  1. no idea, likely very low, 10-50k.
  2. that sucks. Especially since leal looks terrible so far.
  3. incredibly sad. Seems like baseball players more than other sports seems to have been dying off the field.
  4. The Baseball America article, as well as relative ( with heavy emphasis on relative!) success of recent classes by paddy, I'm going to give benefit of the doubt. We did not think anything much happened in 18, then had a really nice writeup of activity from Badler in his year in review. So when we get those in december, I will be anxious to see. This is not the process I'd like to see, but, I really want it to work out.
  5. That said, this may all be fools gold, so I don't think it's a big decision, but we have seen them promote to stateside more aggressively under getz.
  6. Yeah but it seems like Getz prefers sending them over earlier for that reason. They seem to believe in their new cultural programs and that may be a reason to get them in AZ earlier and start that process.
  7. I like that this crew seems to get up for big games. Bullpens haven't always held them recently, but felt like they've held up against starting pitchers offensively.
  8. whoa DSL was down 9-4 in the 5th and scored 9 runs in the last 4 to win 13-9. Bailey 3-5, 2b now slashing .397/.523/.493 (17 y.o.) Sanchez 2-5, 2b, BB now batting .295 with an .832 ops (17 y.o.) Bernal 1-5 HR
  9. If bulls could ditch dunn for second round picks and re-sign Arcidiacano and then use mid level on a jared dudley i would very much support it.
  10. They have moved guys over mid season before (coronado in 16, who has been terrible). I'd rather a guy be on the backfields in AZ than even DSL, tbh.
  11. I specifically wanted the bulls to get good veterans last year and was skeptical of Parker because they had so many dumb basketball IQ players that could stunt the development of Markannen and Carter (blakeney, parker and lavine together on a team was as bad as you'd expect). This year is a turn on that as I think players like Young and Sato will be very helpful in developing markanen, carter and white as we saw with Porter. It's also why I liked Otto Porter when he was acquired. But we didn't need Parker to acquire him, we signed parker a week or two into free agency. The reason Porter was available was because of money, we absorbed all of it while giving little back. We could have done that with whomever else we signed that late into the year. And I'm glad they've pivoted to signing high IQ, well rounded vets to support their young players in a rebuild. But you have talked about how we'll always be able to make the big acquisition splash two years down the line. Then it's two more years. And it's always acceptable they wait. The bulls will always wait because they don't want to play the games, and don't fight for players to come there, and instead give up immediately and say "oh well we'll just wait for the next guy" which is what happens when you have a job for life.
  12. Kawhi is so much better than 2011/12/13 Wade.
  13. This is crazy. The clips just made the playoffs, have resources galore, and didn't just sign three redundant power forwards to 80 million dollars. The tobias harris trade set them up to pounce at any point in next few years. They have the coach of a year, a great front office, and a bunch of smart assets any team would want, and space. But the clippers rebuilt themselves unbelievably fast after their rebuild and without any top picks. The nets did the same without any picks. You keep saying the bulls will be players with 2 maxes in a few years, but they will extend markannen next year, likely, and they have already hinted that they will not go over tax. They will not play the sequencing games everyone else played. And please do not say the bulls are doing the nets model. The nets seemingly turned every player into the best version of themselves, including Dangelo russel and spencer dinwiddie. Turning Joe Harris into Joe Harris. The bulls traded for cam payne and kris dunn. They guaranteed Antonio Blakeney for 2 years for some reason. They signed Jabari Parker and then forced him to sit on the bench and not look at anyone. Aside from their string of first rounders, there has not been a meaningful bench player created by the past few years. The bulls have assets but all ones that you'd hope would be in addition to a star. If you needed to trade for one, you'd have lavine ... carter...white...okay...so you have the star and markannen and who else? And it's okay, maybe White makes a leap, and lauri stays healthy and the team does get a big. But they aren't really in a great position to land a star and be loaded without trading the players you'd hope still surround them.
  14. Well that's why I'll focus on players like Ramos who is 17. They skipped DSL and are handling AZL well, that's a great sign. We'll see how the year ends up. But then Rodriguez has shown power at 17 in DSL and improved it in AZL at 18. Regardless if they end up as MLB roster pieces, producing at a young age makes them trade pieces, and when you compare them to the performances of guys in their AZL stints from the 2013/14/15 classes, they are doing WAY better.
  15. I like just adding good basketball players on reasonable deals rather than Jabari Parker. I do like that! What I don't like is throwing in the towel on one of the best free agent classes of the decade in February, when what we thought would happen in february has been completely turned on its head. While the knicks are lol because of trading a star at a crappy price in expectation of signing two and striking out, at least they expected to be players. John Paxson has aspirations of being the indiana pacers. I hate the lakers, but I liked how they just said "fuck it we're the lakers just get us stars". Nets/Clips both committed to player development, wise ownership, and then flexed that they were the place to be. But we have spirit, yes we do, we have spirit. Anyway I'd go all in on decent vets, lean in on player dev, look at Jared Dudley for the exception. Or Nwaba.
  16. Please please don't let Kawhi sign with the lakers. This is shaping up to be one of the most interesting nba seasons ever, the lakers don't deserve to fall ass backwards into a championship.
  17. Tanking is over. Kudos to Silver. Also thank the Nets and clips, who showed the benefits re-setting while still trying to employ good basketball players and figure it out. SGA is going to be a much better basketball player because he played competitive games his first year. I feel like Lavine is more stunted than usual because of the teams he's played on, same with PHX guys. Thad and Satoransky and Porter will add competitiveness.
  18. it not being in their cards is 100% their own fault. I really like satoransky and I like Young, but that's when you've already given up on idea the bulls can truly transform themselves into a contender. We have had flexibility for years, but they never cash in the chips. Even their foray with melo they tried to get him by offering him half the cash because they didn't want to give up Gibson in a sign and trade. The bulls think they can play a different game than everyone else.
  19. I am intrigued that Paddy may have found legit shots at pieces in JOse Rodriguez, and then Ramos and Diaz now. The 2017/18 classes I assumed were written off, these guys were older, mid period signings (less so Diaz I believe). If we actually got production from those years that shows tremendous progress.
  20. I don’t think they do. Satoransky plays multiple positions. You can create multiple lineups for Dunn, including Dunn/white. But if they can trade Dunn do it.
  21. (I really love the move they just made for satoransky)
  22. If yesterday’s moves of the league don’t make you completely fed up with the unimaginative vision of garpax I don’t know what will.
