the piece doesn't fit, they can still move him for a better fit. In any regard, those players are a much more valuable asset then getting roasted by the Cavs. And as a Free Agent(which I don't think we'll end up with one of the major ones) a team that barely missed the playoffs looks appealing to me with a core of: Rose, Noah, Gibson, Draft Pick, Deng, as a core than without that superstar draft pick. Rose Draft Pick FA would be the best trio since Cold Cut. And if we strike out like I think we will, two young future studs looks much better than one. The way FA is setup though, this is how I think it will play out: Wade-Stays LeBron-Stays Bosh-Goes to Miami Amare-New York Lee-New York(I don't consider him a top FA though) Johnson-Stays, but is Bulls' best chance at a star.
  18. Not Vinny's mistake at all. Here's a pure case of him being set up to fail. He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. If Noah would've played more, re-injured himself, we probably would've heard about how VDN is in trouble for playing him in OT against the worst team in the league.
  19. The thing with our lineup is that it depends on a lot "ifs". Honestly, if everyone were to reach their potential, this lineup would be a downright pain in the butt for opposing pitchers. The other side of that is though, you have so many variables and not enough constants. You don't really know who's going to show up on a given day, week or month. Other than Beckham, Konerko, and AJ, I have no idea what the lineup is going to give you.
  20. I'll work for $75000 grand a year, even if you work me like a dog.
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 02:25 PM) Right now I think the Bulls are looking like they will be screwed this off-season. Thats why I'd throw all of the money in the world at Coach K. Get him and you might just be able to land Lebron and than you are instant contenders. Hell, I don't care who Lebron had around him, he's that good. I don't forsee Coach K ever leaving Duke. He had a chance in '99, then after Floyd was fired as well. I'm 100% sure, he won't leave Duke where he already makes a ton of money and he's king of the world.
  22. QUOTE (SockMe @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) Packers picking 23rd in the draft, hope they get Arrelious, Tebow or Spiller! Tebow would be a mistake. Arrelious would not be, but they really don't need another WR as much as they need a RB or OT.
  23. Holy Moly. A good reason why 'Nova didn't meet expectations:
  24. Fruity Pebbles mixed in with a cold one, huh? Since Monday(I'm trying to actually get in shape for once in my life) Special K and Cheerios are my only two options.
  25. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) I hope this means the Rams go the QB route with the second pick. I'd love for the Bucs to take McCoy from Oklahoma with the third pick. He'd be my number 1 pick and to get him at 3 would be awesome. Colt McCoy from Texas?
