  1. Really surprised at how bad he has played. That guy has maybe the best receiver tandem in the league. He has a pretty good TE. He has a pretty good RB set though cook always hurt. That offense has way underachieved.
  2. Brutal from Marc Stein: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/10/sports/chicago-bulls-jim-boylen.html
  3. Cashman saying they have limited money to spend while in same sentence confirming they are after Manny is hilarious.
  4. Kapler...you are at work dude change your clothes.
  5. Even though he made many short-term-at-cost-of-long-term-until-there-was-nothing-left decisions, the one thing I absolutely loved about Kenny Williams is he always has made it look like being an mlb gm/president is exactly as fun as it probably is. "Like HELL YEAH I'm on the phone trying to get Ken Griffey Jr!" "He sucks now" "Yeah but I'm on a phone acquiring KEN GRIFFEY JR" "Yeah that's pretty cool alright yeah"
  6. This is correct. He can't help himself though, he loves this role.
  7. This may mean though that Reggie McKenzie is definitely about to take another team to the playoffs.
  8. After a few years of draft and stash, I'm on board this train: Get someone you think is a big league piece.
  9. Boylen comes off horribly in these interviews. Like that guy in the Princess Bride trying to pick the right poison cup. "You see, I knew that if I told you practice was tomorrow was a running practice, you would think it was a running practice and be mad and so you see it was a test in trust because it wasn't ACTUALLY a running practice so I lied to you so that you would begin to trust me, see!"
  10. The interesting thing to me is with how much money college coaches are getting, who could you lure away to just be an OC? Dana Holgerson would be interesting, but...could you afford matching his price as OC?
  11. Yeah Tony mentioned him. To be honest, I would be shocked if by next year Lincoln Riley isn't the highest paid football coach in football, college or pro. Obviously on a yearly basis, nobody is doing a Gruden. edit: meaning even if he stays in college.
  12. I would bet in the industry Nova is valued way higher than you'd expect. He would be an excellent trade piece to use for the many teams selling like AZ/Sea too.
  13. I think someone finally grabs Carmichael too. Another round of McDaniels (probably with Jets going after him). Maybe pluck from Kyle Shanahan, embree? College wise I wonder who else could go.
  14. Well, I think for anyone at that level they may have a nagging "well what would it have been like". He knows even if he fails he will be a DC in a similar circumstance (see Phillips, Lebeau)
  15. I think bigger issue for Fangio now may not be his age but how teams are going to be targeting offensive coaches. Fangio may come in and bring in a good OC, but these defensive coaches seem so vulnerable to losing staff. But then again, good coaches put in good systems and promote good talent. He would be good as a veteran team coach, but, he would be bad in a situation like cards this year.
  16. there are frankly a lot of astros packages I would take, I really like Josh James profile. Josh James plus soxtalk favorite Garrett Stubbs! Or go big on assets and go after Nova, use him as a trade piece if sox get short-term better.
  17. I talk crap about Heyman a lot. His greatest asset (daily roundups) are also his biggest fault because I think it only gives him enough time for surface level insight. But this was him going out to answer a question (who are the mystery teams) and I really appreciate that.
  18. Despite knowing that he actually is not much better than Engel...I still kinda was fascinated by idea of signing Hamilton.
  19. Hey, this is a really good Heyman tweet. Good job Jon!
  20. Right it would be great. It keeps options open, keeps payroll low outside of our Harper Signing****.
  21. If sox do get nice offer for Jose Abreu I would like them to pursue getting Jose Martinez.
  22. ? I mean, we have all seen the rams this year. Their qb play is good. Is the takeaway really the Goff played bad and not that the bears defense is good after a game like that? Their offense averages like 35 points! It's week 14! This isn't a blip.
  23. It's incredible but also a testament to the pass rush. Turns out the strength of this secondary is their intelligence and study. They are diagnosing plays early and able to jump the routes because the ball is coming (has to come) after first read. Last year they'd have to cover and they are less of a downfield jump ball unit.
