QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) This is all confusing. But I think if the Rams win, than it is Saints and Rams in playoffs and Minn out. Who knows! Thought I read both Rams and Saints had to lose for Minn to get in if they lost. Get it? Nope, if the rams win, the vikings and rams get in(worst scenario, I hate both teams). If the rams lose, the Vikings and Saints get in. -

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) why what did he do When the Jets were driving on the last drive, Pennington threw a ball right into Archuleta's arms, Adam dropped it and the Jets kicked the game tying fg. -

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) It was blocked Great now we have to see the Vikings in the playoffs What a comeback by these Panthers though to come back from 1-6 and almost make the playoffs. Not to be nitpicky but it was 1 and 7 -

Wow. Casey is going to attempt a 60 yard field goal to tie it up. -

Jets tied the rams. Panthers on their own 2 with 50 seconds left. -

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) What scenario gets them in? A rams loss or a Panthers loss. Saints just went retarded on 3rd down. -
QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) how good are the kids that beane got for Mulder and Hudson? Well obviously these are just my opinions. Meyer and Barton are very good prospects especially Barton. Calero is a very solid bullpen arm, Cruz was outstanding last year and we all know he has a dynamite arm should be interested to see if he can carry that success over without Leo. I personally like Thomas, he was pretty good in a short stint with Atlanta last year, I think he'll be a solid major league player-nothing special. As far as Haren goes he's been rated pretty highly for a while in the cards organization, I've seen him pitch a couple of times and I'm just not to high on him, don't think he's going to be that good especially not a top of the rotation guy like some think he may be. Once again jmo.

I read this article before obviously I like the part about the sox winning the series but this is such a dumb article.

I think billy's making a huge mistake here. I'm willing to bet that bmac turns out better then Haren, I'm not that high on Danny, I think he's a bit overrated.

QUOTE (Jeckle2000 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 03:48 AM) <!--QuoteBegin-Cleats67+Jan 1, 2005 -> 09:30 PM--> QUOTE (Cleats67 @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) <!--QuoteEBegin--> This is no different than when the Bulls brought in Dennis Rodman. He was hated by everyone on the Bulls when he was with the Pistons. The Bulls talked with Michael, Scottie,... and then agreed to sign him. Even though he caused a lot of chaos while here, they won 3 championships with him. AJ is the same type of player Rodman was. He gets in the head of the opponent and takes them out of their game. We need some character, heart, and passion on this team and he will give us that and it will spill over to other Sox players. We won't have anyone being plowed over at the plate without getting drilled the next time up if AJ is here. The difference is that the bulls would of won those Championships with or without Rodman. The bulls were already in a position to win it all. Rodman was just the icing on the cake. It is highly unlikely this team in it's current state is going to win the World Series. Will adding AJ make us that team? Maybe... However to compare us to the Bulls signing Rodman just doesn't make much sense. No way the bulls would have won those championships without Rodman.

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 02:46 AM) well a rotation of prior, wood, zambrano, and maddux is top 3 if not top 1 in my book... and if glendon rusch is as good as he was last year id say they be easy number 1 but if he sucks sirgio mitre isnt that bad of a 5th starter Mitre is awful.

QUOTE (YASNY @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) I honestly think that Harris will be more aggresive on the basepaths this year, if he can get on base enough. I think if Willie is the starting 2b he'll definitely get on base enough and having Scott and Rock on board can only help, so hopefully he will be more aggressive and be able to steal 40 but he seems so intimidated out there I'm not holding breath about him stealing a lot of bags. -

QUOTE (YASNY @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 01:40 AM) If Podsednik's 2005 equals an average of 2004 and 2003, I'll be more than happy with the guy. Exactly if spod can hit .270-.280 which he should be able to do, he'll add so much to this team. -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) Today will mark Ace's one year anniversary on soxtalk. I was actually surprised I was included on the soxtalk ROY since I don't really feel like one. I've been around on this board around 2 years and I've been a part of this board for 1 year. It's had it's ups and downs and it's name change (cause damn Kenny had to trade away my favorite spect ) but soxtalk is a pretty good community. Here's to it. You've been here a year to long.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) Yeah Baj didn't pitch well. You can't read everyone on a Sept callup either. His numbers were poor, however he didn't pitch that bad, he had a lot of bad luck, a lot of balls that were hit soft got through on him.

The current standings are updated with tiebreakers. William Tell clinched the title after Texas won the Rose Bowl. Unfortunately this leaves no drama, but people can still cheer for other places.
