I still think Popovich should get it. But I think this year dispels all doubt that Thibs is a Doug Colllins burn you out type coach. He pushes players hard, but he's fair, and he never calls a player out to the media if he's not liking their effort. And as you saw with Bellinelli, he will immediately reward with playing time if they start to understand the defense in practice. And especially those big high profile games like vs. miami and ny, with garbage lineups, the teams play incredibly disciplined and get big wins. I think those get him a lot of buy-in from his players, who know the system works if they play within it.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 08:32 PM) And the pitching staff is, bare minimum, top 10 in the majors with the potential to be top 5. The team is better than this are you are nitpicking a weakness to try and prove a rather weak and hollow point. Which is incredibly hard to do. And to me it's all the more amazing that we could have such mediocre teams with such great pitching year to year. Ultimately, that's a failure.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 07:16 PM) Exactly the description I'd like to hear about people on the House Intelligence Committee. haha

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 04:20 PM) I feel like Mad Men is just set on repeat, especially the Pete/Don storylines. Didn't we see the same type of scenes 2-3 seasons ago? Although the Trudy/Pete scene was pretty epic. I decided I was done after the opener. I am not interested anymore in a dark take of people never change and redemption doesn't exist. I used to be fine with don's cheating, thinking it was part of his need to keep secrets because of his past. But now his past is pretty much settled, and so it's just that don's a sleezebag except this time he's hurting someone who is a good person and treats him well. I don't find that entertaining.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 02:48 PM) Watched Red tails last night, and it was awful. Every character and plot line was a horrible shallow cliche. Just terrible. It felt like they were trying to make the war movie through the lens of a sports movie. I didn't like that.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 02:44 PM) I thought his performance was great, I thought the movie was ok, I thought that some of the elements weren't dealt with in quite enough detail and it was a bit scatterbrained overall, in no small part because they were dealing with just a small part of his career. The best part was seeing how the man was portrayed, but the surrounding plot line didn't stand up to his performance. I agree. If you are going to go hyper focused on a single element of his presidency, it shouldn't have been as unfocused as it was.

Well if we play the playoffs like we did vs. St. Louis I'm less concerned about physical play than I was. Absolute beauty of an assist by Kane last night.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 02:51 PM) The Governor now says that were NO unexploded bombs found, just the two that went off. I'm not surprised at all by this. I found those claims to be the most likely to be fudged in the haze.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 10:32 PM) That's kinda sad I'd never heard of it either. Not really ever mentioned in Chicago.

also, 22 people are injured (maybe more), that's not nothing.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 09:41 PM) They've already been pretty substantially wrong twice now. I don't think they really are more credible than Steve.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 09:30 PM) mother f***ers, whoever did this.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 09:55 PM) I read this and was not quite sure how to react. So a potential suicide bomber did not blow himself up entirely and now we will try and put him back together again. I hope he is at the end of the triage line. Yes, instead of getting information from him to see if anyone else was involved, we should let him die.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) Why would that matter to the authorities? So people can call for emergencies and not calling people they know are okay just to talk about it.

KC on the whole has good talent, but unfortunately this is not a QB draft and boy do they need a QB and more skill position players in general.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 09:31 PM) ummmm.... @BostonGlobe BREAKING NEWS: Police getting multiple reports of unexploded devices around Boston These may just be abandoned suitcases and other things that people are more suspicious of now.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 14, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) The playoffs can't get here soon enough... Sunday was an awesome game though.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 04:23 PM) Still though, am I the only one who would be intrigued (or even ok) with such a pick? Certainly not at 20 as that's a bit of a reach but if they can manage to trade down and get him I would be absolutely thrilled with the potential identity as a big physical passing team. If they believe this guy is an upgrade over a current starter, then I fully stand by any pick they'll make like that. That said, I'd prefer a G or LB, but i have no idea whose available. I know nothing about college fball players beside that I thought Jarvis Jones was incredible last year and I dreamed of a LB like him.

This is such a huge bummer. Really hoping Beckham could pull through, I'm guessing this is it. -

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 05:46 PM) Oh, I completely get it. I just find it shallow and nothing more than a dog and pony show. I understand your viewpoint, but dog and pony show and weddings go hand in hand.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 07:12 PM) That's not what I'm talking about, though. I mean the type of people who clamor for the Bears to hire (insert name of '85 player) here as a coach just because of the name even though they've got no actual coaching credentials. Or ignore the ones who have coached but actually have a strong track record of failure like Singletary and Rivera, and yes, even Ditka later on. Or, the ones who will intently listen to Jim McMahon's opinion on how Cutler is doing even though he is going senile and says he doesn't watch games... or the inane ramblings of Gale Sayers, who doesn't follow the team either (I know Sayers isn't an '85 Bear, but it's the same phenomenon). I want to ban all these people from the internet and any interaction with the media. Exactly this.
