  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) I wish we could fast forward a month and see what kind of moves (if any) have happened. Naw this part is the most fun. Plus it's early November, need at least a month of interest.
  2. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 11:25 PM) Honestly, I'm hoping.guessing that his inclusion is what gets them to include Urias. Probably the Sox are asking for Urias, and the Dodgers are balking and offering everyone BUT him. Seems like a reasonable compromise to add Frazier (who is realistically worth a decent prospect and a couple flyers) in order to up the ante to Urias instead of De Leon. This is what I was wondering. Doubt he gets you explicitly extra quantity, but the high level guys you are targeting.
  3. Kinda curious to know what Frazier is adding in these deals
  4. Aside from it being painful, with the core developing fine, and just incredible weaknesses from their DB/QB positions, this really may be good news in allowing a franchise altering draft. OTOH, we've had two top 5 picks last 15 years and one was Benson and the other was traded back for michael haynes and rex grossman.
  5. Love that all the teams you'd want to be in talks are involved.
  6. The trade can be a blockbuster and good for sox and not just be a list of all of the top players under 24 in an organization.
  7. Sees Alshon news, laughs, remembers he's on playoff bound fantasy team, cries.
  8. Gwen Ifill died
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) i am already sick of the orthotics discussion with Lawrie. Dude has been injury prone for his entire career Yeah. I questioned the merits of move assuming pure production lines of thought, but if he is gonna be a cancer in locker room, no reason to keep him.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) I have a feeling Goldman will reach Geno Atkins level in the upcoming years. Dude is a monster. It's so awesome because pass-rushing was seen to be his limitation. We saw this last draft how top of the line run stuffers fell because they can't stay on field. Same happened with Goldman, but he turned out to be a great pass rusher from interior. And that will work well because it looks like Young/Floyd will do well to get back high in the pocket and force those QBs to come up. If Goldman gets that push we are gonna see a really nice pass rush.
  11. Howard/Whitehair/Floyd really encouraging. Not as happy with our 4th rounders but think Hall will be best shot at a starter. Didn't really catch bullard yesterday, but seemed like dline played well. Goldman obviously stuck out (agian) as a passrusher, which is freaking awesome.
  12. Thanks for passing along soxpride.
  13. Never underestimate a group like the AARP's power to sell out slightly younger seniors to preserve power of current seniors.
  14. Starting to wonder if we are going to rebuild or just cut costs.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 05:59 PM) Winston was slippery today, Floyd wasn't the only one that lost a few He definitely goes too high on tackles of QB. Not just an issue for missing but for penalties hitting the helmet.
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 08:30 AM) took a few days off of politics, come back to find 1) a white nationalist is one of the first appointments to a very powerful position in Trump's administration and 2) Ryan and co. are already gunning for Medicare. We are in for an incredibly awful 4+ years. Was together with my brothers last night. We realized that my mom may lose her medical benefits from her job, which had only been added because of ACA, and then we had to figure out how we'd help cover her additional costs if medicare is gutted. And we can take care of her, scared for others.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 08:36 AM) http://www.forbes.com/sites/susandudley/20...fp#5b9ea9ca309b Scary stuff about gutting environmental regulations and using the COngressional Review Act (CRA) to undo 150 rules put in place since mid May of 2016. Can it really be the first time since Herbert Hoover in 1928 there was a Republican president with control of both houses of Congress (and soon the Supreme Court)? That worked out well. People keep saying that, bush had all three houses for much of his presidency, including re-election in 04. They wasted all of the capital on SS privatization.
  18. Yeah, I think we'll make a thread change. I assumed this was confirmed overnight. Still seems crazy to do. If we rebuild we will need some major league players and lawrie is cheap and can play 2 positions.
  19. Really wonderful, from Leon Weiseltier https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverythi...trumps-america/
  20. http://www.forbes.com/sites/modeledbehavio...y/#1377fccc215c More of similar line.
  21. Yeah. A good reminder that Cutler can blow you out of football games.
  22. Great Cutler game.
  23. Floyd really looks like he's gonna develop.
  24. I would be very concerned if I was a dodgers fan and Lawrie was their best option
