I'm hoping that skole is just for this weekend since he can play a position, then yermin is called up when we get the dh back.

I'd be interested to see the vids from his first half last year in birmingham. There was a time when they were trying to smooth out his hitch and he ditched it because it was affecting his production/felt unnatural and he went back to his college swing and was raking for a bit. I wonder if this is back to that swing or a modified version of it he's bought into.

    Better yet, promoted!
  4. Yeah I think Walker is most likely to make majors for a decent career, Adolfo best to make it as a starter. Decent career means longevity not necessarily starter. Adolfo > Basabe > Walker > Gonzalez > Rutherford

yeah I'm glad they tried it immediately and it wasn't during a meaningless september.
  6. this has been quite the slog, almost like day games so I can only follow on gameday

so jenderrson caraballo, a 2016 signee that had a decent first year then disappeared, started today in DSL with a performance. He never k'd many, but didn't allow a lot of hits and had a good era. No idea if he had TJS or what. Probably not that interesting anymore
  8. plus I believe they are in good spot for playoffs.
  9. They weren't wrong on Aiken, they drafted him, and he had an incredibly poor medical. You can't really predict that.

Rodriguez definitely a streaky player but his bad streaks are never that terrible.

Lency Delgado again 2-4 with a double. Really starting to turn it on.
  12. There was a big typo there where I meant to write 2015 dodgers, when Greinke was there. I do think Dodgers are likely closer now but still think their main advantage is being one of the best evaluators.

I can’t believe Robert is real
  14. The 2019 astros are much more advanced than the 2019 dodgers and so were the 2015 Astros.
  15. He can be intelligent but may not have the measurements and tools the astros have in PD.
  16. Pitcher contracts for these established veterans are so tradeable. Even when they appeared fading, like Verlander, they got a decent set of pieces back. When they are great, like Greinke, they can still get a nice return. they got four years of good Greinke then traded the rest for prospects at a reasonable cost. Sox shouldn’t be so timid on pitching contracts.
  17. And what kills me is if the sox were a top ten team in international from 2007-2013, this decade is completely different. But they were a bottom 2 team. The international classes of the last 4 years could be the fuel that keeps the rebuilded team going with trades and more. Instead they are fine riding a razor thin margin.
  18. It's hard to tell. 2.5 mill for Yolbert .5 for Tatis 1 mill traded 4 million known $5.4 million is the cap 4 additional players were signed. Some were decent, so you assume some could be around 300k or more. Or they could have all been less and we still have 500k or more.
  19. All that will happen is HAhn will turn the question into a defense of Paddy, as he has been asked many years in a row "are you finally going to spend in INTL this year?" Thank God we got Robert, because that 2016 class was going to be under budget, and they had basically had no one lined up in 2017, and would have been one of the few teams that did not take advantage of the former CBA, despite Hahn upon assuming GM saying the farm needed to get better. Jerry sees 16 year old kids as a crap shoot, because they are, despite analysis showing its one of the best investments you can make. Despite their woeful FA record, signing quantities of 5-10 million free agents he does not see as a crapshoot, because he is Jerry Reinsdorf.
  20. CLEVELAND signed 23 players on J2, including #16 overall. The White Sox signed 6, now shipped out the remaining, and their prized signing is being out hit by a player 5 years younger and his same last name on the DSL. edit: sorry, initially said DET
  21. I mean, we couldn't do this because for some reason we are not in or cannot get in on the top intl pipeline talent, not since adolfo 6 years ago. And again, they say this is because they prefer quantity, but they never sign large classes, 2016 was the biggest with 20 guys.

Also worth noting that with 2 more hits today Wilbert is the best sanchez on DSL.
  23. bmags replied to Jose Abreu's topic in FutureSox Board
    Finished with 4 IP, 6ks, 2 BBs, 4 hits.
  24. Why does it go to waste? They can still use it. They signed some of their most promising players after July 2 years ago, and things like Cuban players come available mid period (like just happened).
