QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) Yeah, I think most of my St. Louis bashing comes from the southern Illinois people I met in college who seemed to think the world revolved around the city. I actually had my bachelor party there (Hawks/Blues game) and hit up Mardi Gras a few times, good times were definitely had. This is where my hate comes from as well.

Because I have been such a hater, I thought I would mention that korver has not been a defensive liability or huge spaz recently. Its amazing. He's not good, but he isn't ... Korver bad anymore

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 05:56 AM) Gibson hasnt been nearly as good as Boozer this season and really Asik vs. Noah is a wash. Noah starts because we know there's a damn good player in there, which to me is justifiable. Gibson has been terrible. I agree he's like boozer in that he settles for only jumpers, but at least boozer makes them.

just to be clear, by you agree with his foreign policy you agree with pulling out of all international treaties (including NATO), eliminating all of our bases, and all future uses of military influence. Not just pulling out of Afghanistan, correct? And...you wnt to eliminate the fed, go to a gold standard, etc.

Korver played 32 min last night and scored 8 points on 2 of 7 shooting. I can see why he's playing so much.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 02:42 AM) The Rams job is nice because you have Bradford and Long and probably can trade the #2 pick...but I'm talking about a GM perspective... plus if you succeed in STL you can open up a s***ty restaurant and people will go to it no matter what.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 02:54 AM) What does Jimmy Butler have to do to get meaningful minutes? Luol is about to die because of all the minutes and Korver can only shoot. Thibs is a great Xs and Os coach, but his game rotations leave a lot left to be desired. You have to admit though, Korver was actually pretty damn good on defense tonight.

If rose didn't play john lucas is our only pg. That's what keeps rose playing. But man am i tired of Korver at SG and Deng at SF. For christs sake can we let deng rest for more than 5 minutes a game? and also PUT IN JIMMY BUTLER. FREE JIMMY BUTLER.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) Politics in this country is terrible. It's why I rarely post in this forum. There is simply no choice in our leadership, other than ultra-liberal or mega-conservative. Nothing goes anywhere, as the two fight like jealous siblings instead of working together and compromising to achieve goals. At any level of politics, your only real choice is between two caricatures of their respective parties, and anyone who has a middle-of-the-road view has no actual shot at winning. ultra liberal my thumb.

I'm done hating. These long pass plays don't happen if teams didn't have to focus on their running game. Pittsburgh played like dog s*** and if I lost to this broncos team I would resign...but Tebow will be an NFL qb. Maybe not always a starter, but he will be the most obnoxious backup in the history of the game.

that Gingrich superpac video is devastating. I can't believe a video like that is coming from the right. It's stuff like this that pisses people off about Gingrich.

Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 09:11 AM) Point stands though that while Bulls' management has done a solid job, the reason this team will be a perennial 60-plus-win team is because of the "lucky" lottery balls. And so you can consider us just as unlucky for being the worst team in the league during the terrible 99-02 drafts, and then getting just good enough to miss out on the incredible 03 draft. The nba is all about luck in the draft.

Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 06:15 PM) The NBA also has twice as many playoff teams. I just don't think you can look to Jerry's handling of the bulls as an example as to why he's bad for the sox. The bulls are a pretty well run franchise.

Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?
QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) You have absolutely no guarantees this rebuilding is going to somehow turn the Sox around for the better. You only have to look to Madison Avenue and recall this owner's last attempt at rebuilding. Took over a decade for the Bulls to be viable again - and that was with near capacity crowds every game. He won't be getting that at the Cell. But Sox fans are comfortable with prolonged periods of mediocrity - to the delight of this owner. It's Madison Street, and it only took 5 years to get back to the playoffs, which wasn't that long considering the complete dismantling after 1998. We were essentially an expansion team.

Penn State horror story
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) Where did I say anything to the contrary? I asked "Boot PSU for what?" I never mentioned the 1st amendment, its not even govt action how could the 1st amendment apply? I already previously stated this wasnt a freedom of speech argument. I merely asked the question, Why should PSU be booted for players having an opinion? And followed it with a flippant remark about restricting peoples opinions. Because if former penn state players and students start making headlines about how unfairly the school that saw a child rape scandal is being treated, because they hired a new coach they didn't want, and other schools start feeling like their image is being derailed because of their conference association, then yes, they can act. But you seem to think everything happens in a vacuum. They are symbols of penn state. When they speak, people think "this is how penn state fans/administrators must feel". And considering how whiney and incredibly stupid it is, yes, i continue to think less and less of that program. As do many across the country.
