  1. Can't wait to hear the Beverly pronunciation of Pedro Grifol
  2. I think I get it in the same way that I didn't want Miguel Cairo even though I think his in game managing was strong and seemed good.
  3. I think he was hurt by hitching to the wrong wagon, but clearly has a good rep around the game. He is very ricky renteria-y, but I think looking back RR could have been saved had the sox put a much better group around him to help. They let him play the role of super star manager with two mumbling buddies on the bench. If in same situation, grifol will also fail.
  4. I wish him the best. Was a firm believer that a good manager could come from anywhere, as evidenced by a whole lot. Really wanted Kevin Long but it was pretty much just for Eloy. Would pay upwards of Leury Garcia's salary to poach kevin long. However: - If he cannot sack joe mcewing and dbo then I already hate him, sorry pedro.
  5. interesting, we may see a WR added today
  6. Knowing how to read things and then implement them is actually very good.
  7. James Robinson just got a conditional 5th (likely a sixth). Not sure I’d expect more than a fifth for Monty.
  8. your quote was that sox fans are just lemmings who were excited he could speak spanish. Not that he may not be as advertised because he hasn't been promoted yet. Not hard to look at Espada's wiki for more than 2 seconds and understand why fans put him A1.
  9. wow bears traded roquan for a 2nd and a fifth in 2023 to the ravens.
  10. "bench coach for team in 3 of the last 5 world series" seems like it is good enough for people now SMDH
  11. I still wish Chase Utley would show up as a candidate.
  12. Very important follow-up lol. Thought they were like those disney adults.
  13. It's this part of the resume I wish we had a yankees fan on for. I would say it was more 20/21 when the yankees infield really became miserable, but would like to know if that era of defense was just untalented or also seemed as unfocused/lazy.
  14. Just in case anyone wants elaboration of my twitter usage. If I follow you for white sox baseball, and suddenly you start expressing very stupid white sox baseball opinions, I will probably unfollow you (unless you are kyyle). If I follow you for finance, and you express some stupid opinions about like, seed oils. I will likely still follow you unless it becomes a primary seed oil account.
  15. That's what I'm hoping - that they buy the trenches this year. I'd prioritize Jack Conklin to slide into RT and let borom/Leatherwood compete for swing g/t spots. Center unfortunately looks lean, but maybe you try to get the end of jason kelce's years, where it feels like C has a longer lifespan. A'shawn robinson, daron payne, Javon hargrave are FA on the DT front, with Chubb/Clowney/Davenport leading the edge rushers. Hell, we may re-sign Robert quinn since he doesn't want to move.
  16. uh, yeah, twitter is my entertainment. I didn't slash their tires.
  17. Yeah. I can’t believe how many people blocked out what 2010-on era Ozzie was like.
  18. Sox twitter was so weirdly pro Ozzie last night I had to unfollow people.
  19. I'm still super nervous about WR and the potential to improve it in the offseason. The last few offseasons have found a disgruntled WR to snag, but this last offseason so many of that group were locked up (hence me moving toward Evans in a screwed cap). You have maybe Calvin Ridley forcing a trade but if I'm the Falcons I would instead hope to draft a QB and go into his rookie year with Pitts, London and Ridley. I would bet that Baltimore sells out for DJ Moore making it difficult on bears whose best weapon may be a high 2nd round pick in any trades. There is a chance Deandre hopkins gets cut / traded with az's freefall But that's what makes a trade for Elijah moore scary. If you have to send a 3rd, you really handicap yourself in a potential star moving. In FA, gallup is the only one remotely interesting and he needs to show a lot more progress. Ideally you don't enter the draft with only one possibility in the first round because you may be run out of it.
  20. I'm actually glad, shows they are just doing a wide range search people asked for. The manager position is weird, I don't think good ones gained that much from prior stops as third base or bench coaches. It's more it raises their floor knowing they've interacted and had to lead players to some extent.
  21. I looked into some of the playoff org bench coaches. Not against him, but big knock to me is his role as infield instructor. The yankees this year waived the white flag on that infield D, sacrificing offense for kiner-falefa. The defensive talent was poor, but not sure I could say he got the most of it.
  22. Have been enjoying watching hawks a bit. Kind of amazed, considering how I heard they wouldn’t field a professional hockey team, how enjoyable they are. Like Domi just going after Jost for hitting Kane.
  23. Got another guy I wish would have come up: Chase Utley I think my total now is : granderson, beltre, yadi, utley
