Brewers right (are we talking about Brinson?), both PCL and Texas League (less certain) are supposed to be hitters leagues. But of course INTL has become the ultimate hitters league with the ML ball this year.

I also would not trade a boatload for a closer in the offseason. The thing about overpaying for chapman is it was at a point where the cubs were reasonably confident in him being a player to get them from playoff contender to putting chips in for that additional edge. He was performing at the time. But as a teambuilding offseason exercise, and paying for that additional control for a closer, that's a landmine.
  3. That's a really nice line for Bilous, he has started to turn it on. This year he's decreased his walks a wee bit while way increasing his Ks. Guy has gas I believe.

I am still shocked at the type of regression Diaz is experiencing, tbh. I don't even think you should get that caught up in the Cano aspect, it was largely Kelenic for Diaz and it was a massive failure on that front.
  5. I wonder if Guzman was shut down for year.
  6. No Bailey, wilber sanchez 2-5 with a very fine .281 avg / .780 OPS for year. 17 years old, should be a player to watch next year in AZL.
  7. I would just pay rendon and ask him to play 2b and spell 3b and when he's unplayable move him to DH
  8. So this is baseball america's top ten, really hard for me to argue against honestly. I think BA has really responded to their overvaluing of college pitching recently and has been much more interesting to me than others (specifically, fangraphs has really sunk in my eyes, as they have become much less transparent and more dickish than they used to). BA top ten 1. Wander Franco 2. Jo Adell 3. Luis Robert 4. Mackenzie Gore 5. Adley Rutschman 6. Bo Bichette 7. Casey Mize 8. Forrest Whitley 9. Yordan Alvarez 10. Gavin Lux
  9. I think Wander Franco will not be unseated so long as he is in the minors and with good reason, but Robert to me is a clear cut #2. But of the arguments, I'm okay with the tossup aspect of Luis Robert v. Jo Adell. Adell has been probably the closest competitor in performance, and has an age factor. That said, I think Robert has an edge in baserunning and defense, but I can't say for sure having not seen Adell, but it's been an important part of his game. Now BA has him 3rd currently, MLB Pipeline 5. Fangraphs has not moved him from 20s, but, like at some point you gotta move Royce Lewis down right?

Do we think we will see carranza at all this year?

and that was a double. Mendoza was actually one of our bigger 2018 signings in BA and he is killing the ball, but he's in year 2 of DSL so you never know what that means except maybe they thought AZL would be too crowded.

Acuna I believe was held back.
  16. I've been writing a blog with white sox fanfic called The Pale Hose for years but haven't gained much readership
  17. Cole walks in, a sexy werewolf in a buttondown silk shirt, and sits next to Hahn, a sexy vampire with a large hat. Suddenly, all eyes turned when Jim Thome, a sexy mix between Mr Incredible and Shrek, bursts forward and starts shaking cole in his arms like a baby rattle."

It's why I am so pleased with his BB rate increasing as he moves up. More likely he can refine his approach to increase his obp than pop based on his sample so far.
  19. Is Aaron Sanchez really that different than Wheeler? People way overvalue Wheeler and undervalue Wood.
  20. Anyone on twitter today probably sees the loads of content saved for today. I was studying in a library and watched the 7th inning onward thanks to some nice soxtalkers who shared mlbtv passwords.
  21. Yep, exactly.
  22. I think people overrate this, he would also protect his teammates. It's the same way the royals could be huge jerks about others celebrating while celebrating themselves. His most recent comment on it was "I get that people can do it, but I don't have to like it" and that's fine.
  23. yes, all of this is true. But also maybe we can sway him by giving him a hunting bow and an ATV.
  24. There's also an element of JR sucks but he is attracted to stars even if they are clearly crappy now and other players are better. The starf****** offseason would be Bumgarner, trade for Greinke, and then modest upgrades on offense. That provides two namey mcnamersons, only one long term, gives nice depth to rotation that allows kopech/rodon to ease in and let Cease/Drigo battle it out.
  25. You know, I think bumgarner actually is the prime guy to go after. He likely will not be your ace though you will pay him like it, but for a young team, getting this larger than life player to come in and lead their next step to contention makes a lot of sense to target. And he's lefty.
