  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 15, 2015 -> 06:09 PM) Hawkins looks at strike 3, and walks in front of the catcher to get Thompson out on interference. Youth. LOL. He has had nice st but he seems good for one absolutely clueless at bat per game
  2. It sounds like a rough game from Soto. More control issues from Robertson.
  3. 4-10 vs Min Noesi I would love if they would manipulate this to not happen.
  4. Albers looking like he will stick. Bullpen pieces look so much more put together than last year.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 10:00 AM) It wasnt a seperate issue to the fans maybe, but the Bears had to do it. I wasnt and I am still not mad that they did it. I was somewhat skeptical that Peppers could play OLB, but in the back of my mind I knew that Peppers was a freak and he could probably do it(even though I wanted him to fail because he was on the packers) I am fine, and still fine, with cutting peppers. But I would be much happier today had we never signed Allen and stopped at Houston/Young. Honestly when I think about our d next year, I don't even consider Allen a part of it.
  6. Honestly all of the clips were way funnier than I expected. That he actually tried and it all counted made it pretty amazing. Cool stuff by MLB to work out.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 09:39 AM) Peppers and Allen are two seperate issues though. IIRC if the Bears kept Peppers, his cap hit last season was something ridiculous like 24 million, the Bears had to get out from under that. It sucks that Allen fell off the cliff, but they still saved money by getting rid of Peppers It wasn't a separate issue last year. There was a "allen contract v peppers contract' and everyone thought pack were crazy signing peppers at age 34 to that money! Allen is 2 years younger and way better!
  8. So Jared Allen has a fully guaranteed 12.5 mill cap hit for next year. One reason why nobody should listen to my opinions on football is I was super pumped about that. Man were the packers dumb signing peppers! d'oh.
  9. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 12:37 PM) I like the youth/size/speed of Foster, but can he play? IIRC, he was pretty bad in Tampa last year. It could be the product of being on a bad team, but I dunno. . . Pace is a pro-personnel guy, so I'm sure he watched a ton of tape on him. Hope he's right. He was playing mike in a 4-3 in tampa, maybe they see he'll be better suited in 3-4. Hopefully.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 11:40 AM) Oh good point... Do you think living with your parents and/or your in laws, even if in a well-designed, large space, would drive you absolutely f***ing crazy though? Yes, but if them being there meant not having to pay for a nanny/childcare, I think I could live with it.
  11. Looks like bears are frontloading their deals to take all the guaranteed money this year. I like that policy, especially since no real stars left to chase. Take the hit this year.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 11:35 AM) So I mentioned in another thread I am shopping for a home for my parents, because they would like to move out to Las Vegas (where my wife and I live). We have a son on the way. My wife's parents live here in Las Vegas as well. Am I nuts for considering having a multi-generational home built? Apparently these are beginning to become a little more commonplace in the United States, but are fairly common elsewhere in the world. Rising childcare, healthcare, energy and other costs of living are continuously increasing, and it is cheaper to maintain one large household than several small ones. I dunno, it seems to make quite a bit of sense assuming you can design a home in such a way that allows for the separate generations to have adequate space and privacy. Would probably make a lot of sense in SW where there could be bigger market. I'm pretty sure the chicago two-flat, and every other cities (brownstones, philly/baltimore rowhouses) were actually build for multi-family. They just became something different.
  13. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 10:57 AM) You're saying a competent coach can't turn things around in one season? I only think this is a possibility if it turns out that players like Bostic/Houston/Shea/Fuller were severely underutilized and turn out to be impact players. I think a competent coach will make the team competitive, but this isn't one of those stacked young teams that just couldn't put it together that sometimes pull away (look at Rams), this is a team that had a bunch of awesome vets hiding the horrid drafting for 10 years. They are all gone, we need time to restock.
  14. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 10:29 AM) So how many acquisitions is that for Bears this season? That being said, will any of them help the bears actually win something this year? Best way to think of this, these are all solid football players, with the possibility that one could be a star in this D (McPhee). They are at this point just "averaging" out our D to buy us some time to find true impact talent in draft.
  15. Would be shocked if Bears contend next year, like all the moves though. It allows us to go for BPA and not say "WE NEED A NOSE TACKLE" or something like that.
  16. edit: wow I was late. Yeah, I know spring training articles are garbage. On the other hand, these are the last article slikely to be written on some of these prospects for a while (if ever if they don't pan out). Nice to see some info.
  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 09:28 AM) a really good answer, but when he has the hot hand, don't you want him to continue to play?? The problem with Doug is he over rotates on defense (in Thibs D you are supposed to feign intervention on a drive, but not get too far from the 3pt shooters). He always goes too far and can't recover, or goes for a dumb strip. He'll be good eventually, i'm sure of it.
  18. Is there some really pressing issue going on that should prevent us during spring training to focus on our lottery ticket players getting a puff piece? I enjoyed article. I can say without a doubt this guy is going to win at least 12 cy youngs and probably run a successful line of work out videos.
  19. I freaked out for a second when I saw " Bears S Conte signs 1 year deal" Not realizing there was a second line "in Tampa."
  20. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 02:27 AM) 2 different player, 2 different position and 2 different responsibilities. Seriously, people have been begging Moore to take Hinrich's minutes and he mostly has. Last night featured 3 of our 5 starters out, and sixth man. Not shocking he wanted to limit a rookies minutes when niko and snell were required.
  21. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 09:52 PM) Antrel Rolle and Eddie Royal officially signed per Brad Biggs, Michael Wright, etc on Twitter. Not too surprising. Solid pickups. Both 3 year deals, hopefully structured to get rid of earlier
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) After you do close, don't look at the amortization schedule either. It's just depressing. Congrats though! I can't wait for my $5 mortgage payment in 2045!
  23. crap, will miss it. Thought later.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 03:07 PM) Awesome dude. Great ready to sign your life away. I realized at noon that this was probably the most cash i'd have for a long long time
