Sorry buddy, we’re going to need you to hit.

GT: Sox @ Guardians Game 2: Lambert vs. McKenzie
Does TLR think AV is Leury and Leury is AV? The way he handles those two guys is beyond mind boggling.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
The Astros were the better team for sure but the Sox were sooooo much better at home that things possibly could have possibly been different. Look, you saying that HFA doesn't matter and just bringing up the top seeds last year just isn't fair. The Giants were virtually the same team at home and away and the Rays were just a tad better at home. The Sox were 13 games better at home last year compared to the road, that type of stuff clearly mattered to that team. Will it matter this year? I obviously don't know but it certainly could.

The Sox were much better at home last year(and I'm sure that'll be the case this year too) and with the top 2 teams having a bye this year that stuff matters a lot this season.

GT 4/16: Rays at Sox, 1:10 CT
3 quick, clean innings in a row for Kopech. Nice to see him settle in after not having the best control through the first 2.

Honestly, I like Leury. I like him as a utility guy. He does get streaky where you can use him a decent amount in stretches as well. The hate comes from the fact he isn’t close to an every day starter and gets used like one. It’s not his fault how TLR uses him but it’s frustrating as fuck.

A's interested in Andrew Vaughn/Sox in Montas
He doesn't get the hype because he's no where near the prospect that Vaughn is. I like Gavin but if he's a main piece in a trade for a good starting pitcher I'm all about it.

“Aside from the small sample from several of these players…” There ya go, didn’t have to carry on after that.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
The team isn’t a disaster because of the great core in place but this off-season has absolutely been a disaster, it’s pretty easy to separate the two.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Oh I completely agree that’s why I said if you look at the signing just by itself. If I knew he was going to be a part of only adding relievers and utility guys then ya it changes the story on all of this which is obviously happening right now.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Pretty much. I don’t hate the Graveman signing when looking at it just on its own but wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s bad this season. We’ll see.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Don’t disagree with you on their mindset but the division thing is a terrible way to look at things this year(it always is but especially this year) with the way the playoffs are set up. Getting a top 2 seed is too important to be like meh we’ll upgrade at the deadline cause our division sucks and we’ll probably get in anyways.

Kris Bryant to the Rockies - 7/$182
Same as the Sox ha

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Honestly, this window is like 3 years right now, if the 4th year of that contract sucked so be it. I know that’s not how the Sox are looking at things and I know we want to have a sustained run but this is where we’re at right now imo.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
I have no idea but that sounds extremely painful.

Goodness this is gross.

Been there. Alas, it didn’t work.

And I could not disagree with this more. He’d just destroy the IL and facing inferior pitching is going to do nothing for his development.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Completely agree with all this.

Offensively, the Sox are better in RF than either of the last two years
Not to mention we’re already throwing Eloy out there in left. If we had a gg lf to go along with Robert then maybe we can try some goofy defensive experiment in right field, maybe. As far as the op, ya no shit Gavin Sheets and Andrew Vaughn are better offensive players than Adam Eaton and Nomar Mazara. It’s always good when trying to win the WS to compare your right fielders to 2 of the worst out there. Perfect sense.

You still confident that Kimbrel is getting dealt or where is your head at there?

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Exactly. Man, the more I think about it the more it's starting to irk me that they didn't look at Miller if they were going to go this bargain route. He's hit righties so freaking well for a while now and plays a solid 2b. Very annoying.
