  1. QUOTE(easyw @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) But I think most Sox fans are like me - we simply won't pay our own hard earned cash to get into the park. There is nothing I'd rather spend my money on more then the Sox.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) I don't want any of them. If the Sox are going after Frank for a full time DH or Piazza as a full time DH, the club is going to be in trouble. I'm sorry, nothing Frank has done the past few years have given me any reason to think he'll come back from this injury and play 130 games. That's fair and I agree, as much as I love Frank I'd much rather bring in a dh that we can count on, however if we're taking a chance on someone give me Frank over Mike.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) I'm totally with you on this thing bigger idea. That said, everyone wishing that Thomas will stay healthy and put up great numbers should realize Piazza is a more sure thing to stay healthy and at least put up average DH numbers. I'm not saying it would be a good move. That said, it wouldn't be a horrid move if no other options panned out. That said, if they lost Konerko and than signed Piazza as a DH, moved Dye to 1st and started Anderson everyday I'd be one pissed off fan. I'd rather take a chance on Frank compared to Piazza, Mike hasn't swung the bat well for a while now, Frank proved in 04 he could still hit. Obviously the whole staying healthy part is going to be Franks main concern but I think if we can get him healthy, he can still swing that bat.
  4. QUOTE($I Need Money$ @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) sosa is a free agent? lol what if the white sox signed him? You don't have to worry about that.
  5. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) Perry Saturn? Bald head, lazy eye? That guy was a total cock. Is he still wrestling?? Good ol' WCW.
  6. QUOTE(rangercal @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) no I'd rather have Carl over Mike...no question.
  7. QUOTE(Reddy @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) cept Piazza can DH and Widge - no way he is an everyday DH... Piazza can't hit anymore either, he's just not a good player at this stage of his career.
  8. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) eddie guerrero abused drugs and alcohol and while he and everyone else in the wrestling world uses steroids, they are not the reason he died. rip eddie. And you know this how?? I would be willing to bet that steroids played a big part in this, he was a small cruiserweight in wcw and the guy bulked up like crazy in the wwf. RIP Eddie.
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 03:35 AM) It's all unproven speculation. I'd like to see Rowand to NYY for Wang. Then, send Contreras, Marte and El Duque to Florida for Delgado and cash. Anderson can play cf and Delgado can be the DH or 1b depending on the Konerko situation. Buy low, sell high. Rowand and Contreras are peaking in the eyes of many right now. Now is the time to make a move. No way in hell I want to trade Jose, I know you seem to believe his value won't get any higher and that may be true but imo he'll be our best pitcher next year and it would not be smart to get rid of him.
  10. Doing my best qwerty impression: They're FREE throws.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) Stevenson got OWNED! :headshake Of course you'd be the first one to post this.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Is Kirilenko injured? He's only played 10 mins. Oh and I guess Willie's at the game tonight. He hasn't been online in a while, Bulls might have pissed him off to the tune of a heart attack or something.
  13. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) No wonder he said he gets a better read of the ball in CF? Rowand plays a deep center , so he gest to allot of balls in the gap... but he was one if not the worst CF's trying to get those gimme loopers in short CF. That drove Ozzie Crazy all year long, he even reinstated that in the playoffs when Rowand was plying to deep and let potetially tying and winning runs on during each playoff series. The bottom line is that Abreu gives us much more than Rowand will ever give us. If it takes for Rowand to go to get Abreu.. like DJ says it best.. Bye , bye... cya Rowand... give me Abreu any day over Rowand. Well duh but that's not the point. If you want to move Pods into center though then I'd rather keep aaron over bobby cause Pods would cost us a ton of runs there, but if Abreu were traded here for Rowand and others then Anderson is going to be in center.
  14. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) You can go back to last season and dig out the same articles from a year ago that said the Sox payroll was going to be I know what's being reported in the paper, but I've also followed this organization too closely, for too long, to take everything that's printed in those papers at face value without filtering them through my own patented Bulls*** Detector© and drawing my own conclusions. Bingo.
  15. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) First game I actually get to watch. yaya ^^^
  16. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) Yes he can. No, he sucks in center.
  17. QUOTE(easyw @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) you heard it here first: Ohio University! Top 25! Spoiler in the Big Dance! Meh..a lot of people are saying that.
  18. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) Looking into my crystal ball I see Furcal signing with the A's. Once the reality of his value sets in with him & his agent I think the A's will look like a nice fit for him. Bobby Crosby says hi.
  19. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 10:38 PM) Ben Allen is not only awesome at basketball, he's ridiculous at Tiger Woods. Ben Allen: Austrailian for basketball. SPOILED
  20. QUOTE(VAfan @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Why all the love for Abreu? He's a very good ballplayer, but he's way overpriced. Lets see, he's a 25 homer/100 rbi/.400 obp/30 steal guy, he's that left handed bat all of us have wanted for a while and he plays a solid right field. He would be such a perfect 3 hitter....I would absolutely love to have Bobby on this team.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) Also if you are going to have Pierre in the lineup, he should be leading off, he's a better leadoff hitter than Podsednik. Last year Pods>>>>Pierre.
  22. Yay, at 4:45, I'm the only member currently on soxtalk.
  23. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) I don't see Kenny doing it simply because his defense in CF would be a downgrade from Rowand's and we still would need a 1B with a big bat if this were to happen(assuming PK is traded). Anderson in center, Abreu in right, Dye at dh...tada. That being said no way Phili would do Abreu for Rowand but damn Bobby would fit in on this team on so many fronts, and there is that extra speed ozzie also wants.
