QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 23, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) I'm not creative, I just happen to like the phrase... I even added Dye to make it work. Buehrle is in because my guy Aboz wanted to see him in it. Don't mind me, my computer went psycho and the old banner got cut or changed(kinda wierd) now I see you're new one, great job

At first I didn't like it but it's already growing on me, I think I'd just get rid of the nb all together though. EDIT: This one looks badass, I'm still not sure about the nb but you're the creative one not me

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 23, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Personally, I say f*** the rivalry and I would much rather see the Sox kicking the Twins ass everytime...but thats just me though. Ditto.

This win impressed the hell out of me, I really thought they were going to lose this game, I'm very impressed

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) I dont really see a spot for him on the bulls uniform.... but i absolutely love the guy... he just made one realllllly bad mistake. Never gonna forget the triple-double he put up against jason kidd. I hope he goes anywhere but NY or LA As a duke fan Jay is one of my favorites if not my favorite player ever, I loved watching the guy in college, just one hell of a talent. I really hope he lands on his feet somewhere, like you said he made one real bad mistake.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) Is this ever gonna stop. Easily got 15 inches up here in Lake County. Sun was out for a few minutes but snow is back. Low visibility! Yup, it stopped for a bit and now is coming down hard again.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) Yes, I think that's a fair assumption. And if you were White Sox management, you'd probably want a safety net for 2B in case Iguchi is a bust, yes? I know I would. And not a rookie ... a proven guy. To me, that means either a trade for a veteran utility guy, ala Graffanino or someone like him, or bring in a safety net at SS and use Uribe as a guy who could pick up the slack at 2B if necessary. There are really no FA's left at 2B. I agree 100 percent.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Valid points. A question for you though ... let's assume for a sec they sign Iguchi. Do you think he would come over from Japan without some assurance he will at the very least get first crack at the starting job? Also, do you think the White Sox would pay $2.9M for two years guaranteed for a guy to come over and platoon at one position? It is not so much that the fans have a problem with Harris. Our opinions on a message board matter very little, to be blunt. To me, it's a huge concern when those associated with the team appear to have multiple problems with Harris. Huge red flag. Jim, if Iguchi comes over here he's going to be the starter. Like I've stated numerous times I have no problem with Willie but I like the advantages that comes with Iguchi, now I agree with you and Jeckle that if Iguchi is signed Willie might have to be made expendable to grab a utility guy, jmo.

QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) guys my friend said that its under espn insider about iguchi so please check It's there from a couple of days ago just saying that the sox are interested.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) Is it just me, or is Kenny pretty bad at keeping his poker face straight? Right when we (meaning the crowd @ Soxfest) asked him about Iguchi, he started laughing a bit to himself. He gave the company line answer, but you know/knew that he was going hard after him... He's awful, if there is ever a real soxtalk poker tournament he's invited

Weren't the same questions circuling Buehrle last year?? The man is just a horse, imo if there is a sure thing in MLB Mark Buehrle is about as close to it as there is.
-
Take it fwiw in one of the forums on Japanesebaseball.com someone posted that Jayson Stark said that Iguchi is very close to signing a 3 year deal with the sox, I personally haven't heard anything but just posting what I saw, once again take it fwiw.

An inshape Carl is a good hitter and he's in good condition, I'm expecting big things out of him this year.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Feb 21, 2004 -> 03:20 PM) Buehrle is gonna be somethin.. He already is QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Feb 21, 2004 -> 11:28 PM) i hurried and picked me up an authentic road buehrle jersey and it's got the all-star patch on it, one of a kind. Plan to wear it to all the games this year. That's nice aboz. I got a freddy jersey with the allstar patch on in gray also, I love those jersey's. Very cool how you got that aboz.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) Note to both of you: Always say hi to a fellow Soxtalk member, I know I would have loved to say hello to both of you. Aboz, I saw you like a million times, basically every autograph line I was in you were there too and then I saw you during a couple of the seminars also. Anyways I wanted to say hi just really didn't know how. Hopefully they'll be some soxtalk tailgates this year where I can meet up with you guys.

QUOTE(POTUSChris @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) I should have, but like I said I can be pretty shy. Also, I was hungry, tired, and annoyed, not a good combination... So you see, I spared y'all from pissed off Chris...a very scary thing I was also to shy to say hi to anyone, anyways I can't believe connies made you guys wait that long, my friends and I actually ordered pizza from Uno's and got it within an hour, pretty nice and great pizza

QUOTE(Yoda @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) What the f*** does he mean when he wrote, "The Indians still take the division..."!!? This guy must have been smoking marijuana when he wrote that... I'd be absolutely shocked if the Indians break .500.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/01/20/a...y.ap/index.html Roswell, NM, police discovered 63 neglected cats in the back of a U-Haul truck being driven by a 71-yr old Michigan woman. She was pulled over for a traffic stop (burned out tail light) when the cop heard what sounded like an injured cat. When he opened the back of the truck, he discovered 63 cats! They are in various stages of health; 2 were dead. The poor kitties were turned over to Animal Control where they are being cared for and tested for various diseases. Unfortunately, it looks like few, if any, of the kitties will be adoptable. :headshake f***in terrible, I hate when this s*** happens. :headshake

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) I'm not saying he isn't trying to get better. I just don't know if he WANTS to get better. Does he truly want it? Eh'...I've said my piece on Harris. You all know how I feel. Fair enough.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) I don't hate on Willie just because; I can't stand him because he doesn't have the attitude nor the drive to turn things around. The difference between a boy like Wee Willie and men like Aaron and Jon is drive. When Rowand was playing below his expectations and people were all over him, I always supported him because he was busting his hump on turning things around...two years later, Aaron is a fan favorite, a proverbial "grinder." I have the same sentiment towards Garland. Although many hyped him to be a 15-18 game winner (who knows, maybe he'll attain that status), I accepted him as a 12 game winner because he was out there doing his best. Wheter Maunel hooked him early, or whatever the case was, he did what he had to do to preform the next time out. I know he put the blame on others early in his career, but he has steered away from that and knows what he has to do to suceed. Willie just doesn't give a s***. He has the tools to be an excellent fielder and an above-average hitter, but he hasn't done it...why? He's had ample time to prove himself and so far, has done nothing more than earn a glorifed "pinch-runner" status. His steals total was the final nail in the coffin in my book. HARRIS IS NOT AN EVERYDAY PLAYER!!! If Wee Willie turns it around, I'll be the first in line to congraduate him on a job well done, but in the meantime, it seems like I and more important people in the Sox organization have given up on him (namely Mr. Williams.). He has fallen out of favor with the organization for a reason. I honestly don't understand the love-affair with this kid. I've posted in the past, I don't know if its his cute size, his cute nickname, or his horrible inconsistancy and inability to hit LHP, but people love him. What makes you think willie doesn't work his ass off, if anything I'd say willie is a much harder worker then jon, a lot of times jon seems like he doesn't give a s***. Now don't get me wrong I'm not trying to turn this into a jon vs willie thing because I think soxfans at times underrated both because we expect the best from all of our players, however I do think willie is trying to get better.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 05:55 PM) Right field race? Forget the stop watch, being a calendar. It looks like a couple guys are going to be logging some serious sub time if things do not change. Like most teams, we are thin in spots. A couple injuries and it's 2004 Part 2 When Frank comes back I actually think the bench is pretty deep. Carl will essentially become a bench player even though I'm sure he'll get a decent amount of playing time, you also have ross who a lot of us thought could have been a starter this year and Timo who has been a starter before. Backing up aj we have ben and jamie which isn't that bad either, neither of them are great but both could probably step in and atleast hold the position down. Right now the obvious missing link is a utility guy who can give juan and willie breaks, I'm sure we'll pick a utility man up cause that seems like something kenny is really set on but as of right now I don't think the team is that thin besides the middle infield slots, jmo.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) Exactly, he gets the award for most annoying personality of the weekend. I'll agree there, I love hawk but he was annoying as hell this weekend. Not only did he keep talking about the sox having 242 homeruns and the yankees not ever doing that before this year, yada yada yada, he wouldn't shut up. People would ask someone else a question and hawk would go on a 10 minute rant, he was ridiculous this weekend. Oh yeah not to mention he'd open every seminar saying how this is the best soxfest he's ever been to as far as the fans attitude saying last year was great too but this years was better.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) But spring training is so far away! Haha, fair enough I think all of us are itching for spring training to come. The team is basically set and there is no baseball being played, really not much to talk about.
