  1. Hysterical to me watching the offense get nine yards on first down, then losing yards next two downs. Oh sweet now another drop.
  2. Pretty sure I did not advocate rotating below average hitters in the DH, I acknowledged the cost in my post.
  3. He just needs to stay healthy. If he plays 75 plus games and playoffs I think he wins. People don't remember what a dominant big man is like. There's a novelty there.
  4. I will say I'm just somewhat disappointed in that it seemed like this would be beginning of a new team strategy for using our position players. For first time since forever, the possibility that our DH could be switched among 11/12 position players could have happened rather than just having two 1B. In all likelihood finding a LH non 1b for this would have been extremely expensive. But, just feeling a bit of "more of this then, eh?"
  5. That picture off center with a player right on the thirty five does not convince me, sorry.
  6. I mean 1) they were correct calls and 2) it took incredible luck of two missed xp to get to that point. Mizzou dominated. Should not have been close.
  7. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 02:14 AM) Spotrac had us at just a touch under $51M after the "dead money" of Kep, etc w/o LaRoche. Right now, the Sox have 7 roster spots filled as of right now w/ LaRoche & Duke, so that would be 18 left to fill, so let's say they use 3 spaces via FA, that leaves them with 15 spots to fill which if you times that by $.600M (to be safe vs $.500) you have a total of $9M (forgot to fill LaRoche's spot originally). So if they had $51M accounted for, plus $12.5M via LaRoche and $9M of "the rest of the roster minus 3 FA's", that's a total of $72.5M. Give or take a few mill from ARB, they will be sitting at around $75-77M (b/c I don't see them keeping Viciedo). What about Duke
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 22, 2014 -> 06:30 AM) I'd like to throw the Blazers a second rounder to get Meyers Leonard. I'd like to see what he could do under a coach like Thibs You are only person in world who'd want that b****face on their team.
  9. Duck the refs twice now. Mirotic getting fouled like crazy and nothing.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 22, 2014 -> 04:07 AM) I don't watch much NBA at all, but IMO Mirotic has some major potential. It seems like he has the natural basketball talent, just can he learn how to play the NBA game. His confidence has exploded last few games. Just need his fouls to get under control.
  11. Bulls fans talking s*** as they are getting smoked. Classic.
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 09:23 PM) IMHO This is one of the most important aspects of the minor leagues and "learning to be a professional ballplayer." People to often complain about rushing good players. Most often it helps them in the long run. Beckham should have spent more time in the minors. I really think it would have helped him learn to adjust out of the MLB spotlight. I frankly just disagree that this is a universal rule. Look at Tennis, some are Pete Sampras, who move ahead early and get killed for a few years before dominating. Others do much better always dominating until full maturity and then moving pro. For some, confidence can be really precarious at ages 17-20 where they had been ahead for so many years. When they fail before they are pro, it can really destroy some personalities who may have done better on a different track.
  13. Gonna see a lot of Noah run the offense. Moore can do it if we plug noah at the key.
  14. Got offered tickets to Sundays bears game and declined. No thanks.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 12:50 PM) http://www.providencejournal.com/sports/re...-trend-last.ece “The TV deals are the single most important variable in how aggressive a team can be,” said Cubs president Theo Epstein, whose organization has positioned itself (not sure how the author thinks they've done anything but being forced to wait for the Comcast deal to run its course) to negotiate a new TV deal after 2019. “You can chart a team’s spending in certain offseasons based on the timing of their TV deal and how it big it was. It’s something fans are starting to become more aware of and track, but it’s really a driving force in the industry dynamic that goes unseen.” (A month ago, Epstein told season-ticket holders that the next TV contract will be “the magic bullet, the paradigm-shifter.”)
  16. I think we do need a roider piece of s***.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 04:06 PM) I'll just basically say that I'd prefer they avoid trading Quintana under any circumstances, but will reserve judgment on that. Agreed.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 05:15 PM) The officiating was extremely one sided in this game. Made it very hard for the Bulls to stay in the game / take the lead. I don't complain about officiating a lot but it was really bad last night and not bad as in bad for both teams, but very bad for the Bulls. McDermott continues his streak of awfulness. Niko looks like he has star potential. Again, not saying he'll reach it, but his scoring skill-set appears to have a ton of upside and defensively I expect him to grow and be a pretty solid defender and a very good rebounder. When you walk into a game thin, and then immediately get put into foul trouble, good luck. I went to bed at halftime knowing it was over. One thing to put Bulls in foul trouble like that, but to not get any fouls for the bulls when we are playing the Kings, just ridiculous.
  19. Ugh. Screw this game. Refs put everyone in foul trouble, Bairstow in.
  20. 4 fouls in second quarter. Come on Niko. Some were weak no doubt.
  21. Damn, Mirotic is never gonna get more than 15 minutes until he can stop fouling. He has 3 in like 4 minutes.
  22. I still can't believe how much this Bulls offense looks like an offense.
