  1. Obviously Rodon going slider heavy in bullpen could be good, except he has been such a diva about it and doesn’t seem to be able to get up quickly with any amount of control.
  2. Rodon took Jake Peavys mantle for “white Sox pitcher with a reputation of bulldog on the mound that actually is never on the mound and really just complains a lot” Glad he could be back IMO UPDATE
  3. It’s caulfield so either his head or yahoo.com
  4. The dig was just a very nice movie.

People are talking about two different things. I don’t have any issue with the way this started. It was a value play, it was a short squeeze. My issue is that this started changing on Wednesday when it proliferated out of Reddit and a bunch of other groups started selling the David v Goliath sale. People are still selling to buy and that doing so you’ll just be taking free money from “Wall Street”. If you still honestly think hedge funds are going to be buying these shares back and not low info retail buyers who will be left holding the bag you are kidding yourselves.
  6. Feels like Rox would love Crochet
  7. I used to think the Sox weren’t a fit for Marquez, but after last night? Who knows. Man Rockies are garbage (yet find some amazing players)
  8. Don’t rebuilds involve getting prospects back?
  9. Wow yeah arenado was negative value. Holy crap what a horrible package
  10. Would be nice if we heard archer had a showcase and his shoulder stuff sounded good.
  11. yeah sorry, I guess assumption is he may be available and panthers may go for new qb.
  12. That's an interesting package. I wonder if he's around later.
  13. Ok, just confused since you were responding to who had upside in the lower tier beside Folty. I assumed we were talking about the trash heap group.
  14. So Paxton was under his normal fb averages for his showcase. Kluber was under his normal FB averages for his showcase. Last year he averaged under 91 mph. So that he's already in 90-92 and people thought he looked good probably means he's more like his 2019 form at least.
  15. Paxton and Walker are not dart throws. I'd be shocked if they don't get $10 mill +
  16. I mean go look back and see how you complained about full data not being released by both pfizer and moderna. It has been released ahead of FDA EUA submissions. This will too, and it will be in line. And if its not in line, it's emergency use will be delayed. AZ/OX was, and we are in emergency times now as well.

I mean this is true. But people can't have it both ways. In October I would have told you that Joc Pederson can be had for something like 1/$8-10 million or 2/$16 million. In december, Adam Eaton signs for essentially 1/$8, was told pederson sucks, and that he was trying for a big contract like $12 million+. In late January, he signs for 1/$7 million. The posters complaining about people complaining now were the same that tried to shut people up who complained then by saying he was going to be a lot more expensive. I think Joc Pederson is good and a great complement to sox lineup. I understand how eaton came to be. I'm sorry that it hurts people's brains to point out that sometimes players are better than we have, yet still not perfect players. It reminds me of when every marginal upgrade to 2b from 2017-2019 we'd hear that Yolmer Sanchez does the same thing. The idea that someone can be better but but amazing just destroys peoples brains it is so complicated.
  18. I don't think so. I think he knows a worse look would be trotting out Winston. From what it sounds like, Mac Jones is not a late round 1st anymore. So, best case scenario is likely Bridgewater in FA. They are giving up assets for a QB regardless, his tally is now a 2nd overall pick, 2 thirds, a fourth, and a fifth and $50 mill plus for Nick Foles, Mitch Trubisky, and Mike Glennon.
  19. Very likely schmoes like us will be a phase 2. The main thing for people like us to look for is for phase 1C to be on track for April 1st. That would be huge, this is a large group (3.2 million) in Illinois, if it finishes there on time, we are likely looking at 3-4 vaccines at once. I'm not sure how large phase 1C is (will likely include restaurant workers among otherS). Phase 2 I thought was a lottery but I'm not sure. So I guess my point is let's just hope that the next phase is on track for Apr 1. And my brain is set on sometime in May for my "phase" to kick in.
  20. LOL YES The hardest stuff for me to understand is say we do trade mack. He actually should be tradeable but for the bears this year it saves us like no money. Obviously it opens up money after that. You could either use that to re-sign a roquan, or supplement elsewhere. Typically MILB isn't hardest to find people, so if you get a 1st round pick for him, you do it. But yeah, I don't think it's possible for bears to offer best deal, mainly because we can't explicitly offer a top 5 pick. So it does require Watson to basically say "trade me here", which may be a bridge too far for houston. They may just say screw it, you are under contract, you already forcing a trade, enjoy NYJ.

    Yes he's good.
  22. @Harold's Leg Lift is this a dude?
  23. I think part of this (not verified in any way beyond just watching) is I think coop probably used to have a lot more say in scouting of pitchers and front office in getting good pitchers for coop. Starting with the rebuild that stopped happening. I think he can be good with veterans with established repertoire he can work with arsenals and savvy. But I think he was horrible communicating to younger, eager, athletic pitchers who still needed teaching.
