  1. this was our guess too. I am really, really really really hoping this was just to get him warmed up. Wasting age 22 year and paying him half the slot to get him to sign this year and then stash him instead of just getting a bunch of other young talent when this guy appears to be a utility player really sucks.
  2. That was definitely the problem but I think I still would have done it.
  3. No, they had assets galore and kept waiting for AD. They obviously acquired Kyrie but could have been much more aggressive in adding multiple with all of the assets they have, now they got a bunch of guys.

Tatis sees his first action! Sanchez ... still there... and at DH! cool. He finally got on base and scored. Bailey has a hit.
  5. if they are really keeping him in DSL this year then its going to be a while for that guy.
  6. I'm assuming sox will keep him down, but there was chatter earlier that it was less of a consideration with him since they initially invested so much money so it would be better to get production on that contract. But that seems to have gone away and for good reason because it doesn't really hold much water as a rationale.
  7. Celts are an example of how refusing to sell out hurts. The knicks are not a good example, they literally traded away a star because they thought they'd ace FA. Only one team can win a championship, but the teams that now have two stars are a heck of a lot better shape to win one regardless of how many wins the indiana pacers will get next year.

not a fan of shortening trade deadline.
  9. Man where did I see a video of his catch in center last night where he makes up like 400 yards in a second? If anyone knows and can post it I will give you a very valuable purple and white trophy.

It will never not bother me how people categorized him pre-draft, even though I'm very happy we got Vaughn.
  11. Is this real?

Yes, offensively I don't know how rough the k'ing will make his first years, but certainly in the field and basepaths he will have eloy. After watching robles in that very entertaining series vs the nats I definitely started to yearn for robert to start taking over in center. I dont know he'll be as good as Robles but he's definitely as fast and we'll see him track down some balls.

mendick is always a funny follow because he's so streaky and its always when he starts to bottom out that he then will go on a tear that puts him in his comfort range of between .235 and .280
  16. How? guessing it will wait until 12/15?

  20. Well I don't get the one or the other I guess Law did but for me neither Kopech or Cease would be in my "top prospects" list.
  21. I feel like removing players when they hit the bigs (when they are clearly there to stay) is the correct way of doing it. Prospect means they ain't live yet.

Dang I keep forgetting this happened

Benyamin Bailey 0-5 no BBs. Yogurt Sanchez now 0-6. Whenever you see a good pitching line in DSL it's inevitable: Ronaldo Guzman 5IP 8ks 3BBs 2ER
  24. I think where you find the cynic in me is while that all sounds logical it is not at all the way the NBA offseasons have operated recently, and I worry that it will continue to be the way Paxson thinks it will operate. When 2021 rolls around, the bulls need to make sure they have room for 1 max while also making sure they can send any of their guys out to get whomever a star may want. Or, they don't even wait and just get a guy. If the bulls turn get into the 2nd round of the Eastern conference playoffs with this group, it's reasonable a star may say its a good spot. However, if they still seem raw, its clear stars aren't quite in on taking the chance on a group of young guys taking the next step with them. THey want some insurance. Paxson would need to either force them there through trade or find that star. Will Markannen be a star? I think he'll be very good but Id on't see it.
