  1. The thing is, it's not just "a man" that did it. It is really hard to believe that Kavanaugh himself, or his nominating committee, were unaware of what that guy was proposing. He absolutely thought that would catch fire and it did, just in the wrong direction. Whelan had been advising the confirmation effort, and is clearly an insider in DC circles. I think they just created another can of worms over "did you know and approve of libeling a former classmate to help get yourself confirmed?" This guys judgment is garbage.
  2. Yeah I read that yesterday. It really sticks with you. It really scares me to think about if those rumors were happening in my school, would I get caught in the retaliatory acts ("faith") against her? And I think Bruenig does capture that feeling which I think is especially toxic in high school, being so scared of being weak or victimized that you by default villainize the vulnerable. Really rough read.
  3. Baseball gets fun eventually right?
  4. Also Palka seems a little insane and you need at least one of those guys.

They are better, but they also when they are an outlier should be treated skeptically. This is clearly an outlier.
  6. Yeah just an awful year from him.
  7. Yeah this isn't exactly a high-stakes opinion. Between Davidson, Delmonico and Palka, our trio of all bat yet strangely low obp plus power no defense all stars, palka clearly deserves the biggest shot next year.

  9. Dude is so much drama. He made me actually like Rondo.
  10. Sometimes I forget this happened and feel happy then i remember and feel sad. But, I also thought of this bad joke: Folks, let's hope this guy ReAttrache'd that tendon correctly, whois with me.
  11. Agree, his september gives him an edge to DH. I think he does hit higher OBP, and slugging you think would go down but he hits the absolute snot out of the ball. I swear to god that guy changes weather patterns when he plays.
  12. Man looking at Rex and Cade's college stats, some huge red flags. Even though Cade's completion % (which is way overinflated in college now) had a high YPA, Rex's cratered junior year. Ugh.
  13. Its funny because in June I was feeling really good. Kopech was the worry, but Basabe was raking and had re-emerged as a prospect, Adolfo had shown 2017 wasn't a fluke ,Collins was hot, seby was moved to AAA, all of kanny and W-S was on fire. And then injuries and fatigue just ravaged the system. And as we have seen with Hansen, injuries can't always just be written off as a delay. They can really be impactful.
  14. Rex was definitely closer to 6'0 than 6'1, maybe not 5'10 though
  15. The one truly amazing thing about the bears is how they've been so bad for most of my life but never bad enough. That's what makes trubisky so important, they were really bad and in opportunity to get the #1 qb in what has turned out to be a good qb class. He has to be a longterm solution. Absolutely has to. But when they've been top 5. ugh. Curtis Enis, Trade down for michael haynes and grossman, cedric benson. Their "trade down for the lowest rated qb in the first round" strategy ... ugh.
  16. What do we think about this antonio brown situation and they won't trade him to the patriots right?
  17. Yes, and it should be interesting but all the discussion only seems to be whether it validates their preconceived notions and if not its discredited. I can't watch most of these guys so it's helpful to know that, hey, tough year, but people still group a bunch of our prospects in top 150. What makes most a fan of the fangraphs writers is their personality and they are open via weekly chats about why they are seeing things the way they are. It doesn't mean you need to agree. Like I'm pretty sure at this point Luis Gonzalez is underrated, but he's also not pushed very hard, so I see why he is not getting much hype.
  18. That TD drive in the second half was really beautiful. Had a shaky QB and no run game, and he totally playcalled their way into a touchdown and also held the clock.
  19. Khalil Mack is so good, and we just wrapped up the games vs two of the best mobile qbs in game. Lol Bradford or Glennon next week yes please
  20. This officiating crew is really bad at spots!
  21. I really liked that drive, especially the creativity and balance with runs. Eventually they had to respect sweeps and it opened up off tackle. Most importantly: it settled Mitch. everyone wants him to succeed, he’s got to channel it right.
  22. Why oh why do football announcers have to idolize players coming off of criminal charges as an underdog story?
  23. This is what happens when you can’t show you can complete a pass 15 yards deep
  24. Should add that Goldman has felt like he’s made more impact interior wise than hicks today (which is good!)
