QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 02:29 AM) I HOPE this is the case, I really do. In any event it's a horrible decision bringing in MT. Let's hope we can just get him back to being one of the best setup guys in the game and find someone else to close. in his career ozzie has been a lot of things, but a manager with a short lease, i wouldn't say so. -

guys, buehrle was probably tired, and every manager is going to suck when your bullpen is playing like s***. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 02:02 AM) I've been right once today...so I'm gonna try it again. 1-2-3 here for Thornton. this gets a don't stop, get it get it -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 10:55 PM) All of those toppings sound good, but what else do they have? parmesan cheese, and something else. I got everything on sunday and didn't look up for 5 minutes.

I think his whole section on memphis is very spot on. Frankly if the bulls had to play memphis in the first round I'd be very very worried. They played us hard.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) So Derrick Rose's TS% went from as low as 53.5% to 55% after yesterday's 13/17 shooting performance. He's now 5th in win shares, still a win share behind Howard and two behind LeBron, but I don't think it's really a statistical fallacy to give Rose the MVP at this point. Like some others have suggested... Totally, let me quote and link to bill simmons article because it totally imo articulates the pro-rose case, w/o having to s*** on the others. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...mp;sportCat=nba The whole thing is great, but the choice parts i find are:

well, the whole dig was the fact that kendalls is a college bar, then others saying they didn't care b/c it's cheap, which is why i said there are other cheap places that don't feature a bunch of meaty cubs fans puking at their feet because they went to a bar to get f***ed up and hit on chicks.
-
Right, but kendalls drink specials are for college kids.
-
You gotta get the corn off the cob. You can get everything on it, but at the very least get the lime, butter, mayo and red pepper.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) I catch as many drink specials as I can on the weekend. Im not in college, but I dont care for overpriced drinks or an upper crest crowd, so my friends and I generally go to places with drink specials. Id rather spend $30 to have a good time, than $150. The only negative is that at the pricier bars youre probably going to find more high end ladies, but Im into the girl next door type, so I prefer the classless scene. I have to dress nice for work, Im wearing whatever I want on the weekend. Because you either have to spend $30 a night to drink with college kids or spend $150. There are other neighborhoods beside lincoln park and river north. There's a lot of bars in chicago that are cheap, the ones on lincoln ave tend to have a lot of younger people who just get smashed and are obnoxious.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 06:26 PM) Where I would disagree with you is that, if the Heat or Spurs win it all, then they will and maybe should be considered "great" teams. Regardless of the somewhat turbulent regular season that the Heat have experienced, if they win it all, they will be lauded for "enduring the the media spotlight", "prevailing against the masses who wished for their doom" or "needed the time to work out the kinks" so on and so forth. I think, in general, that it is too early to anoint anyone as "great" because we just don't know how this will all shake out. In terms of the regular season, the Bulls had a pretty outstanding regular season. But so did the 2006-07 Mavericks (67 Wins) and they lost to the Warriors in the first round. I don't think anyone would use the word "great" to describe that team, despite its amazing regular season. The Bulls play really great defense though, which makes me a lot more confident than if I were the 06-07 mavs. Bulls definitely have high hopes, and I will be disappointed grreatly if they lost to miami or anyone really. But yeah, having a #1 seed going into the playoffs (i.e. 5 months of great basketball) is not the same as getting 38 wins and the eight seed like the late part of the last decade. This was a fun season no matter.

Not sure the celtics can be fully loaded anymore. That said, Bill Simmons year in review articles were pretty great.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 06:50 AM) Yes, if you are between the ages of 18-21, Kendalls and Kelsey's are good choices. Otherwise, that entire stretch of Lincoln is not for you. aaagreed.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 9, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) So bmags you do believe that poor people should have abortions because they can't afford their children? Nowhere stated. Nowhere. PP isn't just abortions as stated a billion times.

Great first sox game of the year. Tailgating, ice cold beer, corn off the cob and a white sox winner.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) So much of Deng's improvement has been "Staying on the court" and "Being put in the right defensive scheme". and not just getting the ball and immediately running to the hoop with your head down and trying to make a shot inbetween 4 people. He only does that once a game now.

I feel uncomfortable running a nation where we'll put our heads in the sands and act like people don't have sex out of marriage, and just forcing young, uneducated women (uneducated in the 'what is happening to my body and what should I do' sense) be forced into the shadows. If you've never been to planned parenthood, please shut up about it.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) They get 1 more matchup with the Heat in a few days right? That's gonna be a good test to see if anything is really different for them. Sunday TNT doubleheader of bulls/magic and celtics heat. Great day.

I think you guys are piling on. It's not like he's just posting "jackson sucks", his posts are reasonably backed up.

QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 11:10 PM) Great all-around game. Pitching. Defense. Timely hitting. Bullpen. Stolen bases. Double steal! Just got back from it but DAMN IT WAS COLD. DAMP cold. I'm happy i have sunday tickets!

QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) The MLB app is incredible, not only do you get audio streaming of games, but also almost immediate video highlights during the game. It's one of the best iPhone apps available. Yeah i was hesitant to buy it, but no regrets.
-
QUOTE (jhonnydanks @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 01:38 PM) they are usually the outfield seats behind visitors bullpen. Correct. That's where i sat for game 162 last year in the freezing rain.
