  1. I agree, I'm not saying Hoiberg is popovich but I think Kawhi would fare very well in this offense. I would assume mirotic isn't there but especially on lineups like dunn-lavine-leonard-markannen-mirotic.
  2. Are people still mad about him "overranking" tatis even though tatis is now a universal top ten prospect?
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 23, 2018 -> 12:11 PM) Hub was mentioning a safety at 8. Says the guys available at the other positions of need either aren't top 10 guys or will be long gone. Of course, this is really early in the process. Hub also believes when it is all said and done, Mason Rudolph will be the first QB selected. If Mason Rudolph 1st means there was a run on QBs then that's good, if it means none of the qbs are top pick worthy (which i'd put money against), then that's bad.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jan 23, 2018 -> 01:24 PM) I find it ironic you have a quote from DFW as your sig but like Carson. DFW's brilliance and self awareness and humility is about as far from Carson's style as it gets, author wise. Carson is the type of writer I find insufferable. The constant self promotion, the false humility passing as real humility, the "quirkiness" that he lays on thicker than the butter on an obese person's bread -- I can't stand it. Why are you comparing Carson Cistulli to david foster wallace?
  5. Hmm yes I did forget Victor Diaz was a person.
  6. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 23, 2018 -> 11:12 AM) Bears have 2 picks in the first four rounds. If they aren't in love with any player in the first and have a willing partner, it might be smart to trade back. Same would go for the 2nd round. That's not accurate, Bears have 2 fourth round picks. 1, 2, 4, 4
  7. ignoring that Anyway one thing I've been thinking about that worries me about Rutherford only from media, is Collins, Burger and Sheets had issues last year and from everything we heard have attempted to make substantial changes to improve them. With rutherford, we heard last year his swing prevented him from generated power. And all I've heard out of him is that he grew, and that he'll be fine. This is all part of the process with guys, and I hope he's right, but I worry about whether he's going to resist necessary updates and just rely on getting stronger.
  8. Er, woops, 3rd round you'd definitely want Austin Hays or Jesus Luzardo over Call.
  9. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jan 23, 2018 -> 09:48 AM) I was curious too so I looked it up. From the 2016 draft after Collins: Bo Bichette (#8) Forrest Whitley (#10) Austin Hays (#21) Taylor Trammell (#48) Alec Hansen (#57) Kyle Lewis (#67) Mitchell White (#69) Jon Duplantier (#73) Corbin Burnes (#74) Dane Dunning (#82) Jason Groome (#83) Tyler O'Neill (#86) From the 2017 draft after Burger: Alex Faedo (#50) J.B. Bukauskas (#76) Heliot Ramos (#79) Nate Pearson (#91) Brent Rooker (#92) That actually makes me feel better. Ideal draft obviously in 2016 is probably Whitley / Hansen / Bichette instead of Collins / Burdi / Hansen, but the main problem there was tryign to use a draft pick to get better that year. Hopefully they are done with that stuff. 2017, I am not an expert, but as soon as I saw Ramos highlights I was on his bandwagon. The rest, I wouldn't want Rooker over Burger. And the board was against college pitching but I think the Faedo stuff sucks to miss on. I would feel better about system with Faedo instead of him.
  10. I probably have tendencies to just rise and fall with the prospects progression but not really sure I have call on my radar anymore.

Eric Longenhagen was on with Cistulli for Fangraphs Audio and talked about the hitters camp the sox held and he attended https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/category/podcast/ Starts I think minute 30 or maybe a bit earlier. First talks about Jake Burger and how he likes his power but just has a hard time believing his body can be at third base. Then it gets into Robert. Choice quotes: "The power was un-bee-liev-able" "In tools, he's up there with acuna, tatis" Talks about the questions will continue on his hit tool. But mentioned how some prospects get punished for lack of info while others get rewarded.
  13. Wow, that’s encouraging on Robert.
  14. Man Lavine may have looked decent on offense but his defense is like watching wade last year.
  15. Lol. They gave a 17 point lead away in under 4 minutes and now could win because the pelicans fouled Holliday on a 3 pointer
  16. Almost lost it all back. Team has a really bad reaction to the press.
  17. This is old but https://www.google.com/amp/s/jaysjournal.co...t-contract/amp/ I can’t believe Lawrie never found a team. I wonder if he’ll go to Japan or Korea.
  18. Good perspective here: Lewis (America): How many of these guys could conceivably be a No. 1 overall in some years? I get the sense that anyone from 1-4 could be. Do Tatis, Robles, and Senzel have No. 1 overall tools? J.J. Cooper: Great question. I’d prefer Eloy (No. 4) to Benintendi (No. 1) on last year’s list. Robles (No. 5) vs. Benitendi would be a great debate. So I’d say five. Torres (No. 6) or Senzel (No. 7) or even Bichette (No. 8) could have a case, but I would say any of those three being No. 1 would mean it was a weaker year for the Top 100. 19. QUOTE (pablo @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 03:55 PM) Well then I guess the Brewer's "insider" is somewhat validated? Even if it doesn't include the Sox as a trade partner, I'm glad Brew Crew are actively trying to get better rather than take the slow route to rebuilding when you have a competitive team in place already. Same, and they also had a very interesting rebuild that used a lot of avenues to build up talent via traditional and non-traditional means.
  20. I don't have any nice things to say about Jason Kidd and am glad he's no longer a coach.
  21. I wouldn't cry at all about that but...are the bulls the org to make him healthier?
  22. I am not making a statement on you making up anything, but this is not a trade rumor. It's something that impacts a person's reputation and without it being reported, they may never have a chance to respond. The details being slightly off could be insignificant, or quite significant.
  23. If Law thought he'd be a late first round pick in 2017, and nobody has seen anything to the contrary since (i mean literally nothing to change minds), then I don't think he'd be in his top 100.
  24. I'm going to guess 3 white sox. Eloy, Kopech, Hansen.
