  1. This is a brilliant promotion many have been pushing for.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 04:43 PM) I don't think people realize how strong he is. They'll find out this season. I assumed he hit home run when I read these. What happened?
  3. How does gay marriage require money? Drug legalization?
  4. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 02:59 PM) I didn't make up a definition of socially liberal...that's what being socially liberal is. It's you guys changing the definitions to fit this weak ass fantasy party. You very much did. In no survey ever conducted has road maintenance been a social issue. As much as I find these "what if there was a magical third party that represented all reasonable people" posts to be, they are quite clearly talking about something completely different than you.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 02:50 PM) You cannot be socially liberal if you are fiscally conservative...the two things are opposites. A socially liberal person spends money (even if they don't have it) on all types of social issues, such as helping the poor, building parks, fixing roads, etc...even if it accrues massive debt in doing so. Therefore...you cannot be one if you are the other, as a fiscally conservative person would NOT spend money they don't have. This topic makes as much sense as the nWo helping Sting at Wrestlemania. This post is ridiculous. You make up a nonsense definition of socially liberal and then applied it to the conversation as if that's what people were discussing.
  6. QUOTE (Tex @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Ah, now the fun of that proposal. Cost - Benefit? How can we assure ourselves that the second person can overpower the pilot if necessary? How can we assure ourselves that the second person won't be the one to take over the plane and plan a control flight into terrain? The irony that we felt safer when pilots could insulate themselves from the other passengers. Now we want people on the outside to get inside. This was already policy in US. Frankly, this is a rare and terrible incident, and frankly having 2 people in cockpit makes sense for numerous reasons that go beyond preventing mass murder. But yes, I do think that murderers are weird and may struggle with looking a friend in the eye and murdering them vs. locking them away and doing it. Frankly, if a pilot is dead set on crashing a plane they will likely accomplish it.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) So given my example of the gay copy shop owners, you think it's right and just that they have to serve Christians that openly hate them and work to deny them equal treatment, or be faced with a lawsuit? Yeah.
  8. So do you guys look at the recent Israel election and think "oh man that's awesome"
  9. Congrats to Scott Carroll. I remember his brother was on here a bit last year.
  10. this is nice, feels like bulls are really coming together right before playoffs. Wish they had a more dominant year regardless.
  11. Petricka's sounds bad. I know his elbow MRI came back negative...but nothing is pointing to this being a "15 day DL" stint.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) First week of Spring Training I was annoyed by all of the posters coming in and saying "Spring Training stats don't matter." Now I am wondering where these people went... The Sox know where both of these guys were coming into the season. Everyone's gushing over Sanchez line all of a sudden (where his average = his slugging) but it's not like it changes his offensive profile in the MLB. I am still where I was prior to ST, Sanchez should get it and they Micah can hit his way into at AAA. Selfishly, I'd rather watch Micah out there but being objective Sanchez has a case. Something else to consider is that Sox can effectively ruin Sanchez's value by brin ging him up and having him sport a Darwin Barney-esque line. Sure he's a defense first guy but he can probably go down to Charlotte and put together another good offensive season. TBH, I don't have huge preference. But I got very nervous after seeing some awkward defensive plays last 2 games I watched, especially when A Garcia and Cabrera and Soto have looked awful. It's scary to have another position be terrible defensively when we are looking at that.
  13. Who is Charlotte 1B now? Black and that's it?
  14. So bored of spring training
  15. Good luck to him.
  16. I still wouldn't mind if sox came out and gave to Sanchez. I would appreciate having strong D up the middle when we have horrendous D on the corners.
  17. Bonifacio finally with nice play to his right. Pretty sure that ball hit the base runner though.
  18. Joke's on me for questioning horse medication.
  19. I just want to get out of round 1. I keep dreaming bulls suddenly start playing like in December, with beautiful passing and shooting, knocking out western conference teams left and right. We'll see.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 01:57 PM) Thanks. He was injured really early on.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) How long are the Bulls likely to stay healthy? If they manage to get Rose and everyone back for round 1, are you confident they could last through round 3 without a serious injury? Is the serious injury to Hinrich?
  22. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 11:41 AM) How big is your grill? Just a weber. Plus chairs/tables. It's my first opening day, want to do more than my normal routine of drinking a tallboy on the curb next to someone's pickup truck.
  23. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 11:27 AM) As someone who is coming from 180 miles away and doesn't know the city well, would it be wise for me to purchase parking in advance? I've been to plenty of games but usually not ones that will be as packed as this. If I don't pay for a pass in advance how early would be recommended to arrive to ensure parking in the Sox lots? I remember when Frank Thomas had his number retired we ended up having to park a long ways from the stadium and take a shuttle. I'd rather not have to do that again. Sorry, didn't mean to freak you out. You will definitely find parking, sox usually have 2 big lots they rarely even use on games. I just was hoping to tailgate closer to the stadium.
  24. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 11:08 AM) Take the train. I am taking the train, however, grills are difficult to bring on the CTA.
  25. We did not get a parking pass, hopefully we are not in the lot 2 miles away.
