  1. Thanks. I would not be surprised then if Hamilton does not come up even though he would deserve it.
  2. So I have thoughts on this but will try to be short: - our small class this year I think is an example of our limitations STILL in latam market. Those guys (300k and below) can go anywhere and so relationships matter, we still are rebuilding so many relationships and creating new ones. When money isn’t a factor it makes it hard. Compare that with Preller who has lived in LatAm for years. - because of that limitation, Sox probably rightfully have instead opted for using the money toward trades for spects. So it’s a good news/bad news thing for me. Sox are pursuing probably their best strategy available but I think it’s still an example of how the org is trying to dig itself out of the wilder crater.
  3. Is Hamilton/burr rule 5 eligible this nov? I wonder if Sox just keep them off 40 through year to keep space for all these RP prospects we have.
  4. Between the light 2018 signing class and teams like orioles suddenly spending on latam, suddenly felt like the market for our spending allowance got better.
  5. Yeah this guy should be in majors this year. It’s not like we won’t have a difficult rule 5 decision too. If he looks bad, easier to pass him through, if he looks great, protect him.

I swear that every Friday night sox minor league numbers are on fire, and then saturdays they go ice cold.
  7. Perhaps we can combine it with Intl free agent space to improve return.
  8. They’ve had giveaways that seemed as good or better before. I think this was one of those games where the city collectively realizes that summer is almost over and decides to catch a game
  9. What an awesome crowd again.
  10. I think constantly reevaluating your scouting is a good thing.
  11. You are missing quite a bit of action that happened on the 2016-17 offseason, where they went from 2nd highest in Ks to lowest when you are looking at just today’s teams lens. they also signed Beltran to platoon with Gattis, they signed reddick to replace Carlos Gomez, then McCann to Castro move. Those all replaced players with decent to good production but with high Ks to move toward players that were expected to provide decent to good production but with less ks. in some cases it didn’t work out (Beltran), but where they could replace their high k players with similar value they did.
  12. You get the best talent you can get. High k players aren’t necessarily bad, they can still be very valuable. Top offenses appear to be veering away from lineups dominated by high k players. But obviously, extraordinary power could still overcome that weakness (see NYY). But, regardless, there was a noticeable trend from the Sox front office in ‘17 onward toward players with much better k:bb rates. The 17 class was basically a bunch of college hitters with low ks, good BB rates, and moderate to plus power (though also a very unathletic class)
  13. I think it’s interesting that both the Astros and now the brewers found initial success with high k, high power lineups, then evolved to greater offense as they looked to replace the higher k players out of their lineup, even if those players were fine obp-wise. “Ks are just another out” is clearly becoming outdated with smart franchises. As our future team comes into play and we look to trade out assets for upgrades, it feels like our low-k prospects would be the ones to bank on staying, the high k guys such as Collins could be the ones used to get us upgrades.
  14. Well, if orioles sign them it probably fortifies the white Sox market for trading cap space for players this year.

So danish looked pretty wicked at the game, veiera looked awful
  16. DST tries, merk tries, if there was no fegan...yikes. I'll add garfein though, garfein and fegan are a nice 1-2 punch of access (garfein) and analysis (fegan)
  17. I accidentally reacted to this post so now I need to comment. There are some sentiments I would agree with but larry is so obnoxious and sss has declined so miserably I just am annoyed having read it.
  18. I still think there will be a big regression to the mean next year. This team, while not good, was not as bad as it played. The worst in ks/worst in walks stuff, I just think we'll have a nice snap back next year.
  19. I don't think our first year being competitive will be 2021, I think we will be competitive during the 3 year window he is with us, and he will be a part of that. One way to ensure we are not competitive during the next three years is to trade rodon.
  20. If we aren't competitive in 2021 then in no way should this management team be in charge of trading one of our top assets again.
  21. I just can't see the package available that I'd trade rodon for. And I don't want to trade him. Has the past year really made people feel comfortable that the talent of our pitchers will translate into production? I don't want to be a 50 win team for 3 straight years. Rodon is young, he fits the window. Who cares if he only produces for us in one of the competitive years? Not me, a competitive year sounds great!
  22. Total meh for me, I don't put a lot of weight into body projections.
  23. it annoys me that Sosa isn't in backend top 30 and annoys me he's never mentioned anywhere because it probably means I'm overemphasizing his production. But, full season ball will tell all.
