  1. Yeah and let’s just pray we get continued production from Jose Rodriguez, Ramos, Guzman, Bailey, and this years class. if Paddy found real firepower (meaning assets for trade, depth, or a bonafide starter) on the margins then this strategy may just work. But it requires these players to keep coming out.
  2. Naw, his history suggests otherwise. Worry more about literally everyone after him.
  3. Astudillo is actually an example of why I think Madrigal might succeed. That guy had zero skills aside from a crazy hit tool. It brought an unlikely guy to the majors.
  4. I should clarify, I will trust paddy ON WHETHER to get this guy.
  5. I will trust Paddy to get this guy, I just hoped they would be able to go after him if they liked him
  6. McCann did so nice be RHP last year, even though it isn’t at EEs level I think if he’s here you can go by pitcher and rest
  7. Just need it to be in next class (I’ll save the lecture on “maybe this is why you don’t trade away your intl money for cash just because there is nobody currently available”)
  8. As a fan, going to be pretty hard to have a strong opinion on who the best reliever to sign of what’s left will be. Harris makes me nervous in that regard, the workload/the age, who knows what next year brings with him. Cishek is my guess.
  9. I don’t even think it’s necessary. Just put him up opening day if they think he’s ready.
  10. Yeah. Is what it is right now. You have three years of exclusive negotiating. Let’s just celebrate what we have now, which is now all of our top acquired talent in the majors on opening day. If we have to pay Moncada “a lot”, so be it.
  11. This team is going to be full steam ahead on day one. Best home opener since ... 2011 probably
  12. The FA options are pretty terrible
  13. Robert is younger and was better at every level. He’s more athletic and has way more value in every way, and did not come up to mlb and look like he couldn’t catch up to fastballs.
  14. Sorry my milb contract candidate wasn’t good enough
  15. I think stammen is going to be the guy. There is no high K guy available so rather just go after a guy effective and VERY VERY good command. For K guys, I think we need to milb contract dive. My favs would be cingrani and Salazar. Very likely to be washed but worth a shot.
  16. Felt the same. Especially seeing a 10:40 showing. A little bit like boogie nights in that respect.
  17. Glad that oddity was cleared up. Fav bullpen milb candidates: Salazar and Cingrani
  18. Would rather Engel or pillar 1000x over than sign Domingo Santana or Pence. The offense addition isn’t good enough to warrant their DH only defense.
  19. I’d prefer our platoon for Mazara be able to play center.
  20. I have an idea that is probably not very good. I was thinking about Hudson and eovaldi this offseason...got me thinking about Taillon. The idea: trade for taillon with the idea of making him a bullpen swing man in 2021/2022. The pirates save the arb cost and uncertainty of his recovery and get a piece of low quality back. Sox get an interesting asset who could turn into a decent bullpen piece. I don’t think I would even do this but now that the offseason is basically over this is what I think about when I look at this and next years terrible reliever markets.
  21. Feels like double counting of Alonso is occurring
  22. Yeah they have the best pitching staff by FAR which goes a long way, but maybe we can hope for a good ole bullpen explosion
