  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you. What happens if they fool you 5 times? Ha, you're right, his effort tonight was pitiful, I'm just saying he's so lost at the plate that he just doesn't know what's going on, I think he's just trying to make contact and ya...we saw the results tonight, not good.
  2. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) All I will say is this. The one common trend all season has been that this team is not that good on paper, they are some how finding ways to win. For most of the season, and I beleive still now somehow, we have the best record in the AL, if not 2nd best in the MLB. That would mean there are 28 other managers that would love to have the record we have. My question is, why did I hear no love on this about how great Ozzie was in the 1st half? It was all about how we were making things happen, and this is amazing. Now when we lose, its not the players to blame, its Ozzie. If were going to blame Ozzie, should it not go both ways? Good point tony. Our pitching on paper is damn good and to tell you the truth our offense ain't bad on paper either. Here's the problem, offensively almost every single hitter we have is streaky as all hell so when they're bad they are real bad and vice versa. Guys like Juan, Joe, Dye, Everett all can carry our offense for short periods of time and then just suck for long stretches. Most of us knew that ozzie was a horrendous in game manager but some including myself thought they way he handles the team and motivates these guys outweighed the negatives with him, I'm not so sure about that anymore.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) That's been pretty much beaten to death. Everyone knows he should be fired the day after the season ends. He's just not getting through to his players. The game plan, according to Ozzie tonight, was to go the opposite way on Robertson. Maybe Rowand should pay more attention? I wouldn't doubt if aaron was trying to go that way tonight, he's so off right now that he's just lost in the batters box.
  4. Where the hell was Timo in the 8th....and no I'm not joking.
  5. 1st strike-50 games 2nd stirke- season 3rd strike- You're gone
  6. I think it's pretty obvious the Dolphins are winning the superbowl this year.
  7. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) Pods, LF Tad, 2B AJ, C PK, 1B Dye, RF Everett, DH Rowand, CF Crede, 3B Uribe, SS Garland, RHP Ozzie: Rowand is the best #3 hitter we have right now. Oh, well. I'd agree but I'm fine with this lineup, Rowand better be batting 3rd though against left handers.
  8. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) Just another result of a public education system that divorces love & commitment to marriage from sex. Why are some of you surprised? The public schools teach sex education & distribute condoms like they were training kids to be porno stars. This occurs at ages USSC justice Ginsberg approves of (12+). Had this woman been endoctrinated with the belief that sex & marriage are indivisible it's unlikely she would have been crazy enough to do this. You are strange.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) :fyou Fox. I like the idea of it being on WGN much more. ^ God damn it, this sucks.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) Not to me. You always, always play to win. There is no switch that you can just turn on and off that says we'll play good today and than bad for a couple days and than go right back to playing good once the playoff starts. If we clinch, than you rest some guys and go easy on your starters, etc, trying to set things up, but you in no way lay down for any team. Play to win, dont' even worry about matchups...if your good enough to win it all your good enough to beat anyone. Exactly, rest some starters, set up the playoff rotation but in no way do you blow those games, try and win every single one.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) Yankees. We suck out west, and dont play well against the bosox. I feel like the yankees have the weakest starting pitching. Although they have been extremely hot. We are 2 and 2 out in Anaheim this year. Like I've said I could care less who we play if we get in.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) I know where I stand, the Sox still have to take care of business and until they do, I'll be rooting for White Sox wins. Cleveland, Boston, and the Yanks losing will be icing on the cake every day. Yup until we wrap atleast the wildcard I'll be cheering for Yankee and Bosox losses and until we wrap up the division I'll be cheering for Indian losses. If we wrap up the division then I just start cheering for bosox losses.
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:48 AM) Mr. Everett thinks he should be batting third. Yes, well this might be Carl's craziest belief yet.
  14. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 11:31 PM) boo 3-0 > 2-0 2-1>1-2 Dolphins>Bills
  15. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) It's the f***in baby...I do not care what you say. I believe I took Rally Crede out of my sig after we lost the Santana game, and put baby back in. BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE ever since. EDIT: this is all in good fun though. You say tomatoes, I say BABY. Since I put the rally crede in my avatar we're 2 and 0.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) On the other hand...if we play Anaheim...I can get tickets...and get a Rally Crede into the Big A...hmmm.... Oh man, you better do that if we get in and play the angels.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) yup, i went back and corrected myself a few posts up My bad, I missed that.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) It will be interesting to see JRs reasoning for not adding payroll this year, let's hope he does!!! He's added payroll the past few offseasons as attendance has gone up, he will again this year, I guarantee it.
  19. Bring 'em all on. To be honest I really don't care what team we face, lets just get in and take it from there.
  20. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) This is the part that was making my wife crazy. She unfortunately had to listen to me going around in circles: "I don't know how it can be a choke if the Sox still have the best record in the AL.....But they've lost 10 of their last 14 ( before the Twins series )...... But it wouldn't matter if Cleveland wasn't playing out of their minds.....I just don't want it to come down to next weekend in Cleveland......But in a weird way, I kinda DO want them to take the division title in Cleveland, to prove a point to them.....but that f***ing HAFNER......" and so on. The woman is a SAINT to put up with me..... What about all of us here who have to put up with you.
  21. I honestly don't remember.
  22. QUOTE(HeGone! @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) Why not? The Sox play the worst team this month and one of the worst this year. Be optimistic. The Sox sweep the Tigers and the Indians lose one to the D-Rays and all is right with the world. (For Sox fans at least) He meant at the end of this week, not the week upcoming.
  23. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) His .734 OPS ranks higher than only Podsednik and Uribe. And tied with Pierzynski. I'm sorry, but your designated hitter -- key word being hitter -- shouldn't rank in the bottom third of your lineup in OPS. That's pathetic. And, I know that you can't just hand the spot over to someone else, but when Carl starts to b**** about being moved down -- then we have problems. FWIW, I certainly believe that a platoon of Gload/Anderson could easily give us a .750 OPS. If Carl doesn't start hitting in Detroit, maybe it's time to see what these guys can do...? I've wanted gload to have a chance to play all season so no argument there. If we throw Anderson in there he's going to look awesome some games and horrendous in others. Besides we both know this is a moot point cause ozzie won't pull carl.
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) There's a difference between keeping him as a "starter", and resting him a game or tow to sit back, relax, and not press so hard. Everett should still be the Sox DH, but he should also get a day off soon, as he's in a terrible mindset at the plate. That I completely agree with.
  25. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) what's his numbers in the last month? he's been dreadful and there's no reason that he NEEDS to start everyday. Ok, that's fair. He's been awful as of late you're going to get no argument out of me there. However, I think he's earned a spot in the lineup as he has been productive most of the season. He should never bat 3rd again though.
