  1. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) I agree with everything he said except infield defense. Anyone who thinks that Willie and Juan are doing to hurt our defense up the middle then they have obviously never watched one Sox game last year. Hey jeckle we actually agree I said it a couple times last year I absolutely loved watching juan and willie play up the middle together, they seem to feed off of each other. If willie is indeed the starting 2b next year it could very well be the best dp combo in baseball.
  2. QUOTE(Molto @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) I consider Harris to be more of a question mark than hole, simply because he has the tools to be a good player. I completely agree, especially considering he atleast proved he can be an average ball player last year.
  3. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) Seems like Levine is off since his mom died recently I believe...he seems distracted understandably so Jester wasn't that a couple months ago?? I mean obviously it's understandable if that's what his mind is on but I think he's had some time.
  4. Awesome, I love watching those games
  5. I believe they just signed him to a long term deal, I think they want to keep him around.
  6. The 2003 team had more talent but this is the better team.
  7. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 03:58 PM) He was actually a good player, it's just his attitude and lazyness really made him look bad. That's why he sucks. He's got all the talent in the world and he's a decent offensive player however he's an awful and lazy defender, and a terrible baserunner, he's just an idiot. I don't think you can win with guys with D'angelo on your team, he's just a dumb ball player.

My parents saw it and told me it was awesome.
  9. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) Bummer. I wanted Cora because he could spell both Uribe & Harris at a reasonable price. Now the only guy worth considering on that list is Larkin. He still has some baseball left in the tank. If nothing else it take CLE out of the running for Iguchi. Our biggest competition might be coming from teams like HOU. Teams willing to spend more than others because of the hole they find themselves in. We have no competition for Iguchi, he'll either sign with the sox or stay in japan.
  10. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) You are grossly underestmating the value of Davis. He simply has not had enough regular ab's in the ML's to consider a bust yet. I liken his value to that of Jiminez' when the Sox got him. As a prospect he was highly rated. But in limited capacity he didn't get it done. Now with regular ab's at CIN he's an everyday player. Davis is worth at least what we gave up to get Jiminez at the time. Jimenez sucks.
  11. I kind of got a dilemma and wondering if I there is anything I can do. Anyways my friend and I were originally going to go saturday and sunday so we got the whole ticket package but we only have our room for saturday night, anyways we now want to go Friday too but the problem is they won't let us get our tickets until we check in but that's not until saturday. We're trying to argue with them but I'm not sure if that's going to work, anyone got any ideas??
  12. Good story. They showed some of it on CSN last night, Rowand smashed a ball left handed maybe he should be a switch hitter
  13. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) I'm more interested in the Q&A sessions and stuff like that than the autographs to tell you the truth. Ditto, the seminars are the most fun, imo. There are a couple auto's I want to get but for the most part all seminars.
  14. QUOTE(BamaDoc @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) Hermanson 2005 2.0 million, 2006 3.0 million, 2007 3.5 million or .5 buyout so two years at 5.5 guaranteed Schowenweis 2005 2.5 million, 2006 2.75 million. total 5.25 This may be interesting to compare as the year moves forward. I'm a little surprised Schowenweis got that much guaranteed due to his elbow trouble. He is supposed to be a left handed specialist which he would have been unhappy doing here last year. Hermy by a landslide.
  15. Ha, pretty funny how the twins could be ranked higher. I don't think the sox are going to get a lot of love in any of these type of things though because they've lost a lof of their "flash" if that makes any sense.
  16. Steelers Pats Eagles Falcons Pats over Steelers Eagles over Falcons Pats over Eagles
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) I think Carlos fell out of favor with KW. It was probably both of them, I don't think Ozzie cared for Carlos's approach at the plate but I could be wrong.
  18. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) It's a well known fact that Lee's value was high enough to fetch a #1 or #2 pitcher for the CWS. This was written up by Gammons himself. Think about that in terms of what we got for him. As someone said above Lee's value was higher than that of Koney's. So if this was a salary dump why not Koney over Lee? Look at all our 2B options we are discussing now. Any one of those players would have been thrown in with a relief pitcher & a PTBNL for Lee. That was likely the starting price for Lee. First off consider your source for that one. Second, I think the main reason Kenny traded carlos over koney was that carlos fell out of favor with Ozzie.
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) What I was saying is that I'm OD-ing on stats. Ah, ok, I'm an idiot, don't mind me
  20. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) The word "overkill" seems to come to mind. Ya, sorry about that, just making my point but I guess I've done that enough already :banghead
  21. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) What is your and other people's fascination with Alex Cora? Willie Harris is just as capable, if not more. Look at the numbers, Alex Cora sucks. Stats aren't everything.
