  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 2, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) Personally I'm fine with him being assassinated but it's just strange to see groups of people celebrating death. We do it here when "one of them" get killed and our enemies celebrate when our people get killed. I mean lets face it...we've killed countless numbers of civilians abroad and we've had many killed here as well. Religions on both sides claiming they are peace loving people. The human race is quite bizarre to me. When big things like this happen sometimes people just want to be around each other.
  2. QUOTE (G&T @ May 2, 2011 -> 06:41 PM) Weren't most current college students about 8-12 years old when 9/11 occured? I doubt they have any real lasting memories of that day. My guess is all of them have real lasting memories of that day. If it wasn't for him, maybe this last decade wouldn't have featured 2 wars and these people who were "8-12 with no lasting memories" would not have had their friends go off and fight and some die instead of staying home and going to school and creating families.
  3. Just wanted to pop in to say that I was surprised how emotional and happy I was to hear this news. I dont' think I would've known how I would have reacted if you posed a hypothetical, but it was very emotional. A tremendous sense of closure for sure.
  4. I agree with chisoxfn, the Thunder look like the tops of the league right now. poor seattle.
  5. yeah. I'd sacrifice producing 1 more drone for pakistan for some national pride or whatever people get from this.
  6. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) Bulls won 2 out of 3 in the regular season against Atlanta. The one game they lost they blew a 19 point lead. I think most people are expecting the Bulls to win this in 5. Of course after that 1 loss we'll hear about how we aren't cut out for the big boys. Nobody loses games in the playoffs and goes on to the championship.
  7. I think a lot of countries had it right when they kept a monarchy but stripped the power. People in the country seem to want something to illustrate who they are.We even try to force it on the President and their family to host these diplomat meetings and be the country's hostess but it's too awkward and we'd probably be better served just to name a king to have all that crap.
  8. I'm also surprised Newton is being considered for #1. But I'm also surprised Gabbert is so high. He's got the tools no doubt, but his pocket presence is going to be f***ed up.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 12:01 PM) Holy crap! Fast Five has 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. May have to see it. Only have seen first two. Bill SImmons and Adam Carolla's hour and a half long dissection of this movie made me want to see it.
  10. couldn't that be a pretty strategic default if you went to an expensive private school for a theatre major or religious studies degree?
  11. Usually I side with the owners in these disputes, but with all the head injuries and suicides of NFL players... they ought to cough it up.
  12. Boozer hasn't been great but I haven't been thrilled with how they've utilized him. Hey sort of isolated him from the flow of the offense and just sort of tossed the ball to him to "get him going". He plays much better with pick and pops. And also the passes to him were usually a second too late. And even in addition to that, the refs were hounding him on the offensive end.
  13. Last june when he was hitting bombs left and right he earned a spot in my heart. He lost it in september, but that june was fun.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) This Boozer news doesnt bother me. Boozer has been 100 percent the weakest link on this team. His defense made Hansbrough look like an all star at times, he was missing bunnies all over the place, taking ill advised jumpshots with a hand in his face, taking 3 second penalties left and right. I dont mind seeing Gibson taking up time on the floor at all. I just wish it would mean we could see a bit more of Rasual Butler I was thinking about a poster: Legends of the Guardian The Owls of Rasual with rasuals face covering the owls.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) I know why people want this. I still want the Celtics. I know why you say that as well. I'd rather face the celts b/c it would be much easier to lose. I no longer hate them, and would probably root for them to win if they beat us. That said, a victory against the heat would be way more triumphant.
  16. Go Bulls! This could either be one of the most excellent sports nights in chicago fandom or the most devastating. I hope we shoot the lights out tonight and end this ish.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 07:50 PM) The only thing I have seen that compares is a World Cup shootout. ugh, those are so cheap, sudden death in hockey they are at least playing the real game. I'd say walk offs in baseball for game 7's are the only thing close but that has not happened much.
  18. Man this series is great. Please please please come to it's natural conclusion.

I loved the fighter most from last year.
  20. If he's not still in jail then give him a second chance. He was a kid, people aren't always the same person they were at age 14.
