Wasn't del rio the coach who put the axe and tree stump in the locker room and their kicker cut his own leg off?

49ers aggressively pursuing coaches. I worry with so many new positions to hire, Bears will shuffle their feet and have a weak crop to go off of (in a pretty weak crop already).

Gentrification
If you are really interested in it, there has been more paper spent on gentrification than World War Two, and basically: -it's a net positive for the neighborhood -those it negatively affects are the poorest and most vulnerable - there are ways to mitigate the negative affects - those ways are often not utilized, as those who move in often start performing nimby regulations - the best way to help these neighborhoods are often counterintuitive, building of any kind is preferable to blocking new development, which is equivalent of putting heads in sand - there is a large painful wound of 60s era urban renewal which was really painful and poorly done that looms over all of this

Should The Sox Buy the Old Post Office For A New Stadium?
I haven't tried that. I imagine it tastes like metal cleaner. I may go to to the brewery to pick my games this year though.

QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 12:22 PM) a six pack of old style is cheaper. Too much hassle.

I have to say, the moon mullin article today where he states that Marinelli left after we hired his third choice, while Emery felt Marinelli was sure thing to stay, was another huge black eye. Guy just was a decent talent evaluator but bad judge of character and people manager.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 12:18 PM) If Emery just franchises Cutler for this year instead of the big contract, does he keep his job? I think so. But really Trestman was his undoing. Also, it's clear we learned that while Free Agency is fun, it means nothing. This team needed to draft like crazy and he instead tried to go big fast. Rotted inside out.

Should The Sox Buy the Old Post Office For A New Stadium?
My after work routine for games: Go to Walgreens Buy two 24 oz beers Take green line Go to parking lot and sit on curb, share beer with friend Walk in I love this. It's very convenient. When I lived in suburbs no train past 1030 was a bummer, but that should be an easy fix.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 11:17 AM) We'll actually be getting an experiment on this in the next couple years as the Braves open their new stadium. That city is built much differently.

To be fair, I don't think the appeal of Shanahan to McCaskey is the Cutler connection.

People are driving less and less, clearly key to sox future is to ignore that trend and buy in the suburbs. Known by all for interesting nightlife and transportation convenience.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 10:24 AM) No it won't. This is just another failure of this organization. Another terrible hire, another terrible signing. Add them to the list. At some point they're all forgotten. Eh, every head coach in my lifetime at least made it to the playoffs in their tenure. This was a huge failure.

I'm home today and a bit bored, and am watching Kap and Haugh. Desperate times. I'll say Haugh ain't bad. I'd go after Chase Daniel. Mainly because Mizzou. What could go wrong? Oh, Gabbert.

I can't believe demitrioff survived. Smith was bad at clock management, but they had a baaddd offensive and defensive line, and injuries all through linebackers and dbs. But if you hire mike tide you deserve to be fired.

The key here is it wasn't just a football failure. The locker room and players interactions with the media were out of control. Fans not showing up in droves. I think it scared the mccaskeys, in order for them to remain perpetually rich hey need to at least appear to have all in order.

I won't look back as angry at Phil Emerys talent acquisitions, but he hitched his career on Cutler and Trestman. You don't get another chance after this year.

North Korean internet
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 24, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) I have worked for companies that have more computers hooked to the internet than all of North Korea does. Someone told me they only have like 140 IP addresses
