It's crazy how much he has lifted my expectations. I think I would have zeroed in on 28% k rate as the place to be this year, but I remember just wanting him to move his productivity on 0-2 counts as a RH to bad level from awful. Now he is even a good RH htter! Development is a real thing I guess, and the fact that nothing can replicate getting more reps against major league left handers except facing it as much as you can.
  2. The problem is I'm not sure players like playing with Westbrook, as he has had two MVPs leave his side and now Paul George force his trade out. And he was really quite bad last year.
  3. Just judging from Lowe and others, they believe OKC may even need to include a pick to get rid of westbrook. I am really wary of Westbrook for reasons Chisoxfn stated. While 9/10 I am in favor of them being aggressive for a star, he is that 10th.
  4. No, Robles is firmly installed as a major piece of Washington's current run for the playoffs and future. How Houston has treated Tucker is interesting and makes it seem like they would deal him, but they are Houston. I don't see them dealing him for anything other than an elite piece their player scouting loves.
  5. I think the pedestrian returns from Milwaukee, and that milwaukee has been so good at sending out trash in trades makes me look at them skeptically. I love turang. He'd be a great flip piece...I don't see them trading Turang for Colome. I don't personally believe in Dubon. He suddenly had this huge spike in production in the PCL and then with the juiced ball, and even then it's not that impressive. He's a weird one for you. Would you buy low on Travis Shaw?
  6. Also considering how production based BP is I find it odd they are sandbagging on McKay.
  7. Weird...did I hallucinate that Mize was getting TJS? I had no idea that he just had shoulder inflammation and was rehabbing per that BP article.
  8. Same, and I don't know where the sellers market thing came from, sounds like it will be pretty tepid. I think my one hope is that the mets are on tilt and do something dumb. Either sox should look into Diaz as a buy low guy (which would be the worst management by the mets) or see if they buy high on colome for some reason?
  9. It is promising, but until I know something changed I'll be pretty skeptical for a while.
  10. Burdi has not been good as he has recovered from TJ. He is nearly 2 years removed, and has a 6.5 ERA in AA. Where he used to have an absolutely insane k%, it's now fairly ordinary. Add to that his command is more wild than it used to be and...well tough to trust that for a contending teams closer.
  11. Man trae young being so bad in Summer League last year to being so good in the season has certainly made it less interesting to follow White a bit hah.
  12. They docked Jimenez because they said they viewed him as almost certainly to be a DH and his ongoing injuries with his body type. They docked madrigal after an inperson and a belief his power wouldn't play up as much as they hoped. I'm guessing the others was all injury based. Burdi basically lost his slider since TJS, which was the pitch that caused them to rank him so highly in the first place I believe.
  13. Right, while nearly all posters can blend the many factors that go into our opinions on what the team should do to be a consistent contender moving forward (age, control, position, productivity, future outlook, etc), greg can only handle one, so he assume all of us are only focused on a single input as well. And despite pointing this out, he will not be able to grow or change, because this has been pointed out to him roughly 1000x to him during the last 10 years at least and nothing.
  14. Yeah I don't think mine has changed much, this looks right though I think deep down I still believe in adolfo more than walker or Rutherford, but it's a matter of figuring out how to apply the risk of him. But I think I'd have Dalquist above sheets still. I'm really happy he has found some success but I just don't know what to make of a 1b prospect that is still just kinda average offensively. He should be a pretty decent trade piece for MR or rotation depth.
  15. my only philosophy on baseball (as a young person) is that old players like colome are useless (as are saves, since I am a statnik) and should be force retired. If that's not possible, flipping them is an okay consolation prize. White sox should seek to ensure their roster is as young player as possible, as the old players may rub off on them and turn them old.
  16. Listen watching the futures game and just asking every at bat why the Sox didn’t draft that player is boring and nobody cares.
  17. Yeah they treated this game as they would a celebrity softball game on All Star week

Comas was 3-5 with a 3b and a 2b and 5 RBI. He started a little slowly but had two monster games recently. Increasing his power output too.
  19. Eloy! Nova! Jose! 4-letter names!

The biggest reason I didn’t care to follow him was Sox showed so little confidence in him. But now that he’s in AAA it’s the last real year they can try out these guys.
  21. Feels like Eloy has 40 homers in the last month honestly
  22. I feel like that is mostly going to be an offseason activity though anyway. I’m excited to see Madrigal up but I don’t know if there is a bad decision they can make. I don’t think keeping him in Bham is bad, I don’t think promoting him is bad. They have more data than us so I’ll leave them to it and hope they get it right.
  23. I think there was a fegan article saying they should get a few innings in AZL.
  24. That’s awesome. Krogman sounds like he has an arm on him too.
